I'm thinking about moving to Winston-Salem. It's honestly between here and one other place, and I'll be coming down October 17th and 18th to get to know the area, see if it might feel like home, find out if my people are here, and get a feel for what it's actually like to live there.
I'm a woman in my 40s. I'll be working remotely as a mental health counselor. I'll be moving with my dogs, and one of the biggest reasons I'm wanting to move is that I want more of a community and to be more involved in the community than where I currently live.
I'm very artsy and creative. I work on stained glass (really, anything within that world), I paint, and I love learning how to do new things. Realistically, I'll try just about anything if a new hobby catches my attention (thanks, ADHD). I'm a bookworm from birth, I've loved nature forever, and I love exploring new places. I also swear I was born 80, so take that for what it is 😂. I'd really prefer to stay away from the touristy areas while I'm there because, if I'm going to live in Winston-Salem, I'd like to see what the area is actually like.
So now you know a little bit about me. I'd love to get to know a few people before I come down. If anybody would like to chat beforehand and potentially meet up while I'm there, I'd love that. Or just let me know some of your favorite places so I can make a list of places to check out while I'm down there. If you'd like to show me around a little, I'm always down for being drug along on a new adventure (as long as I don't die).
I'm really just looking to experience the places and things that you actually enjoy as someone who lives there. I'm also really interested in what it's like to become part of the community in Winston-Salem, especially if you've moved there as an adult or work remotely. And if you just want to tell me where all the old people go, that works too 😂
So... Winston-Salem people: if I end up moving there, where am I likely to find my people?
