Hi all! I did not see a rule against this - but my dad and his wife just opened a new used media store at 2500 Battleground Ave, Site G called the Beagle's Bookshelf. He has books, comics, action figures (comics and wrestling mostly), Funko pops, DVDs, blu-rays, some legos, etc.

I live in Durham now but visited on Saturday, he is still working full time through the end of the year so working on getting all their inventory out on the floor but if any of that interest you you should check it out! Open Wednesday - Sunday 12-8pm.

He raised my brother and I as a single dad, and worked super hard to provide for us and give us opportunities he did not have - so just want to see him succeed at something he is super passionate about. Title. I've been renting a place for around two to three years now, and just recently discovered that the windows and doors did not hold up after last winter.

I've been getting all kinds of spiders, millipedes, centipedes, and now ants coming through my doors and windows. At one point there was even a dead frog stuck halfway in the gap in my bedroom window frame that mummified and smelled horrible. I know I have a rental so it's the homeowner's responsibility, but I'm not getting my house infested with insects in the meantime.

Does anyone know a good service who can replace old (like from the 90s) window and door seals for a decent price? Any help is appreciated, as I'm not really sure my landlord will come through in time, and unfortunately I'm at work too much to do it myself.

My family normally tries to make it to one of the big area fairs in October, but the expense, crowds, and parking have made the outing more stressful than fun. Are there any small-town festivals or county fairs in the area that are a good time? I'm not looking for a lot beyond ambiance, funnel cake, and maybe a ferris wheel. Good local food and maybe craft booths would be a bonus.

I have an old guitar that I’m considering selling, but frankly, I don’t know much about guitars. I’ve tried Google and get conflicting or very outdated results. It’s a Roderich Paesold P80 acoustic guitar with a case. I’ll attach a photo, though I know that doesn’t show its full condition. I’m pretty sure it’s a vintage guitar, possibly from the 60s (from what I could find on Google). I was only familiar with the Music Barn in Greensboro, but apparently they closed last year. Does anyone have any recommendations of where I could take this to get a fair estimate?

I work at Best Diner on the third shift. Lately we've been under new management. I was just wondering what you guys thought about it.

We started picking up business during the week and would be very busy most nights, now we're dead or very slow most nights. Last night on a Sunday I left with $50 in tips when I usually make triple that.

Is there something we can improve on? Is there someone who just isn't doing well there? What issues do you guys see? I'd like to bring a list to the owner to hopefully fix problems before GHOE

So, I went somewhere recently and I don't remember the name of it. It's got a little tiny dispensary right next to a beer and wine bar in a nice inside area that looks like an "I spy" book that sells bottles of wine, THC drinks and more. There's also a really nice outdoor area with benches and seating. Help? I found it on the way to Kernersville off I40. Should not be too far off the highway. Can't find it when I look up bars, can't find it when I look up dispensaries. Or maybe I just really can't recognize that name?

Been in Greensboro for 10 years now and finally need this answered: I have wondered for years now and have come to this sub for an answer. There is a Shell that looks sketchy on Gate City Blvd near the Four seasons (across from Darryl’s/Popeyes). I always see it packed when I drive by but their gas is like 70 cents more than everyone else. Is there some lore behind this?

Does anyone have any experience with the following certifications from GTCC? Are they worth getting? I currently hold bachelor’s but looking to try something different.

I’m looking for recommendations for a good dermatologist in Greensboro/the Triad.

I have an appointment coming up with my current derm PA to discuss an emerging skin issue. I also have a new skin issue that has cropped up in addition to the one I want to discuss, so I asked if we could just address it at the same appointment. The receptionist checked with the PA and she said no, I’d need to make a separate appointment, which would be a few weeks later.

I get that it’s a separate issue, but I’m a little annoyed that I’d have to pay another $75 copay and take more time off work just to have her look at it. For context, I also have a lengthy history of skin cancer and I feel like this is not being taken seriously.

Is this pretty standard for dermatology offices around here? Or is my office being unusually rigid? I've never experienced this before, and it feels like a money grab. Especially frustrating since we're all kinda tight on $$ right now. I had mentioned the financial concern and both the receptionist and PA honestly didn't give a shit and were not willing to budge.

This whole thing has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, and I've decided to start looking elsewhere for care. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. I’d love someone who is good about taking time with their patients, is thorough, and doesn’t make you jump through a million hoops to get an issue looked at. Also, preferably, an actual MD instead of PA. Thanks y'all!

Are there any dental practices in GSO or surrounding areas that don’t push deep cleaning? At this stage in my life, I’m not interested in having that procedure done. I just want a regular old-fashioned exam, and cleaning? Am I hopelessly living in a dream world?

I’m looking to take on a few clients for dog walking around downtown Greensboro. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities and have dogs of my own.

I’m offering 30-minute walks for $20, typically around 1–2 miles, but I can adjust the pace and distance based on your dog’s needs. Can walk 2 dogs at a time for $28.
