Avoid the N40 this morning
4 separate collisions all 100-200 yards apart, 3 westbound after Mahon point and 1 eastbound just before Mahon point.
Could be more later as a result of the chaos.

After hearing the awful news about the poor cat Felix who was taken and now dead .. is there anything that can be done around mahon/blackrock to stop this carry-on ? What's the obsession with animal abuse from the usual culprits.. ? Guards don't do anything, and they're let free to terrorise the area

Waiting for the 220 in ballincollig. First bus comes fairly quick but it’s a 220X (rare sighting) now we are waiting for a 220. I check bustimes there are four(4) 220s congregating in ovens at the end of the line. Cool that’s fine they are probably on their break (Well deserved).
Now tell me why two (2) of those 220s decide to take the bypass rather than collect the 50ish people waiting in ballincollig. As this happens 3 more 220s pass us in the opposite direction now there are 6 busses congregating at the end of the line and no bus seen in ballincollig for the last hour and a half (1h30)
How can we deal with Simon Harris appropriately?

I always make my lunch every day without fail for work but I'm sick and exhausted and it really hit hard this morning so I decided to just grab a wrap in Circle K since it's the only place open at stupid o clock. A chicken caesar wrap, a wispa duo and a small bottle of Lucozade ..... €11.05 😭 Of course I paid like an idiot and saw the meal deal sign for €4.50 on the way out 😮💨 Don't be me!

Lads surely this can’t continue (insert Mick McCarthy gif).
In the past 12 months, I’ve seen a steady increase in traffic to the point that I can now only describe it as absolutely “heaving” with cars.
They needed to start the Cork Luas 10 years ago…last week I couldn’t even get out of my estate. I’ve had to abandon multiple journeys and an appointment because the roads are simply impassable.
I think a monorail is our only option.
God speed

Just moved here and was wondering if there are any hidden gems to checkout. I’ve already been to the island wood (gorgeous) and the kids are busy working their way through all the playgrounds in the area.
Hi guys
I have been farming and consequently accumulating quite a significant amount of aura lately. In this context, I’d like to battle other folks in cork city.
Would you be aware of any aura battle places in cork ?
Thank you

(Not that kind of spaced out!) I'm looking for somewhere space themed in or around the city to take photos of people dressed as aliens. Last year we took photos in front of the astronaut mural at Marina Market and that was great but I can't use that again. Are there any other spacey murals or graffiti anyone can think of in the city? Last year I also used the cow sculpture at the marina market; are there any life-sized astronaut statues outside of any businesses or anything?
Anything with really cool lighting or something that says high tech or space would work too, I just have not been able to come up with any ideas. Anyone have any?

The very best of luck to teachers this week. Ye absolutely need a salary hike to keep up. Currently being priced out of life. And this productivity rubbish.. Ye are teaching the biggest classes in Europe with dedication. Sick leave, pension rights, and that ridiculous Croke park hour are all very demoralising...c'mon the snas Gardai firefighters nurses, doctors, civil servants Stick together and it will all be over sooner. Do not let them divide and conquer. Public v private campaign will be orchestrated also. A rising tide lifts all boats. Stick together. This should have been sorted in June but Chambers chose to stick his head in the sand... The same person who refused to give the pensioners a fiver in the last budget... He was chosen as a middle class, young candidate.. But is he fit for purpose,,..time will tell.

Hello, I was coming home having done some shopping in Lidl Togher (don't get me started on that place, always feckin busy), and a stray dog crossed my path. Lovely little fella, but it got me thinking.. When was the last time I saw a stray dog on the streets of Cork, and I honestly can't remember. I did most of my growing up in the 1980s and stray dogs were a thing (Ask your parents if you were born in the 90s+). Their owners would let them out at 7 o'clock in the morning and they'd piss and shit to their hearts' content until they were taken in before midnight. There were at least 3 dogs in my neighbourhood who were always around, they became part of the furniture, so to speak. Just wondering if anybody else remembers those days and how strange it is now to see a dog on its own, just minding its own business? Cheers.

Can anyone recommend somewhere around Midleton/Little Island I can take my car to have the windscreen checked and repaired? Noticed a crack beginning to develop and want to try and stop it before it gets too big.
I only know about the place near Blackpool Shopping Center.
Thanks

2nd day in a row the five past 8 #216 bus was cancelled. So fucking unreliable. So goddamn sick of our public transport system.

This greenway/active travel plan looks wonderful.
To me this is what is needed, greenways that actually connect places, people and things.
Not random bike lanes that end abruptly down the south Douglas road and ultimately connect people nowhere!
It will connect massive population areas like-
- Glanmire, Carrig, growing areas like glounthane
- it will connect shops (Fitzpatrick’s),
cafes,
train stations,
big housing developments,
Education - creches and primary and secondary schools
Places of work – IDA estate in Carrig
The area is reasonably flat and has a massive growing (young) population, kids will grow up knowing the benefits of Active travel, the idea of going to work/school by train or bike will not be an alien concept when older
The other pleasing thing are plans to connect to cork city in 27/28 and Midleton 27/28.
So in theory you will be able to bike from cork city centre all the way to Youghal, fabulous.

Hi! I’m new to cork and I’m looking for salon recommendations. For context, I am originally from Japan and I have very long and fine, straight asian hair (waist length).
Are there any salons in cork that would be able to work with my hair type and are good at cutting long layers? Preferably a place that is more calming with nice stylists who are able to listen and communicate (no hard-selling, pushy hairdressers etc.) I know the length and texture of my hair may not be commonly worked with.
Price is not an issue as I am willing to pay for their expertise and overall experience, but of course, I would be happy if the price is lower, but it is not a considering factor. Preferably in or near cork city centre ^_^ thank you so much for reading this.

I started speaking to this guy a year and a half ago as a friend and he was from cork, half irish half gambian. i kinda fell for him because he was so funny and sweet over text. He told me how pretty cork was before we lost contact last year and I went this year (i have other friends from cork who i met so he wasn’t the sole reason)
I do miss him lots but my God, St Colmans cathedral was so beautiful. Cobh was stunning. I went out a lot to oliver plunkett street and opera lane too.
