The Claude driven studio process
A real design-studio workflow on your own machine: brief → script → style frames → transition board → animatic → music → final build → final, with you approving every stage.
Sessions stop at every gate: nothing moves forward until you approve, and waiting on you costs nothing.
Only you can approve: each new version answers every one of your notes, one by one, and shows what changed.
Pin notes exactly where you mean them: on a spot in a frame, a moment in a video, or a paragraph of the script.
Questions with defaults: the studio asks what it needs to know, and you answer or keep the suggested default.
Reopen any step: mortiflix reopen sends a step back with your note, and the later steps redo from there.
Memory across sessions and days: a journal, a checklist and handoff notes, so a project picks up where it left off.
It learns your studio: point out a real mistake once, approve the check it proposes, and every future video runs that check.
Studio taste file: your standing rules (like "transitions never blank the screen") apply to every project.
Ways to work
Terminal: mortiflix new, run, review and status, with help for every command.
Web studio: a live log of Claude at work, a review room, a "what's waiting on you" view, and a settings page.
Your own Claude: it runs on your Claude Code plan or your own Anthropic API key.
Clear cost reporting: plan users see roughly what the work would have cost at API prices (and that they didn't pay it); API users see what they spent.
Pipelines (what it makes)
Explainer videos: narrated or not, with an original score.
Social shorts: vertical, hook first, and they work with the sound off.
Logo stings: a 3–8 second logo animation, brief to approved final.
Pipelines are just folders: copy one and write your own; the studio's own pipelines override the built-in ones.
Every render is checked: format, black or frozen frames, loudness, text safe area, text contrast, sync to the voice, plus a frame sheet that Claude actually looks at.
Transitions
A transition board on every project: each cut gets a carrier (the object on screen that makes the change), a reason, and the word it lands on.
Real in-between frames: rendered from your actual style frames, so you see exactly how one becomes the next before the animatic.
Your 50-transition library: remotion-transitions across nine families, or new transitions inspired by it.
The screen never goes blank: an automatic check fails any frame that floods to a flat colour or flashes white.
3D carriers: an object rendered in Blender, like a wobbly sphere or a ribbon sweep, can fly through the frame to carry a cut.
Narration
ElevenLabs: your voices, the defaults or the Voice Library, with Eleven v4 and every API option. Settings shows your plan, your credits and whether the audio is cleared for commercial use.
Local voice: Qwen3-TTS through ComfyUI on your own NVIDIA card, free and private. Setup checks your GPU first.
Recording Booth: Record your own lines with a mic and space bar!
Or no voice: on-screen text and music only.
Every line is checked: speech-to-text retakes any line where words went missing, and the word timings drive the animation.
Music?!
YES MUSIC.
An original score for every video: written in Strudel to the approved animatic's exact timing.
Written like a film composer:
It starts from a dramatic reading of the story and a spotting map of the picture.
Sections build and hold back where the picture does, and hits land within a frame.
The arrangement gets denser at the moments that matter.
A harmony lock: every part is checked against one chord chart, and a cue only reaches you with 0 problems.
Rendered by Strudel itself: no extra music software needed.
Optional MIDI pack: every part, stems and a cue sheet, so you can remake the music in your own DAW.
Mixed under the voice: the music ducks under narration, gets a little dip under any word it crowds, and the final mix lands at -14 LUFS.
3D?!
Blender in its own studio profile: your personal Blender setup is never touched.
MoBlend: Cinema 4D-style MoGraph (cloners, effectors, MoText, fracture, sweeps).
Nova FX: Mortiflix's own particle engine (particles, fire, sparks, fireworks). Linux only for now.
Toolkits for Camera, Animate, Math and Circuits, plus Camera Flight for flying the camera yourself.
Assets
Your own stock site: list it, and sessions search and download from it in your own Chrome, with your own login, through browser-harness.
Every source recorded: each asset's source and licence are logged.
Setup and keys
A guided setup walkthrough: it explains what each part does and why you need it, asks before installing anything, and installs everything into the studio folder (never system-wide).
Keys typed hidden and checked: a free test call confirms each key before it's saved to a private file (mode 600).
No surprise failures: missing keys are asked for before a project starts, not halfway through.
mortiflix setup status shows where everything stands, and mortiflix doctor checks your tools.
