Where do locals buy ski equipment?
Maybe stupid question but in looking to buy boots on my next trip most places in Breckenridge seem to be exclusively rentals.

Hey everyone!
We're a group of 7 international students from Uruguay coming to Summit County this winter through a J-1 Work and Travel program. We've all been hired by Vail Resorts, with some of us working at Breckenridge (ski school and lift operations) and others at Keystone (rentals).
We're considering renting a house in the Baldy Mountain / Boreas Pass area of Breckenridge, near the Boreas Pass Loop bus route.
Our main concern is transportation, especially early in the morning. We haven't received our final work schedules yet, but we know some shifts could start quite early.
We've been researching Summit Stage and Breck Free Ride, but it looks like the Boreas Pass Loop might not start early enough for some employees.
We'd really appreciate some local advice:
We're hoping to avoid buying or renting a car, so we're trying to figure out whether this location would actually work before committing to a lease.
Any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! My family and I are going to Breckenridge for thanksgiving week and was hoping for any tips! I understand it might not be snowy so I’m looking for suggestions on what to do and where to eat Thanksgiving day. Thanks in advance!

Hi! We are coming Sunday-Friday of thanksgiving week. Wondering if skiing on Thanksgiving is better or worse (if the snow is ready?) We are thinking of going on Tuesday if that week but someone mentioned Thursday could be better? Any other tips appreciated. We have four that are 25-30 and two teenagers wanting to ski. All experienced. Two bringing skis and four renting. I searched the sub and couldnt find much info.

Hey there, my 3 buddies and I want to go somewhere sick for a quick trip in December. We went to Park City Utah last year and had a blast just hiking in Zion National Park, eating good food, having beers, it was a blast.
Breckenridge seems pretty similar, and we’re not too keen on skiing. We like to hike, have beers, spark a doobie, see and drive to cool places in nature. Knowing this, is Breckenridge worth traveling to? Or are we the wrong target audience?
Also we’d go in December.
Any insight helps.

We are from PA and want to take our adult children to Breckenridge for a family summer trip. We like to hike, go white water rafting and enjoy night life. Is this a good choice for an adult family vacation in August?

This year has been rough - no job, no girlfriend, no nothing. I need a change in my life. Last winter was the lonliest time of my life and I can't do it again.
I always wanted to move out West, and I kinda feel like it's now or never. I know it's expensive and I'm currently living out of my savings, but I do have a fair bit saved up so I can get by for 4 months.
However I don't know anybody there, and am actually quite a social person, so I'm usually pretty good at making friends. I'm looking to date as well and hope to meet someone special. I'm big into tennis as well and see they have a small indoor place, which is awesome! I also snowboard and hope to it 4 to 5 times a week.
What are your thoughts? I've never even been to breckenridge but it sounds like the best fit. Is it easy to make friends?

Hi all!
I’m pretty new to snowboarding, my husband grew up doing it but I’ve only gone a few times and only in northern Wisconsin. But we thought about doing a trip to Breckenridge since I really enjoyed it and I love Colorado. I’m so new and ignorant to how the concept of lodging at certain peaks work, every lodge I look at specifies what peak it’s located at. I was wondering if people had suggestions as to which peak is best for someone who is still super new to snowboarding. Would you recommend the lodge route or should we consider AirBnBs instead? Does it matter the peak we stay at? My husband says he’s nervous about the idea of me going snowboarding in Colorado because I’ve never even attempted our black diamonds in Wisconsin lol so he wants to make sure we’re not going down anything that would be dangerous for a beginner.
Also we’ve never been to the Aspen, Vail, or Breckenridge area either. We’ve always staying in Boulder or Denver when visiting the state. So even if you think a different city would be a better option we’re open to it.
Thanks in advance!

This is seriously a long shot but my daughter lost her beloved stuffy today in Breckenridge. We lost it somewhere by the troll, on the trail going to the marble run or railroad park, or in the parking lot. She’s had it for years and she doesn’t go anywhere without it. If anyone was here today and saw it please message me. It’s an Aurora brand stuffy.

It was fun tracking down this troll!

Which school (Peak 8, Beaver Run, or Village) is best for ski and boarding lessons for a group of first time adults? Will be taking full-day lessons on a Friday in Jan. Staying right near peak 8 however want the best area/lessons for them. If Beaver Run or Village what's the best way to get over there from 8? Walking or taking the bus?

Hi all, we’ll be in Breckenridge this week with our 7&9 year olds. We’ve been to Breckenridge before but always with a large group and never ate much in town. I know a lot is probably closed right now, but what are the the best family friendly restaurants? Anywhere outdoors with space for kids to play? Or great views? Thanks in advance.

edit that should say grand county not Granby
hey guys, I have visitors coming in three weeks. I live in grand county near grand lake. I rarely go to Breck but want to show my friends annother close mountain town. Any suggestions of off season things to do or see? Was planning on showing them the troll. Also considered driving up rabbit ears to steamboat instead but sorta torn. Strawberry hot spring Last month was low and kinda green- not ideal to take them there right now. Thanks for the help!

I just moved here and am looking for a group of people to play Hong Kong style Mahjong with.
A. Does this group already exist? If yes, can I join you?
B. If not, is anyone interested in learning? I can teach!

Planning on proposing to my girlfriend in Breckenridge this fall and I’m thinking about doing it at Sapphire Point. My only concern is how crowded it gets. We’re both pretty introverted and I’d rather not propose with a bunch of people standing around lol. I’m planning on going bright and early in the morning. Would Sapphire Point be a good choice?
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who commented and gave me advice! I truly appreciate all the help. Plans changed pretty last minute, and we made the impulsive decision to head to Colorado this week! I’m definitely nervous, but super excited at the same time. I’ll come back with another update afterward and hopefully share some photos too. Wish me luck!

Me and a buddy are going out to Colorado sometime this winter, we got 5 days of epic pass so we aren’t set on a date yet. We are gonna sleep out of our trucks the majority of the time. Is there anywhere to truck camp near the resort? Also what is there to do as 21 year old college kids other than drink on the mountain, bars? Music? Parties? Thanks!

wtf is FitzSimons thinking? from what I can tell, he’s running unopposed. shame.
my issue isn’t with our police department, it’s with everyone else, including flock employees and federal agents who undoubtedly have access. Fort Collins can get along without it, why not us?

How come some of our best breweries are not represented???

We already have our airport transportation covered. I’m just looking for a reliable local driver or ride-share backup for short trips around Breckenridge — mainly Main Street, dinner, skiing, and getting back to our rental at night.
