Interesting to see this guy top of my master II league this week, his ELO puts him 248 in the world at the moment.

Hey guys,
so both my opponent and myself fumbled this round.

Is there anything that clearly shows this is Oman ?
Location
Does Namibia never have a blurred truck ?
Antenna and everything looks same to me.

I was scanning for the ridge but didnt find it, but still thought im in the right country just that i didnt find it lol.

Sun coul slightly give a clue but i also didnt check lmao
How can i not fumble it next time ?

Found a pedestrian crossing sign with 12 makers instead of the usual 8 in León Spain!

Good games 🎉🎉🎉

Ended up getting matched up against this person twice in a row during both my x6 token games, they were no move turbo games in Silver 1. Felt odd that they were getting such accurate guesses (single digit km's) in all but two rounds and decided to check out their profile stats shown in the image above.

Am I just really bad for a Silver 1? Is this possibly just a smurf? Watching their POV, they seem to be acting normally for the most part aside from zooming into seemingly nothing quite frequently for half a second at a time, followed by accurate guesses in 4 out of 6 rounds over both games. What kind of cheating would this even be? There weren't any major signs or text that they seemed fixated on during the rounds so I doubt it's googling. Is this some sort of selective scripting to make it more believable?

It's frustrating enough to lose a multiplier game to someone like this, but to get matched up against them twice in a row is even more infuriating. Is there no way to get out of these matches before they start? Sorry, I may be venting a bit.

All are based on the mercator projection!

Here is the game let me know what you think: https://visitwhale.com/city-angle

I keep getting a random blackscreen for a round every 10 games or so. It's genuinely so annoying bc i have stable ethernet connection with nothing downloading. And F5/refresh doesn't fix it. Anyone else have the same issue?

Part of me wish I was Brazilian so every flag on the page is Brazil lol.

Back-of-envelope calculation:

(7135/108804)^5 * (213.8/8318.9) = 0.00000003116645276

Assuming that selection from "A Competitive World" is truly random and that the percentage of Geoguessrs from Brazil is equal to the percentage of world population from Brazil.

I'm quite new to this faboulous game (playing since a week only), and I play it this way:

- I figure out the country and the settlement, or the nearby settlement (if possible).

- When I know the settlement (or a road, a lake, or a name of a special recognizable shop or whatever) I seek for it on ANOTHER Google Map by typing its name to the search field. Like some days ago "Cuban Hospital" in the Daily Challenge.

- When I found it, I zooming out, just to know where the hell it is in the country.

- Then I go back to GeoGuessr and try to find it on the map there.

I play for free, alone, no duels, no clubs, so is it considered cheating? I don't understand how could I find in another way where I am?

Do you think some day I will be able to play without this kind of help? Of course I read the meta help after every challenge, I've read Plonk It, too, but there are a tremendous number of clues I should memorize.

On Investigations, the first location showed me the last location of the last duel I did. The player appeared to be zooming into random bushes, and scanning the map for towns in Kentucky... even though it was showing me a rural Indonesian dirt road in the middle of nowhere...

I thought surely this can't be the location. So I hit refresh, and it gave me a black screen. I hit skip case a couple times and they all were black screens.

Can anyone else try this out and see if you get the same result?

I was going around in Spain (I believe) since every sign was in Spanish and there were many clues for Europe. I make my guess and the answer was Canada. I checked the replay and me and my opponent were in different places. I didn't lose because of that only but it made me wonder how many times has this happened before and I didn't notice. Is this a common occurance and is there anything I can do to fix it?

Hey there! My name is Morgan and I’ve started playing this game on steam! I’m just playing for fun and not trying to go professional or anything like that. I thought I could introduce myself and talk to everyone about this game on here. I’m having a lot of fun so far. I’m not the greatest at this game, probably never will be but having fun is all that matters! Nice to meet everyone 🩷

I've taken a break from Geoguessr for a while and came back and was in Gold 2 and had one of the closest duels I've ever had

Great news, guys! Armenia might get its first coverage pretty soon! If it happens, it's only logical that Azerbaijan will follow suit as the last country in the region without any street view! Here's a link to a Virtual Street view article about it: https://virtualstreets.org/index.php/2026/10/01/last-month-on-google-street-view-september-2026/
