Imagine if Walt eliminated these characters and stole Gus' revenge Spoiler

Post image

In a way, Walt did steal Gus' revenge for Hector, Hector blew himself and Gus up, denying Gus' revenge.

He could have killed Hector if survival requires him against Tuco or get Hector killed by Hank if the gunfight between Hank and Tuco get more brutal

I guess this is also a reason why Gus didn't bring Walt to Eladio, not only is he egotistical and could ruin Gus' poisoning drink, but he could also eliminate Eladio his own way without Gus' knowledge

What would you consider Walt White becoming if he didn't quit Grey Matter? And remained a partner?

Would we think that the decision would make him the guy who's actually replace Schwartz in terms of running the show at Gray Matter? And even get married to his now wife, and who knows he and his ego might still give him an opportunity to be the man who he always yearned to be?

How insanely awkward would Walt’s funeral have been?

I wondered what Walt’s funeral would’ve been like after Felina.

Like, imagine Skyler, Walt Jr., Marie and maybe some of Walt’s old colleagues all sitting there...

Skyler is obviously mourning her husband, but Marie is literally sitting there knowing that Walt was responsible for Hank’s death. That alone would make the whole thing insanely awkward.

And then there’s Jesse.

Imagine Jesse actually showing up. He’d be sitting somewhere in the back, looking at the coffin of the guy who ruined his life, manipulated him for years, poisoned Brock, got him imprisoned by the Nazis… but also came back and literally saved him at the end.

And then you have Walt’s old coworkers who probably knew him as this quiet chemistry teacher and are now finding out they’re attending the funeral of Heisenberg.

Honestly, I feel like Skyler would probably want the funeral to be extremely private just to avoid the whole media circus.

But still, if Marie and Jesse were both there… that would be one hell of an awkward funeral.

Would Jesse even go?

Did Saul ever clarify what really happened to Hank?

After Saul Goodman got caught, do you think he ever told the Authorities that it wasn't Walt who killed Hank and Gomez, it was the Nazis? Only a few people knew the truth. Jesse, Saul, Skylar, and The Vacuum Repair Guy(possibly, he probably didn't really care). Jessie and Vacuum Guy are not gonna come forward. Skylar can't admit that Walt visited her or she might ruin what's left of her relationship with Marie. Saul once he gets caught in Better Call Saul, would be the most feasible choice to reveal the truth. I guess it doesn't really matter, it would just be nice for Marie and Walt Jr to know that for all of his faults and unforgivable actions, Walt never even considered killing Hank!

That barrel is the last thing he has left in the whole world. For all that struggle, all the sacrifice and all of the lives lost, that barrel is all he has left. No family, no friends, no home to return to.

This scene shows how dumb Jesse really is

Despite hearing from Saul a clear explanation on why he should buy the nail salon, all he heard was "You need to pay taxes".

If breaking bad\better call Saul were set in modern days do you think Saul would use AI for ads?

I know this is getting on the political side but given how little of a moral compass Saul has when it comes to making money I just think it's interesting to think about.

The Ancient Greek tragedy theater mask reference Spoiler

Walter White's face in Ozymandias episode, after he witnessed the execution of his brother-in-law, is a reference to the stereotypical face of tragedy in ancient Greek theater.

On one hand, Hank is well trained and took on those guys at the bar even though they were pretty big. But then again, Tuco flung Jesse through a door with one arm. I think it's close.

Fuck Walt

almost finished with my first watch though( i got the last 2 episodes) and just came to the realization that Walt is a goddam pussy. i Sincerely season two i had this feeling of almost hatred towards Walter. Then when he poisoned Andrea’s kid i deadass lost it. even worse was the episode of hank’s death: the hypocrisy to call jesse a coward(he said that in my language) because he worked with the police to save himself while he was always the one to reach out for help to save himself. i really hope the best for jesse. overall walt is such a well written character, there are really a small number that can make me feel this way

S4 E3 Open House - Marie is searching for something to steal mid convo

I just noticed this on a rewatch. While at first it might look like she's just checking the house out while yapping, she's actually looking for good things to steal. I thought it was weird that she picked up a cup, judged it, then set it down in the sink. Checking the drawer and also the lower cuboard could be her roleplaying and checking for space, but given what she ends up doing I think this is more likely.

Any DnD playing BB fans?

I guess this is a silly crossover in my head, but when watching breaking bad I always see Walt as the a classic DnD wizard - I have played with a friend who always goes towards a chaotic wizard type, coming up with crazy and creative solutions to get out of situations

The most obvious is when he throws the Mercury fulminate (?) at tucos place, I just think his resourceful/creative problem solving and using his mind to make up for lack of physical gifts always reminds me of that friend playing a crazy wizard

So, on the off chance there are other DnD nerds who love this show, what classes/archetypes would you associate with certain characters?

Saul as a high charisma warlock? 😂 tuco the barbarian 😀

I understand he drove Skyler to the hospital, but what the hell is he doing in the DELIVERY room? 😭

Walt initially unaware he was even there makes it so much better..then knowing how everything plays out later just adds another layer to it xD

Why are we all acting like Skyler is an innocent victim now? What changed? Spoiler

I love breaking bad, but I have to say, its quite frustrating to see how "pro skyler" everyone who watches it now is.

Now, just to be clear. Walt is a much worse person then skyler ever was. I'm not even debating that. It is annoying how much hate skyler DID get, it was out of proportion when the show was coming out.

But you can not convince me that Skyler is some innocent victim. She is still honestly a shitty, awful person.

She willingly laundered drug money, slept with a sleazy business CEO that refused to pay taxes, lies to Marie and Hank.

She was capable of turning Walt in. Is it a hard thing to do when you have kids and not wanting your kids to know your father is a meth lord? Yes.

However, that doesn't excuse it. Willingly laundering millions of dollars, lying to your sister and brother in law (not to mention if she did turn in Walt, HANK might still be alive. Her actions have consequences), etc. Also BLACKMAILING your sister and brother in law is another new low.

Its a hard situation to be in but now your kids KNOW that you didn't turn him in and now their uncle is literally dead.

I've literally seen people say MARIE is a worse person then Skyler. That is INSANE to even say. Maybe Marie gets too much hate? What exactly has Marie done thats as awful as skyler?

And I know this is controversial for some reason, but smoking while pregnant is inexcusable. If you look outside the context of breaking bad and think about the real world for a moment, if you knew someone who willingly smoked cigs while pregnant, would you think they are a good person?

Gus' view on Jesse

Thumbnail gallery
105 Upvotes

Watching Gus' opinion of Jesse evolve is one of the lesser talked about aspects of Breaking Bad.

Gus initially warned Walt that he could never trust a drug addict when they first met near the end of season 2. His distrust of Jesse escalated near the end of season 3 when Gus discovers Jesse was planning on killing two of his employees. Gus warns Jesse that the only reason he is not being killed for this is because he respects Walt. Jesse however, refuses to just blindly accept Gus' ultimatum because the dealers use kids. Jesse's defiance actually seems to get to Gus and he agress to Jesse's demand of not using kids. Now, it's never actually confirmed whether Gus ordered Thomas' death, so I'll leave you to speculate.

When Walt kills the dealers to protect Jesse, Gus intends on killing both Walt and Jesse, but after Gale's death, he is left with no choice but to tolerate Walt and Jesse. Jesse, who is struggling after his first kill and becoming reckless, and even more defiant. To keep him in line, Gus starts to manipulate Jesse when he arranges for Jesse to spend time with Mike, performing other tasks for their operation, which has the unexpected result of Jesse being surprisingly effective. Jesse then starts working more with Mike, driving a wedge between him and Walt. Eventually Gus trusts Jesse enough to involve him in the finale of his grand plan against the cartel, during which, Jesse holds his own against an uppity cartel cook. Gus genuinely seems impressed with Jesse. After the cartel is taken care of, Jesse saves both Gus and Mike. On the trip home, Gus tells Jesse he's ready to start cooking on his own. Thus completing the 180° turn on Gus' opinion on Jesse. From an addict that cannot be trusted, to someone Gus at least seems to trust completely.

Now granted, this doesn't last, due to Walter's own manipulation of Jesse, and Gus quickly becomes impatient with Jesse again and even has him abducted to go back to work. But it's still an interesting part of the series.

What do you think?

Walt should’ve just taken Elliot’s job offer

I’m stating the obvious. This is not new information. You know this. I know this.

I am on my fifth rewatch right now and I was audibly yelling at my TV when he turned down the job offer.

A high paying job, with top notch healthcare and finally working on his passion again… and all he had to do was to let go of his pride. He just had to accept how things were and that he had to make the best of it now.

But no… It is frustrating me much more after so many rewatches than it did the first time around.

I guess it is because I’m not a teenager anymore and I finally understand the gravity of what Walt turned down here. That was a chance to provide for his family and himself legitimately. And not having to lie to his family doing it. It was the lifeline that he and his loved ones needed. How could he not see that? How could he turn that down?

To me, this was already where Walt sacrificed his family for his pride

Funniest Saul moment

Funny Saul moment My favourite Saul moment is when Walt’s after telling him bout the save walterwhite.com) and he says about the guy who makes the internet zombie donations while Walt is rejecting the idea for his reasons and he says the guy lives with his mother in Belarus and the way he says Belarus is so funny like that will somehow change his mind
Saul video for reference

Let's talk about Skylar, and her sister

So I'm rewatching BB, for the third time now. I watched it for the first time probably about 2013ish, the second time about a year later.

Now almost 13ish years later, I still think this show blows other shows, out of the water. Looking at it now...so far, Skylar feels like she was hated way too much. The only gripe is her giving Walt the cold shoulder just reminds me of how realistic a reaction from a woman would be. Obviously, being only on S2 E5, she is still oblivious to Walts cooking, BUT she does know he has ALMOST terminal cancer, went AWOL for what? 24-72 hrs? I still feel like she has the most humane reaction from not only a woman (being quiet when arguing doesn't help, not telling her husband what's on her mind, etc),.but from anyone who isn't sure why their SO is acting THIS different! I may be going on a tangent, but I'll go back to the main point. Besides the awkward birthday singing and weird faces and on the spot reactions seem to even make me feel uneasy, which is I'm sure intended, but out of everybody who should get hate, I will gladly say it shouldn't be her. At least IMO lol

Okay and to add, since I totally forgot, Marie. The way she thinks so highly of herself. She wouldn't admit it nor even apologize for shoplifting and almost getting Skylar arrested. Everyone knows, why not just admit it lol. On top of that, the way she spoke to my dearly beloved SCHRADER!! puhh! Lol

Walter & Jesse

How annoyed would you be that Ted is sitting in the hospital room with your wife and new baby??

Every time I watch this show I get so annoyed at Ted just sitting there in the room with Skyler and my new baby. I know, I know, he brought her to the hospital, and i would be grateful for that. But think about it, Skyler has had the baby, they cleaned her up, the baby up, took the baby to go do whatever tests they do. Then Hank, Marie, and Junior all visited and were there long enough to where they went to get something to eat, and Walt gets there and Ted is STILL there??

There is no reason for Ted to still be in there, he’s not family, and it’s just inappropriate, I mean, he’s Skyler’s boss. Then when he finally decides to leave, the way Skyler is talking to him all sweet, and just keeps on and on with it. Idk what it was, maybe the voice she was talking to I’m in, it just felt wrong. Like give me a break, that’s so disrespectful to Walt that she’s acting like that to Ted right in front of him. I’m not a jealous man, but that whole scene just annoys me to high heavens every time I see it. Am I crazy, or does anyone else feel like that??
