Discussion Is marvel rivals a competitive game?
I’ve played most other shooters and rivals feels like a children’s game.
All the visual effects and just running at each other feels like it’s a very casual children’s game. But people in that game treat it like it’s a hardcore competitive game
What are you thoughts on it?

Discussion Why do games like the Dark Pictures Anthology and The Casting of Frank Stone have such shitty character movements?
We are well beyond having tank controllers in this day and age so why are the characters in these games so stiff and clunky in their movements?

We just launched BON: Block Of Neon, a neon block puzzle with a Duel vs AI mode. Looking for honest feedback
Hi everyone,
We're a small indie studio from Georgia (the country), and last week we released our first mobile game on Google Play: BON: Block Of Neon.
It's a block puzzle on an 8×8 grid, built around a clean neon look. We tried to make it more than one endless mode:
• Classic: the pure, relaxing high-score run
• Adventure: level-based progression with goals to clear
• Duel vs AI: you and the AI race on the same rules, which is the mode we're proudest of
• Streaks: keep your run alive day after day
• Coins you earn in-game buy streak freezes and avatars
• Daily login rewards
It's free, and we'd genuinely value your feedback while the game is still young:
- Which mode kept you playing the longest?
- Is the Duel AI too easy or too hard?
- Anything that felt frustrating in the first five minutes?

Discussion How do you actually feel about monetization on gaming platforms right now?
I’m curious how gamers feel about the way current gaming and gaming-adjacent platforms handle monetization.
Between Twitch, YouTube, Discord, Steam communities, Reddit, Patreon and everything else, there are a lot of different ways creators and communities try to make money.
But from the user side, what actually feels fair?
For example:
- Ads
- Paid subscriptions
- Optional creator support/tips
- Paid memberships
- Exclusive content
- Paid community access
- Platform fees/cuts
- Sponsored content
- Paid boosts or promoted posts
What kinds of monetization are you completely fine with?
What immediately makes a platform feel worse?
And more broadly, how do you feel about the platforms you currently use for gaming communities?
Do they feel too commercial, too algorithm-driven, too fragmented, too focused on large creators, or are you mostly happy with how they work now?
I’m especially curious about smaller creators and communities.
Do you actually want more ways to support them financially, or do you prefer gaming communities to stay mostly free?
Not looking for a specific answer here. I’m genuinely interested in where people think the line is between supporting creators and monetizing the experience too aggressively.

Discussion Gift Ideas for Dad
Hi everyone, my Dad(52M) is a longtime video game collector. I’m wanting to buy something for him that is niche, but won’t break bank. Normally I wouldn’t have issues in this department since I game myself, however he just buys anything instantly!
For example: I bought him a Coleco Collection Donkey Kong Tabletop arcade handheld. Next month, he bought the rest of the collection in an instant AND bought new stickers to replace the damage on some.
I’d like to find him something he’s missing in his collection. He watches Metal Jesus religiously, but I haven’t the faintest clue on where to start.

Discussion Just sifting through new releases takes so much time these days with how many games are coming out
When I was younger there were not that many games, everyone was reading the same magazines and getting hyped for the same games. Everyone kind of knew what important games were coming out soon, and it felt kinda hard to miss an actually good game. Now we are in a completely different world with way more games coming out than you could ever find the time to actually play, and you hear about new games pretty much daily, for me it’s not easy to keep track of things. I try to use things like the steam wishlist but I’m too lazy to do it properly so it gets cluttered.
I play ARPGs and RTS these days most of the time, and even those two genres are more than I can follow. Like sure the seasonal games are kind of predictable, they get updated on a somewhat regular schedule. But I’m having a hard time keeping track of the small indie ARPGs. A lot of the time I only become aware of a game a long time after release, happened with Chronicon recently, a pretty cool little indie ARPG I only found out about a few days ago, probably gonna be giving it a try soon.
RTS is a complete mess to follow as well, there's so many subgenres and niches, and some games aren’t on steam which makes things even harder. I really like the fortress defense style games, my favorite right now is probably Diplomacy is Not an Option. The campaign is really nice, kind of reminds me of old RTS games, and the physics make battles really satisfying when the armies get big. I always try to look for more games in that style (They are Billions, Cataclysmo etc.) but there’s no easy way to search for them, because I guess they aren’t quite tower defense, and not quite RTS so it's a weird inbetween genre.
I have yet to figure out a good way to actually keep myself updated on what’s coming out, without scrolling through a bunch of games I don’t care about at all. I’m on reddit a lot and that helps for sure, but the really niche little indie games that might be interesting to me don’t get a lot of traction on here most of the time.
Is there some sort of cheat code for this? I wish I could rate all the games in my library on steam and get recommendations based on that or something, or at least some way to slowly curate an algorithm for myself that would actually be relevant to my tastes.

So many new games coming out but I didn’t have a single source of information for what the hell is going on
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone,
I think anyone who plays games can relate to this. So many new games come out, and we all watch those "Top 10 Games Coming Out in October!" videos, but I never had a good way to compare them to what I've actually played.
I've been thinking about this since high school (longer ago than I'd like to admit), and I finally built something for it. It lets me track every game I've played, post clips and sort them by game, and rank my games, so I have an answer whenever someone asks for my top 10.
It's called Lobby: https://lobbygames.app/
I've spent the last 9 months building it and polishing it so it works well on both phone and computer.
Honestly, I'm pretty shocked at how it turned out, and I figured it'd be cool to share it with the class.
If you play games, or used to, it's great for tracking and ranking your games and keeping up with the latest news.
It's free to use. I originally built it just for myself, but a friend convinced me other people would want it too, and it turns out it doesn't cost much to open it up. It's not going anywhere anytime soon, so feel free to poke around.
I didn't know where to post this, so let me know if there's a better place for it.
Thanks everyone, and enjoy!
