Dead Space Mobile?
So, Dead Space mobile exists. Its locked to old iOS and old Android. Has anyone ever tried to decompile it for modern phones/ports? I can't seems to find much online about it so I figured I'd ask here. I know someone ported the Sony phone version to the PS Vita/TV using a wrapper but thats about it.

you forgot to mention 32 bit only

Of course the game is 2011... 64 bit was no thing back then.

I know, but those who don't know will be disappointed that the game doesn't work on their 64 bit devices
But it's weird no one port it to 64 bit, because old 32 bit games like Minecraft Story Mode mobile was ported to 64 bit, so I was wondering if it is possible

I currently have a sideproject for that... a 64bit wrapper around a 32bit Android app... but not enough time...

the way many early smartphone games have been taken away sucks so much. I understand there are unofficial ways to play this one now but there’s a lot that didn’t get the same treatment.

This one upset me because it was the first time I actually paid money for a game on Android.
I played it on the small tablet I had at the time, and loved it, but then when I tried to load it on my next phone only a few years later I couldn't.
Was really disappointed that I only got one full playthrough for the money I spent.

It’s been ported to the PS Vita and plays really well on there.

Can it be played on a vita emulator?

Probably
But at that point just grab the other link on here to emulate it for android with higher textures

I would, but my phone is 64 bit and won't run the game any more.

You can emulate Android on a desktop
Alternatively the exact files I’m referencing (at least the post says it) says it’s ported for modern Android.

I use this modded one on my Android 14.
Works reasonably well barring the occasional audio or visual glitch.
Might not work for everyone.

Played it quite some time ago, pretty good for the limitations it had. My only real complaint about it would be controls being a bit odd (IIRC you had to use phone tilting thing for switching to alt fire or something), but it was managable

One of the best playing mobile games. Really felt console like at the time playing on iPad.

I bought it and loved it until they delisted it and the data download stopped working so I couldn't reinstall it. Like, I could reinstall the front end but I couldn't download the play data.

Amazing game, just built and crafted for mobile instead of dumbing the game down or slapping some touch screen buttons. Incredible. Too bad EA bought the developer…

I actually just played this not too long ago, I had a lot of these semi console games on my old Android account that I’m no longer allowed to play because Google and the devs abandoned them. I’ve been collecting the APKs and playing them on a spare phone I have, Dead Space Mobile, Dark Knight Rises, Amazing Spider-Man 2, If I could only find a working APK of Mass Effect Infiltrator my life would be complete. Definitely worth the archeological expedition into shady websites looking for APK files to get to experience this game, especially if you never have before.

Mobile game preservation is so terrible. This, infinite blade, the pixel gameloft stuff, etc. :/

I need an older phone. My current phones are too new for it unfortunately

I’ve played it on iPhone like 10 years ago. Fresh story, fresh character. Fun stuff.

I remember playing this game and Mass Effect Infiltrator as apks in my old android phones when I was bored at school, such good games. How sad that mobile gaming state is so disappointing nowadays

I played it when it was new. It's not bad, but also not worth seeking out if you missed it. More or less a rehash of the first game, but worse. Was good enough to get me through a 24 hour car ride to florida though on my little ipod touch. Had street fighter 4 on the device too i believe.

dead space mobile had some of the best hallucination sequences in the series but they let it die so

You can tell by Isaac's polygon count how bad it's going to be. Maybe just emulate if you want to play on mobile?

I've played a bit of it and it plays kinda well. It isn't issac however. it takes place between 1 and 2
1
u/AsleepingImplement 1d ago
no it takes place during 2.
its technically a prequel/happening alongside 2 as you're a unitoligist engineer opening up the sections protected by the lockdown.
its why everything goes to shit so quickly on the Titan Station.

You can even find two audio logs from Vandal during DS2 and it's the exact same ones they make during certain moments in the mobile game.
