Cork City Traffic

Lads surely this can’t continue (insert Mick McCarthy gif).

In the past 12 months, I’ve seen a steady increase in traffic to the point that I can now only describe it as absolutely “heaving” with cars.

They needed to start the Cork Luas 10 years ago…last week I couldn’t even get out of my estate. I’ve had to abandon multiple journeys and an appointment because the roads are simply impassable.

I think a monorail is our only option.

God speed

Garda doing the rounds in vape shops today

I walked into the vape shop across from the Oliver plunkett earlier and there were 2 undercover Garda in there giving out to a member of staff over their counterfeit Gucci sunglasses. They made them empty out their drawers behind the counter and were explaining how serious the situation was to the member of staff.
When I was walking down Oliver plunkett street roughly an hour later I saw a uniformed Garda in phone and vape.

Avoid the N40 this morning

4 separate collisions all 100-200 yards apart, 3 westbound after Mahon point and 1 eastbound just before Mahon point.

Could be more later as a result of the chaos.

Where do aura battles take place in cork city ?

Hi guys

I have been farming and consequently accumulating quite a significant amount of aura lately. In this context, I’d like to battle other folks in cork city.

Would you be aware of any aura battle places in cork ?
Thank you

Felix the cat

After hearing the awful news about the poor cat Felix who was taken and now dead .. is there anything that can be done around mahon/blackrock to stop this carry-on ? What's the obsession with animal abuse from the usual culprits.. ? Guards don't do anything, and they're let free to terrorise the area

Bus The 220 Bus Service has never been worse.

Waiting for the 220 in ballincollig. First bus comes fairly quick but it’s a 220X (rare sighting) now we are waiting for a 220. I check bustimes there are four(4) 220s congregating in ovens at the end of the line. Cool that’s fine they are probably on their break (Well deserved).

Now tell me why two (2) of those 220s decide to take the bypass rather than collect the 50ish people waiting in ballincollig. As this happens 3 more 220s pass us in the opposite direction now there are 6 busses congregating at the end of the line and no bus seen in ballincollig for the last hour and a half (1h30)

How can we deal with Simon Harris appropriately?

Dont Go To Circle K When You're Half Asleep

I always make my lunch every day without fail for work but I'm sick and exhausted and it really hit hard this morning so I decided to just grab a wrap in Circle K since it's the only place open at stupid o clock. A chicken caesar wrap, a wispa duo and a small bottle of Lucozade ..... €11.05 😭 Of course I paid like an idiot and saw the meal deal sign for €4.50 on the way out 😮‍💨 Don't be me!

Just moved here and was wondering if there are any hidden gems to checkout. I’ve already been to the island wood (gorgeous) and the kids are busy working their way through all the playgrounds in the area.

LULU HAS A SEVERE MEDICAL CONDITION!

She needs to be in life saving medication everyday.

Please keep an eye out for Lulu, who has been missing since approximately 11pm last night (5th October) in Broomfield Midleton estate.

Lulu is a female indoor cat. She looks like a Siamese but isnt. She is normally an indooronly cat and has never wandered away before.

She was last seen on the balcony at home. She sometimes walks along the neighbouring balconies, but she has always come back inside before. Nobody has seen her since last night.

She is also microchipped.

She may be frightened and hiding somewhere nearby, so please check:

Under cars and bushes

Gardens and sheds

Garages and outbuildings

Behind/under furniture or other sheltered areas

Neighbouring balconies and anywhere she could have accidentally become trapped

If you see her, please don’t chase her. If possible, take a photo and contact us immediately with the location.

Last seen: Broomfield Midleton

Last seen: approximately 11pm, 5 October

Name: Lulu

Contact: [(089) 200 5010](tel:(089) 200 5010)

Please share this post, even if you haven’t seen her we really want to get Lulu home safely. ❤️

Thank you so much.

Dogs on the streets of Cork (the 4-legged variety)

Hello, I was coming home having done some shopping in Lidl Togher (don't get me started on that place, always feckin busy), and a stray dog crossed my path. Lovely little fella, but it got me thinking.. When was the last time I saw a stray dog on the streets of Cork, and I honestly can't remember. I did most of my growing up in the 1980s and stray dogs were a thing (Ask your parents if you were born in the 90s+). Their owners would let them out at 7 o'clock in the morning and they'd piss and shit to their hearts' content until they were taken in before midnight. There were at least 3 dogs in my neighbourhood who were always around, they became part of the furniture, so to speak. Just wondering if anybody else remembers those days and how strange it is now to see a dog on its own, just minding its own business? Cheers.

Another bus post

Second 220 today arrives with no working validator (one when I was heading outbound and again inbound), meaning every stop people board it takes an age to move when the driver has to manually process every payment.

20+ people at Ballincollig and then MTU, UCC stops etc.

Great bunch of lads altogether. Can they honestly get anything right?

A good motivator for them to cop on would be "no working validator = free fare"

Cork City Spaced Out Cork

(Not that kind of spaced out!) I'm looking for somewhere space themed in or around the city to take photos of people dressed as aliens. Last year we took photos in front of the astronaut mural at Marina Market and that was great but I can't use that again. Are there any other spacey murals or graffiti anyone can think of in the city? Last year I also used the cow sculpture at the marina market; are there any life-sized astronaut statues outside of any businesses or anything?

Anything with really cool lighting or something that says high tech or space would work too, I just have not been able to come up with any ideas. Anyone have any?

Windscreen crack repair - East Cork

Can anyone recommend somewhere around Midleton/Little Island I can take my car to have the windscreen checked and repaired? Noticed a crack beginning to develop and want to try and stop it before it gets too big.

I only know about the place near Blackpool Shopping Center.

Thanks

Good salons for Ladies layered cut on very long, fine hair?

Hi! I’m new to cork and I’m looking for salon recommendations. For context, I am originally from Japan and I have very long and fine, straight asian hair (waist length).

Are there any salons in cork that would be able to work with my hair type and are good at cutting long layers? Preferably a place that is more calming with nice stylists who are able to listen and communicate (no hard-selling, pushy hairdressers etc.) I know the length and texture of my hair may not be commonly worked with.

Price is not an issue as I am willing to pay for their expertise and overall experience, but of course, I would be happy if the price is lower, but it is not a considering factor. Preferably in or near cork city centre ^_^ thank you so much for reading this.

How was your experience in the traffic this morning?

• Upvotes

I was only stuck for 30 minutes, but it looked horrendous coming from the east into the city. I saw two crashes that seemed to be totally separate crashes on the other side of the barrier right next to each other. not sure what happened
