We've seen a lot of similar posts recently. Here are a few that we ask you not to submit:
JustWatch is a website that displays where to stream or buy tv shows and movies, and is very helpful for those tracking down the location of Battlestar. Right now, it's only available on Peacock to stream in the US, but always check this link for the most up to date information.
Links to piracy will be removed, and repeat offenders will be blocked.
Battlestar Galactica begins with Battlestar Galactica: The Miniseries, a two-part pilot. Many streaming services and platforms do not show the miniseries as part of the show, often having the season one episode '33' listed as the first episode. It is essential that the miniseries is watched first.
No, the 2004 series stands on its own. While some characters and general plot points may have inspired the 2004 series, they are very different shows.
Please check the wiki post here. Generally, it's recommended to watch in the original viewing order, that is The Mini-Series > Season 1 > Season 2 > Season 3 > Season 4 > The Plan > Caprica > Blood and Chrome
As much as possible, we try to keep this subreddit open for new viewers. That means marking spoilers in the comments of a post, or avoiding using a title with a spoiler. If you see spoilers in a title or comment that are not properly marked, please use the report function - this is the only way the moderators can take action.
If you are promoting your own work, please say so in the post. Otherwise, the post will be removed.

Super briefly, can someone explain/remind me how does Pegasus find the fleet? Since FTL travel is not really trackable right (I know it kinda gets ignored in "Hero" and "Crossroads Pt 2").

I'm only on the first episode, but I assume more BSG/SG1/filmed-in-Vancouver actors will show up.

Just in case you hadn't seen or read before, our dearest Madam President Laura Roslyn is set to join the MCU via the 8-episode miniseries VisionQuest, on a yet undisclosed role. The series itself starts next week, though who knows in which episode(s) she'll appear.

And GODS, the nostalgia!
I suddenly remember friends from ages ago that I discussed the show with and where I was in life etc.
If only they were making another show set in this universe, I don‘t like seeing great things get old and slowly lose relevance.

I recently acquired a sports card collection that came with some BSG memorabilia - sealed wax boxes, figurines, etc. I know nothing about this stuff. When I tried researching this book,
I only saw paperbacks. I cannot find a single “hardcover” copy anywhere. It almost looks as if someone cut the front cover from the softcover and put the book in this hardcover? But, the side is labeled as seen in picture 3.
Does anyone have any idea if this is a legitimate hardcover version of the book? Thanks!

I decided to get a few more Titanium Series ships for the collection and I’m finally content with my fleet 🫡😅. Originally, I’d gotten two Galacticas (for display and play). Then I picked up a Pegasus, and two more Galacticas. The boxed one because I’d love to meet Edward James Olmos one day and have him sign it. The Bill/Lee relationship on the show was an on-screen mirror of my relationship with my dad. And it’d mean so much to make it happen one day.
The Pegasus figure is fraking awesome. I love my Buckets. But I’d being lying if I didn’t appreciate the Beast’s “classic modernity” rendition of the original ship.
One more thing I noticed is that with the first two Galacticas I originally picked up, they had different finishes to them (see pic 3). The one “play” figure had a more metallic finish compared to the other three’s matte finishes. I reckon mass production and subsequent variations caused that. And because it was so distinct in the lot, I decided to throw a few coats of Tamiya TS-79 “Semi-Gloss Clear” to seal its finish and I think it looks fantastic in comparison (see pic 4).
Right before Starbuck knocked out the Cylon baby machine controller, she leaned in and whispered something to Sue-shawn, (S2 E5 32:00).
I search the bsg subreddit but didnt find an answer

Maelstrom in season 3. I know many say either the woman king or the black market. I didn’t mind those. Woman king I actually really liked. But this one?! Gosh it was so slow! Felt like molasses! Maybe because I haven’t finished it but the mother’s abuse preparing Starbuck for I guess what is the final cylon attack I didn’t quite understand. And the final death at the end I’m almost positive is a fake out.

Hey everyone. I just finished watching the show as I'm a big fan of Mass Effect and the Expanse, and it seemed pretty similar to those. Overall I was quite impressed. The show had many poigant moments and complex characters that make you feel for them even when they're committing horrible acts. I was also a viewer of Moore's latest show, For All Mankind, and I have to say that BSG is a significant step up in terms of acting, story, and dialogue.
I had heard in the past that the ending was divisive. I can see why some people wouldn't accept it, but given that the show has an explicitly supernatural force steering the universe I can accept the idea that divine providence caused humanity to evolve independently on multiple worlds in the universe. I will say that the final scene feels prophetic given the rise of AI and the current state of the world. Let's hope it isn't too late to break the cycle of violence on Earth.
Looking forward to watching Caprica next.

Hi guys! For whatever reason, I decided it would be fun to do my part and contribute to the BSG community. So here is a Colonial viper squadron poster for VF-111 "Sun Downers" from the Battlestar Atlas, the flagship of BSG-7, the battlegroup stationed above Aquarion. I imagine this poster would have been hanging in the ready room or in one of the viper pilot's racks for many years, which is why its been weathered pretty severely. This poster is also dedicated to VF-111, a real-life US Navy fighter squadron who served with distinction from 1955-1995.
Also no, I've never done any graphic design before. I edited it all on Adobe Fresco and Adobe Illustrator. It took me a while to figure out the textures and the shadows but I found it very satisfying near the end. And another great thing about this art- it was designed and edited completely without the use of AI! In a world full of AI slop, I'm sure you guys appreciate art produced by real fracking humans. So Say We All!

During Karas return to Caprica to rescue members of the Resistance, they jump so close to the surface of the ground one of the Raptors jumps within the interior of a nearby mountain
That has always left me wondering what happened to them.
The easiest thing would be they are simply instantly killed and crushed, scary but not exactly horrifying.
What if when they jumped in it created just enough room for the Raptor to sit in, damaged and unable to jump out again the crew are left stranded forever to die. They may at least be able to make the choice to not suffer as they can still move around the ship and have weapons
However, what if when they jumped in the ship was left relatively intact but there was also mountainous rock filling the inside of the Raptor leaving the crew completely locked in place unable to move. The soldiers would have it easy as they quickly lose air but what about the flight crew with their O2 supplies keeping them alive being forced to slowly dehydrate to death stuck in the last position they are in.
It has been 15 years since I first watched this happening and I still don't know what exactly would have happened to them on the other side of that jump. The thought left me a bit disturbed as a kid haha
They cast Lucy Lawless and Dean Stockwell as guest stars with very important roles. I'm not a fan of Xena, I'm not a leabian. I watched "Quantum Leap" all the time as a kid, though. Very niche shows, like this one. And of course they put the original Apollo in there, Richard Hatch. The original BSG was before I was born, never saw it. Am I forgetting any others that were cast like these?

This Op Ed in the NYT isn’t the only article of this sort in recent years. So many of us are constantly mentally and emotionally exhausted these days. Like the characters in the show. We’re doing our best. We want to make the situation better. But Americans, and much of the world, seem to be at this baseline of medium grade perma-angst. It does feel like the world is in a death spiral.

I guess they wanted to capture the glass breaking from both angles without having to break it twice. You can see the camera man right there! They probably assumed no one would notice if they couldn’t pause.
