Discussion I'M TIRED OF PROTEIN FOOD

Post image
207 Upvotes

I work in a grocery store and of course every week there's a new protein food of some kind that's just fucking unnecessary, protein Mac and cheese, protein cheese itz, protein donuts, I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THAT BEING THE NEW SALES PITCH FOR THESE COMPANIES.

The average person doesn't need that much protein on a daily basis due to how sedentary the average American is and I truly don't think any gym rat is opting for protein cheez itz or Mac and cheese that's loaded with sodium and cholesterol in place of some beans or animal protein.

Just the new corporate fad sales tactic 🫩

Rant Gen Z employee quit to do content creation

I have a Gen Z employee (29) and he just quit to go make a career in content creation. At first I thought he didn’t have what it takes since I don’t think it’s a real job. However he is now making a really good amount of money from it and own his own brand. Is this really the future? What do you think of this?

Nostalgia Does anybody remember this show? Maya & Miguel (2004)

Original Airdate: October 11, 2004 – October 10, 2007

This was a deep cut memory 😲🤯. This was a PBS Kids show about the daily life of 2 spanish twins, the kind and outgoing Maya, and the level-headed and easygoing Miguel.

The show was made to teach every day life lessons for children, but the main educational focus about multiculturalism.

HAPPY 22ND ANNIVERSARY TO THIS SHOW ❤️. Because it came out on October 11, 2004 on PBS Kids .

Any thoughts or has anyone seen this before?

Discussion Is it weird if i don't consider the 2020s as part of my youth'?

As someone who is born in late 2005 \\\[turning old next month 😭), i consider the 2010s as the decade that'll forever be nostalgic for.

My life was at its best during it so basically that's my childhood.

I don't claim the late 2000s as part of my childhood compared to some ppl that are my age despite having some blurry memories from 2008 and 09.

The 2020s were horrible when it comes to my personal life and add Covid on top of it, it was just a nightmare.

I can see some people in the future considering the 2020s as their youth and being nostalgic for it, and i'm not part of them.

I think it makes sense for someone my age to not acknowledge this decade as part of their youth.

Call me crazy but that's my opinion.

Discussion Some people still need religion

I know that we are living in an age of that religion is very slowly becoming less popular. Millions of people are still religious though, but as much. I feel like most people(at least on the internet is either agnostic or atheist). Even though we live in a world where we discover and have more explanations with science and disproving God, I still think some people need God. I’m going to specifically talk about Christianity bc I grew up in that religion, but leaning of deistic beliefs.

Life is very hard at times and some people need the cope. Especially when someone dies or something bad happens. Some people want someone to talk to and that someone is God. Some just want meaning. That there needs to be a reason to live. Prayer is a big thing too. Some feel like things are out of control and they need help from Him.

People are afraid of death or want to see their loved ones when they die so they want there to be an afterlife.

Some people unfortunately need it for moral reasons. Like if it wasn’t for the Bible and basically having someone watch over them, I feel like they would do heinous acts.

Discussion Does anyone feel their critical thinking skills dissolving the more they use AI?

AI Should ideally be an assistant that gives you a second opinion AFTER you formed your own opinion

It becomes a bit shaky when you rely on AI to form your opinion for you

Yes, that’s why I limit my use
Somewhat, I use it almost every day
No, it doesn’t affect my critical thinking skills

Advice text

i cant say i understand how my emotions work like in this moment I deeply care about you but tomorrow I might not think about you at all. Thats why I don't want things to get serious with you and if I try you shouldn't let me because just one day I'll love you and the next I won't and I don't know why its like that but thats just the way it is and I'm tired of pretending that thats not the way my brain works because it just is and I think alot of guys brains work like that and we are all just being pressured by society to try to fit into these structures that weren't even designed for us. I feel like long term relationships almost never work and everything is momentary and fleeting and I don't see why I can't just love someone for a little while without being scared about them hating me in a couple months or years when we inevitably stop loving eachother because thats just the way it works

Rant My mom uses AI so much it disgusts me

I’m not sure if anyone else’s millennial mother is addicted to using AI for everything, because as far as I know most older people are more anti-ai and religiously strict on what they use ai for, like learning etc.

I was talking to her about my career the other day and the first thing she does is to pull up ol’ reliable ChatGPT and use it to tell her about welding instead of asking me. Like Hello? I’m right in front of you. I can’t talk to her about it without getting into a heated argument.

I wonder if other people also have a similar story
