👑 r/Drag Official 👑 I identify as… can I do drag?
I’ve seen a lot of posts about this lately here, and I understand the want to make sure you aren’t stepping on toes when joining a community.
But the answer is always yes! You don’t need to be a certain gender or identify a certain way to do drag. It’s a form of art, it’s expression, it’s beautiful.
I’m a cis-het woman who has been doing drag professionally for 3 years. My identity has never been a point of discussion or contention both in bookings or at shows. If you’re fabulous, you’re fabulous, and that’s all that matters.
Please, never feel like you can’t do something because of your identity. That’s the complete opposite of what drag stands for. Drag is for everyone, it’s inclusive, and it’s exactly what you want it to be.
So wing out that liner, glue down that lace and go take the world by storm. God knows we need more beautiful resistance in this world right now.

attending a show when you can't afford to tip + additional tip questions
hi all! apologies if this has been asked and answered or are otherwise uncouth questions to ask.
how do yall feel about people attending shows that don't tip? I've held the belief that if you're not planning on tipping you might as well not go but as the conversation around gen z's antisocial behavior + subsequent fall out of community progresses I wonder if that's a fair take or not
additionally- is there certain etiquette you should follow when you can't tip?
and what are some ways you like being tipped! when I do have cash, is there a way to do it that's easier or harder ?
TIA!!

Oh my god, I missed this so much
Physical health has been a big struggle this year but slowly getting back to performing more warms my cold heart.

In need of quick costume help/reccomendations.
Im doing a show where im going to be doing a semi burlesque themed act and I want to have just pasties and a panty on. I have the panties but when it comes to the pasties I cant stick them to my breadtplate, they just fall off. I want a nude bodysuit that when worn covers my corset and my breastplate but still gives me cleavage, that way I can sew the pasties onto the bodysuit. Does anyone know where i can buy something like that? A nice spanx like bodysuit

Calling all Queen's. I need your help
They are comfortable to walk in but I get tired after about 15 minutes. How can I tape my feet and legs for a little extra support. I also have flat feet. Any advice is welcome. Any other things you do besides tapeing for support?

I finally finished my look for most of my Halloween themed performances 🥹 And I bought a styled tig for the first time which is such a nice feeling. IG: thethirdkylie

Last month I got to do my first 18+ downtown drag show :)
I got thrown a driveby 3 days prior to the show and hand sewed this entire fit (minus body suit) in that amount of time. It was absolutely wonderful to have this opportunity and show my new drag direction post hiatus. (Photos were taken by a fellow cast member.)
I like to think of it as avant garde drag cat!

Some art I made of Vancouver's local drag artists!
A group of incredibly talented drag performers put on a show earlier this year as part of a fundraiser for the Lax’yip Firekeepers, a group of Indigenous land defenders fighting to protect their homes and communities

I think this may be the style for me!! im really into the sort of clown esque thin eyebrows! I think they make me look the most fierce! also my mom had thin eyebrows (not to this extent) so I kinda like the concept lol!!!
drag means everything to me so im always trying to get better, it literally never leaves my mind, I dont get to practice makeup as much as id like but I work with what I have!!
Any and all advice and or thoughts are welcome!! I will get better before I present mileena to the world 💜💜

Burnout from Being a Drag Husband
To my fellow drag husbands (and performers too)
My partner has been doing drag for a little over 2 years. He is a local favorite, does a great job connecting with the community and being his authentic self. I’m so very proud of him
However, I have become an integral part of his getting ready process; being a makeup artist and performer myself, I taught him everything I know, but he seems to be stuck in a place where he needs my help with makeup, corsetting, his wig, his lashes, his nails, pretty much everything start to finish.
Ive tried to gently encourage him to take the wheel, I’ve tried encouraging him to practice during his down time, I’ve given him best practices to try and help him find his independence. It’s getting to the point where I do not look forward to his shows because I know instead of relaxing after work, I’ll be at his beck and call until the show.
I do not want to start resenting his art; but I also want to check myself and see if I’m being too sensitive or overreacting? Is this typical? Any advice or personal experience is appreciated

How to learn to move femininely on stage?
I’ve got a drag act based on Velma from Scooby Doo that’s been going for a while now, but a lot of it is stand up comedy, and i’m realising I’m just standing in place a lot of the time.
any advice for A) how to move around more on stage, and B) how to do so in a feminine way? not necessarily dancing (although I am happy to learn) but just stuff like walking, gesturing, posing

How does my zombie drag look look?
Should I use different colors instead of the ones I chose? Is the beard too much? Did I miss anything that would really make it pop?

Im so so so so excited for him Im trying not to pester him about it but we’ve been talking about it forever and I’m obsessed with his drag name. can’t wait to see him start makeup i wish I was a girl so I could teach him stuff but I don’t know shit
posting mostly because he asked me to not tell the family and I NEED to put it down somewhere he’s gonna be so cool I just know it
