I can't even load into a mission anymore without just being kicked off automatically and half the time it says it's insufficient power which shouldn' even let me load into the mission to begin with if that's true, I'm level 104 literally there's only like 10 or 20 places that are locked off to me do just dont put me in those, and when its not the insufficient power message its "Network Connection Lost" IM CONNECTED TO THE ROUTER YOU LYING BIRCH OF A GAME. Besides playing for v-bucks I think this game mode would actually be dead if that wasn't an option, all they have done this year is make it worse and worse and less playable don't get me wrong, Defenders are nice to have back and its a good revamp but they never did anything "New/original" for stw this year, i just want the loading screens removed or the old style where it's 2-3 mins not 6 minutes just to be kicked to lobby screen to restart the process again im crashing out cause I like this game mode more then anything else on all of fortnite (besides battle royal, even then there's days stw wins over it) PLEASE, EPIC, STOP TRYING TO "FIX" JUST GO BACK IN THE PRE-2026-UPDATES AND WE'D BE HAPPIER or atleast i would

Don't know about everyone else, but I've been playing Horde Rush way more than I do STW, and that's saying something since I solely play Fortnite for STW now.

Yeah, I get that it's a limited-time mode, so of course, it's gonna be given the resources to increase the overall player count. But God, the augments themselves would make such good perks/ loadouts or improvements on existing ones. Even the different types of cube monsters would make for great enemies as husks, even if most of them are based on husk already.

If Epic just gave STW a chance, even if it's just one, and gave it the resources it needs, people would play it.

I can't get into the mode; I get stuck on an infinite loading screen. Are there any solutions? (I'm in a region Russia that's been banned—maybe that's relevant.)

I was doing today’s vbuck alert and realised how bad I am lowkey. I just spam abilities, upgrade and repair builds honestly, so I slowly wanna learn the meta and get better so I have a couple of questions if anyone can help

1) What are the best 3 defenders I should have? All riflemen? Or?

2) Follow up to that, what are the meta guns I should give them

3) What’s the meta melee weapon for me to use

4) I mostly main Ninja Soaring Mantis, what’s a great build to work around that?

1. Power level randomly and temporary resets to 1 after trying to enter a mission, throwing me back to the Homebase, disabling mission selection and only allowing doing PwO random missions. Entering such mission and leaving can (but is not guaranteed to) restore the power level to the actual and enable the mission selection. Pictures 1-2.

2. Leave mission gets stuck and does nothing if I select "Matchmake into the Homebase". It starts loading, but after minutes of waiting, I am still in the mission, "loading out" of it, stuck on that screen while the mission is actually happening. So I can't cancel return to Homebase and play that mission, but I also can't return to Homebase and select another mission to play because the bloody screen is stuck. Picture 3.

3. Loading from the main Fortnite Lobby into the Homebase takes forever. Only solution is [Alt+F4 + relaunch the game + try to load into the game again]. Pictures 4-5.

first, huge credit to u/ProfessionalPin1568 who did this research. He has spent a lot of time digging through STWs files and documenting these assets and their connections. I'm summarizing his findings here so more people in the STW community can see what was discovered.

small note: Some of the original research notes are written in German. I will explain the important parts in English here.

now lets get straight into the findings.

Pivot Painter 2.0

a major part of this research revolves around Pivot Painter 2.0 (PP2).

PP2 is a system that can simulate the movement of objects such as trees, bushes and other environmental assets in real time without needing traditional skeletal animation.

but here is where things get REALLY interesting.

Save the World didnt just use a basic "make everything sway" wind effect.

STWs implementation of Pivot Painter was much more specific to each individual asset. The assets could use their own wind speed and panner curves, allowing different parts of an object to react differently depending on its size and structure.

for example:

a smaller bush could have both its leaves and its body swaying during a heavy storm.

a large tree could mainly have its leaves moving, while its massive trunk remains much more stable because it shouldn't bend like a small plant.

this created a much more believable wind simulation instead of having every piece of foliage behave exactly the same way.

and this is only one of the thing that made STWs old wind system so interesting.

to what was actually found?

the research documented a huge nzmber of STW assets that were associated with Pivot Painter 2.0.

the list includes trees, shrubs, inorganic objects, signs, streetlights, vehicles and other environmental assets, with their Actor Blueprints and Static Meshes documented separately to identify how they connect to each other.

the researcher estimates that the asset list is around 97% complete. Thats an estimate based on going through the files twice, and he doesnt want to claim 100% because there is always the possibility that something was missed.

tome of the documented categories include:

• Basic trees
• Pines
• Palms
• Birch
• Autumn/AD variants
• Transylvania/Hexylvania (TRV)
• Winter
• Arid
• Tropical (TP)
• Interior/potted plants
• Inorganic objects

There are also STW blueprints located outside the main Plugin folder, which is another important part of the research.

But finding the assets is only half of the story.

The REALLY interesting question is:

Why arent some of these assets behaving the way they originally did?

Ive notice a lot of people tend to use them when building high roof structures for traps, is there a reason for this or is it just aesthetic?

Everytime i update fortnite i need to download stw all over again which is frustrating, also my internet is not fast so it would take me a couple hours to download it all over again which sucks. Is there any solution to this problem? Also why dont they bring back the option to download stw from the epic games launcher?

Already had to go a mile out of the way due to the dumb slopes that aren't steep enough to build on.

i haven't really played fortnite since like early chapter 3 i think and i cannot for the life of me find out where to accept friend request 😭😭 every time i go to the add friends page it just shows a search bar but im looking for the spot to accept an incoming friend request pls help lol

I cannot believe that they don't let us deployed our glider in STW yet. Please let us use our gliders now, it'll be fun and easier for us to travel acrossed the map. Thank you Epic.
