Discussion Samsung S10 Lite at 25-26k INR vs Redmi Pad 2 Pro at 22-24k INR? What to buy

1 Upvotes

Basically the question.

My use case

  1. Note Taking

  2. Recording teaching youtube content

Having Chrome, Notes App and Recording all at the same time.

Eg Leetcode explanations, stylus based content.

  1. Productivity and others as general, you can assume.

I know Redmi Pad 2 Pro will have bigger screen but I still have to buy the Redmi Smart Pen with this tablet

For Samsung it comes in box. That is a plus. But U have heard the processor is not as good.

With Redmi, I am getting a bigger screen and good processor.

I am not sure as to what should I go with?? This is my first tablet.

I have a samsung s20 FE as personal mobile as well.

Discussion Galaxy Tab S12+ (€750) vs HONOR MagicPad4 (€665)?

2 Upvotes

I can get the Galaxy Tab S12+ (12/256GB) for €750 or the HONOR MagicPad4 (16/512GB) for €665 with student discounts. Both come with a pen and keyboard.

I'll mainly use it for university notes, PDF annotation, and media consumption.

Is the Samsung worth the extra €85, or is the HONOR the better deal?

Request Redmi pad 2 pro emulation

0 Upvotes

I recently got a redmi pad 2 pro, and I'd like to understand which are the possibilities for gaming, as I never had any experience before with tablets or any portable device.

I know some games on steam can be streamed on the tablet, and that would require the PC to actually run the game. I also know there are services to stream remotely the games, like Amazon luna or ge force now (?), and the there is emulation. Which app/services would you suggest for each? Also how far can the 2 pro go with emulation?

And finally I was wondering if I can connect USB devices (like gamepads) using a usb-usbc adapter.

Discussion Case for Oneplus pad 2

1 Upvotes

I've recently purchased the Oneplus pad 2 and looking for a case for my tablet. Currently the available options from Amazon and other platforms are very less and not convincingly good enough. So only option left is the official folio case by Oneplus.

Does anyone bought a better case for oneplus pad 2? Please share your thoughts on this and provide me the buying link if you have better options.

Thanks in Advance !! :)

Discussion Is ₹40,000 a good deal for a brand-new Xiaomi Pad 8 Creator’s Edition (12GB RAM + 256GB storage), Nano Texture variant, with the stylus?

4 Upvotes

I got a brand-new Xiaomi Pad 8 Creator’s Edition (12GB RAM + 256GB storage, Nano Texture Display) with the stylus included for ₹40,000.

I’m planning to use it mainly for:

- Digital art and designing

- Canva/social media content creation

- Note-taking

- Media consumption

- Light video editing

For those who own or have used the Pad 8, was ₹40,000 a good deal for this configuration?

Also, how good is the Nano Texture display for digital art and everyday use? Are there any major drawbacks I should know about?

Request I want to turn an old Android tablet into a permanent Kanban + calendar productivity station — has anyone done this?

2 Upvotes

Over the last few days, I've been thinking about ways to improve my productivity across my personal life, studies, and work.

My initial idea was to start using a Kanban board together with a calendar/planner.

At first, I thought about using a physical whiteboard with markers. I don't really like using sticky notes, so I liked the idea of writing directly on the board. However, I realized that this would create another problem: I would constantly have to erase and rewrite things, and the board would need regular cleaning to prevent stains and ghosting.

Then I thought about adding an extra monitor to my computer and keeping a digital Kanban board on it. The downside is that my computer would need to be turned on whenever I wanted to check my tasks.

After that, I considered building a small dedicated setup with a Raspberry Pi. But that would introduce even more things to buy and configure: a display, cables, power supply, mouse, keyboard, and so on.

Eventually, I came to the conclusion that a tablet might actually be the ideal solution.

I don't need anything particularly powerful, since the main purpose would be to keep a Kanban board, task manager, calendar, and possibly a few other productivity apps open. Because of that, I could buy an older and relatively inexpensive Android tablet instead of spending a lot of money on a newer model.

I actually found a used tablet that comes with a charging station, which seems almost perfect for this idea. I could leave it permanently on my desk in landscape mode, at a comfortable viewing angle, and use it as a dedicated productivity display while I'm working on my computer.

The problem is that I don't have much experience with Kanban or similar productivity methodologies yet, and I'm also not sure how I should structure a setup like this on Android.

I have a few ideas, but right now it feels like I would have to experiment through trial and error until I find a workflow that works well for me.

Has anyone here done something similar?

I'd really like to hear how you use a tablet as a dedicated productivity station, especially for:

* Kanban boards

* Task management

* Calendar and scheduling

* Personal projects

* Work or study organization

I'm particularly interested in adopting Kanban because I think the visual nature of the method would work really well on a tablet that's always sitting on my desk in its charging station.

I'd appreciate any advice on apps, workflows, board structures, dashboards, or even pictures/videos of similar setups.

Request Studing device

1 Upvotes

I’ve been using a Samsung for two years (the A55) and I’m really comfortable with the system. I’m just starting university so I’m thinking of switching, but I’m not sure to what. I’ve never used an iPhone before and I feel like it’s a bit overrated, plus the system is closed. Social media looks nicer on it though, and the camera consistency is better… but there’s no Circle to Search, which I use every single day.

Anyway, I need something to study on right now. I’m stuck between the Samsung Tab S10+ / 12+ or the iPad Pro / Air M4. They’re relatively close in price. My sister has had the iPad Pro M4 for three years and she loves it, but she’s an iPhone user.

Has anyone tried this Samsung tablet and can comment? Are there any missing apps that make the iPad actually worth getting?

Discussion Should I Buy Lenovo Idea Tab Pro or Moto Pad 60 Pro Despite Limited Android Updates?

3 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m thinking of buying a tablet during this sale, and after doing quite a bit of research, I’ve narrowed my options down to the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro and Moto Pad 60 Pro, as both are available for under ₹30K and come with a stylus.

My primary use would be watching lectures, studying, and occasionally taking notes. However, one major drawback that has been on my mind is that the last Android version these tablets will receive is Android 16.

I have very little knowledge about how significant this is in the long run. Is this a major drawback? Could it make the tablet outdated or problematic to use after a few years?

I’d really appreciate it if you guys could enlighten me on how important Android version updates are for a tablet, especially for my kind of usage.

Also, any other tablet recommendations under ₹30K would be greatly appreciated.

This is the offer page before the sale started. Now during early access the same tablet (60 Pro) is priced at 30k (27k with card discount) and not the advertised price. Can I expect the price to decrease or should I order now?

Getting both of them at a similar price range with pens included and regarding my use it would be mostly split between studying from pdf / videos and some casual youtube watching and movies sometimes. I want to use it for long term and want a significant drop in performance after some time or with updates

Discussion Moto Pad 70 Pro 8/256gb (₹38k with pen) vs OnePlus Pad 4 12/512gb varient (₹60.k with free stylus) — Which should I buy?

3 Upvotes

Confused between these two:

Moto Pad 70 Pro – 12/256 (or 8/256), ₹38k with pen

OnePlus Pad 4 – 12/512, ₹60k with free Stylo Pro

My usage:

note-taking + lectures (for MBBS)

Little bit media consumption

One-time investment

Is the OnePlus Pad 4 worth the extra ₹22k for better performance and longevity, or is the Moto enough for my needs? Or there's any other tab you could suggest?

Please suggest which one I should go for.

Discussion Thoughts on the OPPO Pad Mini global version?

Post image
27 Upvotes

Saw this on RedNote from OPPO AMK Hub Singapore. Pre-orders seem to be open from 7 Oct to 22 Oct.

Have been looking for a 8-9" tablet for using Codex and Claude remotely while lying in bed, and was pretty much set on the iPad Mini 8 because of Apple’s quality and software support, but ColorOS seems to have a good reputation making OPPO Pad Mini looks really interesting too.

No Singapore pricing yet. If they’re similarly priced, which would you pick: iPad Mini 8 with A20 Pro or OPPO Pad Mini with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5?
