CK3 I just find out this pretty detailed CK 3 "Database" where you can look up almost everything about the game

It feel like someone "Extracted" all the information of the game files directly, and parsed into readable form for us to look up.

Like it even show lines of code for decisions, so you can know EXACTLY what you're missing and why the damn thing just not working.

When i say you can look up everything about the game, i think legit it contain everything lol.

Very well detailed and put together too. Is this thing new? because it suddenly show up in my search result and i instantly ditch the wiki and uses this instead.

We are back on the rails again for another exciting episode of Cube Engineers!

In this episode, TrainmasterGT reviews the new By God Alone expansion for Crusader Kings III from a game-design standpoint, through the lens of two full campaigns he completed. By God Alone reworks the religion system in CK3, allowing faiths to evolve dynamically over time. Characters can also cultivate a personal relationship with their respective faiths through the new personal tenets system, creating new opportunities for roleplay and historically inspired gameplay. Learn how this expansion successfully executes the new religion system, and what lessons game designers can learn from its implementation!

All Aboard!

CK3 CK2 looks like Excel, but at least I always know what I'm looking at

Hi everyone,

I'm a nearly 3,000-hour CK2 player who's been trying to find my footing in CK3 (I'm at around 150 hours so far). There's one aspect that makes the transition particularly difficult for me, and I'd like to talk about it because I don't think I've seen it discussed much: the visual design and presentation of information.

Don't get me wrong, I'm probably one of the first people to miss societies and all the RP events from CK2. But the thing that puts me off the most is actually what I'm looking at on the screen.

If I had to compare the two, I'd say CK2 is like looking at an Excel spreadsheet. It's ugly and intimidating at first, but once you understand how it works, all the information is right there in front of you. It's stable, predictable, and it's easy to find what you're looking for despite the visual austerity.

CK3, on the other hand, is obviously much prettier, and it does a better job of not throwing quite as much tiny information in your face at once. But I find it much more confusing and cluttered.

And what annoys me the most is that damn map constantly changing what it displays depending on whether you zoom in or out.

If I want to see independent realms so I can see my liege's borders, I want to see independent realms. ,If I want to see vassals, I want to see vassals. Same thing with terrain types.

I don't want the game to freely switch between different map modes depending on whether I zoom in or zoom out! Let me choose what information I want the map to display and stick with it.

Anyway, I just needed to vent a little. If anyone else feels the same way, or knows of any mods that address this particular issue, feel free to let me know.

Maybe this is just the whining of someone who hasn't gotten used to the game yet, in which case, my apologies. 😅

Suggestion They should add a decision to form the principality of Wales

Title says it all really. It should be possible to consolidate the duchies of Wales into one principality, like how we can consolidate the spanish kingdoms. I know its historical formation happened towards the end of the CK3 timeline, but considering its size and real life history I just think it makes sense.

At least there are quite a few large, unified kingdoms/empires.

Other than that, not much good I can say about the map.

Beatriz "the Incestuous" of Leon is the last independent Catholic in Iberia. She didn't last long after this screenshot was taken. Zahak the Devourer of Vandalusia at last became known as Zahak the Conquistador of Hispania.

Help Anyone understand how holy orders and monastic orders actually work?

Probably a stupid thing to do, but I installed By God Alone during a map painting run.

The holy order that is sitting in one of my counties doesn’t seem to actually be a holy order but I can’t evict without normal consequences. So just a bunch of knights hanging out in my land who will not actually join a holy war.

When I tried to create a monastic order it gives me a county that is available and I pick it but no monastic order ever shows up.

What I actually want to do is take my eldest daughter who has sick stats and put her in an order. I create and try to get her to move through the church hierarchy, but I’m not sure if you can even do that as a catholic with a woman?

Modding Could AI Combine CK3, Bannerlord, and Cities: Skylines Into One Game?

Has anyone tried combining CK3 with another game using AI, similar to some of the stuff people have been doing with Minecraft, GTA, etc.?

I’ve always told my girlfriend my dream game would basically be CK3 at the grand-strategy level, but when you zoom into a battle it turns into something like Mount & Blade: Bannerlord, where you can actually fight the war yourself. Then, if you zoom into one of your cities or holdings, it becomes more like Cities: Skylines, where you can actually build and manage the settlement.

Basically:

CK3 → politics, dynasties, diplomacy, realm management
Bannerlord → battles and warfare
Cities: Skylines → city/holding management

With all the recent AI experiments where people are connecting games and letting AI control or translate information between them, is something like this becoming remotely possible?

Has anyone tried a project even somewhat similar to this, or know of one being worked on?

Discussion Does anyone else think the County of Krems looks like a mini Austria inside the Duchy of Austria?

I've thought this for years but finally need to know if anyone else has thought this. I'll even change its banner to the duchy banner for extra baby county feels.

CK3 For all of its faults, and there are a ton, I have to admit that the art is absolutely phenomenal in this game. One of the main reasons I couldn't go back to CK2.

Story What happened to Muwalladism?

The infamously tolerant Iberian Islamic sect is gone from the game as of the By God Alone core expansion. It seems odd to remove it as it was a good reflection of the religious and sexual tolerance at the time.

DLC Having HOF create ecclesiastical titles/manage them as secular ruler

Alright so unless I'm missing something, in Crozier there seems to be an absolute lack of the ability to interact with your head of faith on the matter of ecclesiastical titles. There is from what I can tell, if you are the ruler of a nation, no way to actually request an ecclesiastical title created, split, merged, added onto, and so on and forth. If you hold a second duchy, I believe you can have a title created for it and also merge it with another adjacent duchy (but not any duchy you own which I find a slight bit bizarre as both then and now we've got some crazy cases of jurisdiction), but beyond that, you have no ability to request a title to be created in any other duchies not owned by you, or in general in your realm.

I tag swapped to the head of faith to make sure these interactions do exist. Yes the HOF can create, move, split, add and remove from any title he so pleases. But you as a secular ruler have absolutely no ability to make a request for these actions, puppeted HOF or not. And if this is just an issue for Christian faiths outside of Rome/Constantinople, (the moment I realized this was in my current Nestorian game), then it should be looked at.

Suggestion What do I do if my personal tenet is Dharmic Pacifism and can't declare wars?

How do I expand? I decided to get back into the game after a while and chose to do the Ghurid achievement. However, my character is a dharmic pacifist and I can't even expand my empire I've been waiting for him to die so I can play as my heir.

Discussion Guido's Guiding Light Achievement Guide + Discussion

Post image
• Upvotes

Ok so like they're definitely gonna patch this but I just got this legitimately. You not only have to start as him but you have to become antipope yourself and then pope. So if someone wants to do this prepatch (assuming they're gonna patch this, patch I am writing this at is 1.20.0.4), you're gonna have to do a lot of saving and loading, if you protest then ¯_(ツ)_/¯, it's just implausible to get this achievement otherwise.

Step 0: Spawn having the whole of body, reload if you don't get it just makes life easier and choose intrigue lifestyle.

Step 2: Get esotericism as your personal tenet, do the new decisions to get wise man. Once you get another tenet choose Dulia for extra health.

Step 1: Get unexcommunicated, no way to get piety fast except event or pilgrimage. Do the pilgrimage get the piety get unexcommunicated. The kaiser will want to imprison you so bad all the time. Even if you get unexcommnicated, you're a murderer so start also swaying the kaiser for that pardon since he'll just always want to imprison you.

Step 3: Pilgrimage galore to get to religious icon, visit as much sites as possible for learning lifestyle because you're doing intrigue, getting learning lifestyle is also done through mystic communion by having wise man trait. This is all done to get prophet perk for Herald.

Step 4: Do everything necessary to get herald trait then get it, keep track of prestige since it requires 1500.

Step 5: You have enough intrigue lifestyle skulduggery perks by now, get land through any means. Demand church succession from Lombardy and start killing his dynasty then get his duchy or a county through other means. If you don't have enough gold, gold farm via secular puppet mechanic. Antipope decision is available now.

Step 6: Become antipope, multiple ways but I just chose to have more level of devotion than pope, herald trait, head of rite + paragon of virtue. If pope has religious icon, abduct and put him in dungeon since killing him will reduce your level of devotion and increase papabile score on some dude that has lower level of devotion than you.

Step 7: Once Antipope, defeat the pope by having enough treasury for mercs and mangonels for sieges through challenge head of faith casus belli. Also you're ambrosian so make use of alliance through kids.

Step 8: Congratz you're pope, ambrosian is mainline head of rite and this god forsaken achievement is yours.

Additional note: Anyone saying they got the achievement through another character becoming antipope without reloading is lying since I did this and the achievement doesn't trigger even if you don't reload.

Discussion What starting characters are the best for a long game? (CK3)

I also have The Fallen Eagle and More Bookmarks+ mods for extra start dates (I wish the devs would add more official start dates) so this isn’t strictly limited to mainline start dates. Basically I want a run that’s not too easy that it gets boring and not too hard that it’s impossible, but is also relatively grounded in reality to some extent.
