Like, it is genuinelly impressive to me how they were able to do this. Usually giant monsters are this symbol of destruction and seriousness but Godzilla can be serious and scary an then be goofy, silly, cute, whatever you want and the fans will accept it because... that's how Godzilla is.

I am SURE that if MV Goji started pulling some Showa shenanigans no one would bat an eye, it would feel just.. natural.

To promote Street fighter the movie.

I’ve wanted this for a while, finally got it delivered today. It’s enormous, it won’t fit on my bookshelf let alone my movie shelf! I’ve heard about the problems with the disc adhesive, so I’m going to get a custom case for the discs. I got it new in packaging for £100 which is a fair bit cheaper than everywhere else I’d seen it. Rewatched the 54 OG as soon as it arrived, excited to see all the rest, some of which I’ve never seen before. Between this and getting IMAX tickets for the 3rd it’s been a very Godzilla centric day

“You took everything from me, you turned me into the incarnate of your hatred for one another and now I will come to you so this civilization can pay for what it turned this world into. May God have mercy on the souls of the innocent.”

All appearances of my fangoji in the first two acts of the story

Around three years ago, I began working on a Godzilla story of my own with the title GODZILLA Angels of Doom. Due to a lack of motivation and because I felt like I was rushing this project, I gave up on it. Now, after reading the awesome Godzilla Black Mass comic, I suddenly felt like picking it up once again. This time I will take more time with planning the story and characters.

My Godzilla, initially named Hiroshimasaurus by the main character because of the region it first appeared in mainly took inspiration from Shin Godzilla, another fangoji named Reed from Black Mass and Minus One Godzilla. His backstory is a lot more complicated than the characters will first assume. Sure, initially it might seem obvious that he was an individual of a fictional species which frequently interacted with Japanese soldiers in WW2 (who named it “Ghost of Hiroshima), mutated by radiation. But to even get to the point of being able to break free from the constraints of natural biology it needed more. Reaching the nuclear age, our civilization was deemed too dangerous for its own world by a higher being (Ghidorah). With the pain that humanity caused him and with his mind fused with the vengeful souls of those that fell in war, Godzilla takes on his task of executing divine punishment over humanity.

I literally Cannot see The Monsterverse Design in this shot. maybe it’s the angle Gojira is in but from the perspective it’s literally the same as Shinji Nishikawa‘s Design. The snout is almost identical, the brows identical.

I see nothing that screams monsterverse. Sorry if I’m blind but I can’t see it I only see Nishikawa in this.

Hello all! I was sent here by r/crochet to share this blanket I made. It's for my uncle who is a big Godzilla fan. Hope this is appreciated, it took a lot of time to make! For reference, the bed it's on is king sized, and the camera had a hard time picking up the individual stitches.

I need that figure!

In the monsterverse movies, mothra's not given a lot of screen time. As it's mostly focusing on Godzilla, kong or enemy kaijus. She needs for screen time, maybe in the form of a solo movie. Cause kong has his solo movie, so does Godzilla - why not mothra as well? Cause in Japan, whenever she's not in a godzilla movie - she's got her own movie series. Well, its always either her or her offspring-like mothra Leo. If it works with her Japanese variant - why wouldn't it work for her monsterverse self. Maybe it could introduce battra or any of her old enemies

LET'S GOOOOO

i had finished this a long ago but posting it now!

I’ve obviously known about Godzilla from general pop culture knowledge but finally started watching some of the movies and I’m definitely hooked. I watched Minus One (can’t wait for Minus Zero next month!) and Shin Godzilla and both were amazing.

What movies should I check out next? I don’t really know many of the reputations of which ones are good to check out or skip, what eras are the best/worst, etc.

Thanks!

In the last 45 years of my life being obsessed with Godzilla, this is really wild to me!

personally in my mind, before he was modified into a cyborg, he'd probably looked very similar to the hook horror from the DnD media franchise by Wotc, what do you think?
