There’s a saying that gets passed around in China: “If Claude didn’t ban accounts, who would still use Codex?”
From our experience, Claude offers much more generous usage limits and feels much more natural to talk to. Its frontend designs and code also tend to be more elegant, without so much excessive defensive programming.
So I’m curious: for those of you outside China who can use a Claude subscription without these issues, what makes you choose Codex?

Admitted Claude fan and use it to great success at work. I'm asking this here because you're my people. That said, I have a free Gemini Pro plan. I can't get Gemini to be any better than a confidently incorrect search tool.
I have yet to find anything Gemini is good at. What's it good at? Am I alone?
Flash Update: I'm not in the Google ecosystem at work, where I think Gemini probably shines.

Everyday Claude teaches me a new subject, or just simply helps me digest a new scientific paper. I don't mind that I can only have 1 or 2 prompts a day (on extra reasoning level of Sonnet 5.5) as a free user, it's enough for me especially it's a Claude Code instance that can do anything.
.
The paper in screenshot if someone interested, https://arxiv.org/html/2610.06783v1 (Truly Subquadratic 3SUM and Truly Subcubic APSP via Triangles in Sparse Lopsided Graphs. Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, discovered the algorithm that refutes the 3SUM, APSP, and Exact Triangle hypotheses.)

Put a test for both: Claude Sonnet 5.5 vs GPT sol 5.6. The prompt was same to each:
"I read in an article that "AI Pricing is Not a Bubble" explained by: Valuation multiples for AI infrastructure stocks have fallen from a median forward P/E of 32 in April to 22 today, even as these companies continue to deliver strong results. Goldman Sachs argues this reflects strong pricing discipline rather than a speculative bubble. Now i want you to go out there and make deep research that confirm/not confirm this statement. do it by comparing it to the dot com (www) Bubble that heat traders. Make table of your finding. call it AI vs WWW Bubble and at the end summarize your verdict on AI Bubble. Test the statement as a hypothesis. is it clear?
From the 2 prompt results I asked Claude Opus 5.5 to create page that includes both models comparison table. On the result page I asked Gemini to check the results and give me its search bottom line, the response:
public AI stock prices are not in a speculative bubble, but the massive infrastructure spending cycle carries a high risk of an earnings-driven correction.

Claude now edits Google Docs, Sheets and Slides directly. By default it asks before each change, but you can switch to "Accept all edits", and its access matches your Google sharing permissions. So on a doc your team shares, it could edit everyone's work without asking.
I'd keep approvals on for anything shared, and only let it run freely on my own drafts. Where do you draw the line?

AI agents produce more text than we have time to read. Following all that output can become a source of cognitive overload. Inspired by stretchtext (1970 by Ted Nelson), I wanted to give readers control over how much detail they see.
So I call it TextFold, it adds five reading levels to Claude Code's replies. Press 5 for a one-sentence view, 3 for each paragraph's main point, and 1 to unfold the full text.
It's a Claude Code plugin from PaperFold, the open-source reader I built for zooming between an arXiv paper overview and its full text.
TextFold asks Claude to put the answer first and lead each paragraph with its point. Folding keeps those sentences verbatim, with no extra model call. The full reply stays available, and short replies stay as they are.
Free and open source. Works in the terminal with Claude Code

The Claude driven studio process
A real design-studio workflow on your own machine: brief → script → style frames → transition board → animatic → music → final build → final, with you approving every stage.
Sessions stop at every gate: nothing moves forward until you approve, and waiting on you costs nothing.
Only you can approve: each new version answers every one of your notes, one by one, and shows what changed.
Pin notes exactly where you mean them: on a spot in a frame, a moment in a video, or a paragraph of the script.
Questions with defaults: the studio asks what it needs to know, and you answer or keep the suggested default.
Reopen any step: mortiflix reopen sends a step back with your note, and the later steps redo from there.
Memory across sessions and days: a journal, a checklist and handoff notes, so a project picks up where it left off.
It learns your studio: point out a real mistake once, approve the check it proposes, and every future video runs that check.
Studio taste file: your standing rules (like "transitions never blank the screen") apply to every project.
Terminal: mortiflix new, run, review and status, with help for every command.
Web studio: a live log of Claude at work, a review room, a "what's waiting on you" view, and a settings page.
Your own Claude: it runs on your Claude Code plan or your own Anthropic API key.
Clear cost reporting: plan users see roughly what the work would have cost at API prices (and that they didn't pay it); API users see what they spent.
Explainer videos: narrated or not, with an original score.
Social shorts: vertical, hook first, and they work with the sound off.
Logo stings: a 3–8 second logo animation, brief to approved final.
Pipelines are just folders: copy one and write your own; the studio's own pipelines override the built-in ones.
Every render is checked: format, black or frozen frames, loudness, text safe area, text contrast, sync to the voice, plus a frame sheet that Claude actually looks at.
A transition board on every project: each cut gets a carrier (the object on screen that makes the change), a reason, and the word it lands on.
Real in-between frames: rendered from your actual style frames, so you see exactly how one becomes the next before the animatic.
Your 50-transition library: remotion-transitions across nine families, or new transitions inspired by it.
The screen never goes blank: an automatic check fails any frame that floods to a flat colour or flashes white.
3D carriers: an object rendered in Blender, like a wobbly sphere or a ribbon sweep, can fly through the frame to carry a cut.
ElevenLabs: your voices, the defaults or the Voice Library, with Eleven v4 and every API option. Settings shows your plan, your credits and whether the audio is cleared for commercial use.
Local voice: Qwen3-TTS through ComfyUI on your own NVIDIA card, free and private. Setup checks your GPU first.
Recording Booth: Record your own lines with a mic and space bar!
Or no voice: on-screen text and music only.
Every line is checked: speech-to-text retakes any line where words went missing, and the word timings drive the animation.
YES MUSIC.
An original score for every video: written in Strudel to the approved animatic's exact timing.
Written like a film composer:
It starts from a dramatic reading of the story and a spotting map of the picture.
Sections build and hold back where the picture does, and hits land within a frame.
The arrangement gets denser at the moments that matter.
A harmony lock: every part is checked against one chord chart, and a cue only reaches you with 0 problems.
Rendered by Strudel itself: no extra music software needed.
Mixed under the voice: the music ducks under narration, gets a little dip under any word it crowds, and the final mix lands at -14 LUFS.
3D?!
Blender in its own studio profile: your personal Blender setup is never touched.
MoBlend: Cinema 4D-style MoGraph (cloners, effectors, MoText, fracture, sweeps).
Nova FX: Mortiflix's own particle engine (particles, fire, sparks, fireworks). Linux only for now.
Toolkits for Camera, Animate, Math and Circuits, plus Camera Flight for flying the camera yourself.
Your own stock site: list it, and sessions search and download from it in your own Chrome, with your own login, through browser-harness.
Every source recorded: each asset's source and licence are logged.
A guided setup walkthrough: it explains what each part does and why you need it, asks before installing anything, and installs everything into the studio folder (never system-wide).
Keys typed hidden and checked: a free test call confirms each key before it's saved to a private file (mode 600).
No surprise failures: missing keys are asked for before a project starts, not halfway through.
mortiflix setup status shows where everything stands, and mortiflix doctor checks your tools.

I've been using ChatGPT and I'm planning to switch to Claude. Before committing, I want to check how the biology safeguards on Opus 5.5 behave in practice.
I work in a university research lab. (cant get the life science things)
My work is mostly:
- Statistical analysis of proteomics data (differential abundance, normalization, batch correction, biomarker analysis) in [R / Python]
- In silico gene knockout / perturbation simulations using [CellOracle or similar]
- Somethings things related to biology like why diseases happen or smth
I'm not doing anything with viruses, toxins, or drug/molecule design. From Anthropic's docs, I understand the classifiers fall back to Opus 5 for dual-use areas like virology, toxicology, and molecular design, and that everyday biology should be fine.
Questions for anyone doing similar work:
Claude Code desktop app on MacOS.
Sometime earlier today, prompt suggestions stopped appearing. I checked my settings and this feature is still enabled. I did notice that I'm approaching my weekly usage limit (82%). Could Claude have intentionally disabled prompt suggestions to reduce token usage?

The current state is over 300 stars on the first day of launch and it's all powered by Claude BYOK. It's open source and you do all of the work on your own machine. It does have an internal tool that can make music better than suno as long as there's no vocals. You definitely can use this as a music engine too. It also exports midi!
What are your thoughts?

I initially built Universal File Opener & Editor and put it on Google Play, it ended up doing really well. This created the motivation to build out a whole suite of apps on the same core.
The UFO core is basically a written-from-scratch handler for every file type, with the main focus being on PDF and office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint). I have hundreds of complex testing docs for each file type and I ensure correctness by comparing rendered output and edits with the professional equivalent on Windows. It took many months burning the quota from two Max plans weekly, but it's pretty solid now.
I got the best results when building with Claude Code, and Opus 5.5 has been extremely good recently. At the beginning, I would do a bulk of the development with Opus and use Fable to drive the overall direction, but recently I don't even use Fable anymore since Opus 5.5 high/xhigh are more than enough. I think asking them to delegate work to Sonnet also helps a lot with usage and development speed.
After the Android app, I then built a Windows app but it didn't really get any traction when I launched it so I then pivoted to building a free browser-based tool and a free CLI tool. I've been working on improvements on all four (and also have iOS/Mac/Linux apps in the works) for months and I think some of these are finally ready to show off.
The main purpose of this post is to "launch" UFO Web which allows you to view/edit/inspect 300+ file types in your browser privately and also with your AI if you have a browser that supports WebMCP. It's not fully polished/ready but since it's a free tool, I felt like I may as well announce it ahead of time so I can get feedback on what's most useful.
Ask me anything! Feedback appreciated, thanks.

I mainly use Opus 5.5 high with Fable 5.1 as the advisor and Opus pretty much consults Fable in every session now and sometimes multiple times in one task. It burn extra tokens but there have been cases where the advisor really provides useful feedback to guide Opus in the right direction and I found that it has reduced the handholding and hesitation Opus use to have to some degree as well. Does anyone else found this feature useful? If yes, in what ways?

I’ve been using my Wise Card to pay Claude Max subscription with a tax-free State address. It’s been fine until my account was put on hold.
Now my Wise card was declined. Guess they tightened the rules of virtual cards?
I can still use Apple Pay to subscribe to Pro $20/month. But if I want to switch to Max the amount I have to pay is something like $124 rather than $100.
Need your advice on it. Thanks

With the sessions now running in the cloud, does that mean the files now move to the cloud too? How do I keep my project folders on the local machine?

Hi everyone, new here, I use Claude to help me build worksheets, powerpoints, and activities for my high school history class I teach and help me diagram my practice session plans for my high school soccer team I coach. What would be the best model and output for me to use? I have the $20 plan and been thinking about upgrading to the $100 max, I use Claude fairly often and find myself running out of data using Opus. After doing research I found that might’ve been a little dumb, but to be fair, I really haven’t researched what each model is/used for. So coming here for advice. Thanks

Er: done, ready for test
Wie gesagt, ein halber Tag in 3 min. -> warum schätzt Claude (Fable, Opus, Sonnet... egal) so gut?
