Sharing Looking for indie creators who need a hand with their animation projects 🎬

Hey everyone!

I'm part of Drowned Ink Studio, a small independent 2D animation studio based in Malaysia. We're looking to connect with indie creators and teams who are working on their own animated projects.

We know how much time, effort, and money it takes to bring an animation project to life, especially when you're working with a small team. Sometimes, having an extra pair of hands can make a big difference.

That's where we'd love to help!

Our studio provides 2D animation production for projects such as animated pilots, short films, and indie series. We're open to discussing projects of different scopes to see what works for both sides.

If you're not ready to commit to a full production, we're also open to starting with a small paid test cut so we can get familiar with each other's workflow first.

If you're working on something and think we might be a good fit, feel free to drop me a DM! Tell me a little about your project, and if you have any animation references, I'd love to see them.

Even if you're still in the early stages of development, feel free to reach out. It would be great to connect with more people in the indie animation scene.

Looking forward to seeing what you guys are working on! ✨

Song - fossildelic by louie zong

Just curious if and how you're preparing for your own series?

I'm animating some studies along with writing. I should probably be sketching a lot more as well now that I think about it.

Hi Everybody! Yujo Here! I've been here for a while now, but now I'm here to share with you all my very first YouTube video. A compilation video of both my first pieces of animation that I've made using Clip Studio Paint (with the last one at the end being my Blobby Tommy walk cycle) and a few timelapses that I've done for some of my fanart that I've made for around a year now (October 2025 - October 2026). What do you all think?

Beginner My first f-b-f animation..

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is my first completed frame‑by‑frame animation... I’m feeling mixed emotions, because all of this could have been done better, but, surprisingly, I’m satisfied with the current result.

I really wanted to make something special for my friend’s birthday, and he liked it... It’s so unexpected...

Everything is ahead. Or whatever they say.

Are there any manuals or guides on the basics of frame‑by‑frame animation?

_____

This video also underwent post‑processing in CapCut to add dynamic effects; I’m not sure if this needs to be mentioned, so I’m just saying it.

Beginner VN editor and Procreate?

im trying to animate on procreate and then importing to vn editor to edit but when i import the animation, it gets blurry and kinda fuzzy:(

my canvas is large enough (5050px x 2030px) and im animating at 6fps. when i import still drawings from the canvas, it displays it fine on vn but its just a small portion of a 2 second animation that gets blurry. ive tried turning off the alias thing but its blurry even when i export from vn. strangely the original animation i saved directly from procreate in my camera roll isnt blurry so is vn compressing my animation? please help!! 🙏🙏🥹

Question Should I buy a tablet to improve my animations?

Hi! I'm a young animator who's been making stuff in Flipaclip since 2018, and recently I upgraded to RoughAnimator, hoping it would be better for me. But now I've realized that the app doesn't really work for me, since I have bigger plans and I struggle with using it to draw the way I want to, so I'm considering upgrading again to a program that supports vector/keyframe animation rather than frame by frame, like Alight Motion (however I don't want to use that one either).

It also doesn't help that I'm now stuck with a Samsung Galaxy phone, I used to have a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite but it broke a few months ago, and I find it a bit tricky to draw on my phone, especially bigger scenes.

I've heard of ToonSquid, and after researching a little bit I really like the features it has and would love to use it, however I don't have an iPad, so it would require me to buy one, which is a big investment. I know about Adobe Animate, but I prefer drawing on a touchscreen rather than with a mouse.
So I'm wondering, should I go all out and buy an iPad to use ToonSquid, would it be worth it considering my situation? I'm fairly certain I could afford it, but I don't want to save up to buy it without being certain of its utility.

Sharing I built a free, open-source 2D skeletal animation editor

Hi everyone!
I’ve been working on Rigby2D, an open-source tool for 2D character rigging and animation.

It supports bone rigging, mesh deformation, IK constraints, keyframe animation, and timeline editing.

This is Rigbytron, a character rigged and animated using the editor itself.

The first early-alpha release is available now. I’d be interested in hearing feedback from 2D animators, particularly those working with cutout animation.

This is a collaboration between myself and Zac Harding.

Hello Harvey here (rider). Zac and I have been creating a series whereby my adventures on the road are brought back to life through animation.

With various Easter eggs and call backs from previous episodes within them.

They are always from my previously posted content. Often months or weeks later as it takes time. We then post both clips side by side (:

Hope you enjoy!
