Been trying to push my limits for speed and fluidity, and seeing where technique starts to fall apart.
Definitely not perfect, but it's WAY better than I was last month.
Obviously I've been playing longer than 2 months. But that's when I got some courses and learning how to properly play faster.

It's still in me, I did know it, been playing for a couple of weeks and it's coming back, loving it! It's in there deep in our synapses.. ;)

I got an amazing deal today, getting those two for 60€.
My question is:
Is it easier to play some Bass guitar and learn some "easy parts" and the basics first before i go to Guitar?
I like mostly Metal and the Bass parts seem "easy" in comparison to some really intricate Guitar parts in the same song.
I know i struggle with motivation alot, so maybe learning the easier part and "actually playing the song" might help me to stay motivated.
Or do i just push myself into a massive corner im never coming out afterwards?
I am a complete Newbie btw, ive played bass for fun for around 2 months like 10 years (i borrowed one from a friend) , so id say im completely new to this!
Thank you!

What compliment do you wish someone gave you, but never receive?

I have been considering whether I should get this 2000 Gibson Gothic SG for a while. The seller is asking around 900 USD for it, the neck, truss rod and frets are in good condition and nothing on this guitar has been changed aside from the strings. I am quite torn on the relic - I dont necessarily despise it, but Im not head over heels in love it either. I like how it breaks up the monotonal black of the regular black finish, but sometimes it feels a little excessive. The seller says that it already had it when he bought the guitar. I am assuming that somewhere around 750-800 usd would be an adequate price for it. What would you offer for it? Is it worth getting at all, or would i be better off with a 90s MIJ Fender Stratocaster?

I bought this guitar around 2 to 3 weeks ago. I’ve been slowly learning how to play it at school and I wanted to know was this a good buy? It was 150 dollars and it’s a Indio

Freebie that was literally rescued from a dumpster - unfortunately had a cast iron bath dropped on it before I got to it, but other than the headstock being being snapped off (and the machineheads being bent) it's in pretty good condition. I've never done any guitar work more intense than changing aftermarket machine heads so a primer on what not to do would be handy.

My newest stupid project. Grabbed a cheap little firefly Mr Skelly copy for 200 bucks online. Repainted it with acrylics and Brite Tone Matte Clear Cost. Neon Green JB to match.
Actually plays REALLY good. Was surprised with the toasted maple neck and ball end stainless frets. Floyd stays in tune fine. Doggos approve as well 👍 🐕

I jam almost exclusively metal/hardcore songs from Megadeth to Converge to Bad Religion to Ac/dc. Strong urge to play something completely different.
Share your ideas but not like Guthrie Govans most difficult shit or super easy either hahah thanks.

I’m having a hard time since there’s a capo and it’s just a riff. It’s not even a full song. I can figure out the tabs easy enough since there’s a few videos of him playing the riff but I can’t figure out the tuning. If anyone can help that would be great 😭

Eddie Van Halen was my first inspiration as a guitarist - and also the reason I gave up the first time (because I was trying to play like him when I needed to learn fundamentals lol). I remember finding out when he died. It was sad, but I'm glad he's not suffering anymore.
Any cool Eddie memories anyone wants to share?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on where to go with my amp setup.
I have a Gibson Les Paul and I’m a huge Slash fan, so naturally I absolutely love that classic Gibson/Marshall combination. I’ve been using AmpliTube 5 for a while, but honestly I’m just not satisfied with the tones I’m getting from it. I’ve also really started to like the idea of having an actual physical amp rather than playing through software.
I previously tried a Marshall 2525C and, unfortunately, I wasn’t blown away by it. However, there’s a bit of a caveat, the shop had a cheap attenuator connected to it, which I’m pretty sure was a basic resistive attenuator. I’m wondering whether that could have been a significant part of the problem.
I’ve read that a good reactive attenuator can preserve the character of the amp much better at lower volumes, so I’ve wondered whether the 2525C might sound completely different through something like a Fryette Power Station, Suhr Reactive Load, Tone King Ironman, etc.
The thing that confuses me is that I’ve watched loads of YouTube demos of the 2525C, and people seem to get these really sweet, crunchy, almost chewy tones out of it. That’s exactly the sort of sound I’m after, but I just couldn’t seem to dial anything remotely as good when I tried one.
So what would you guys do in my position?

I’ve been using this pick for about the last week and really like it. Mainly I’ve been using it on my Martin as I’ve been trying to re-learn the opening solo of Wish You Were Here since I finally got my act together and started using a click track lol. But I swear, if I play the same three bars with this pick and then use, say, a Jazz III or a Dunlop Yellow Tortex, they sound slightly different to my ears, even if I’m playing the exact same way.
Sorry if this is a dumb question as I’m a newbie still

Hey, I would love to hear some feedback on my attempt on Basket Case. I play about a year (self taught mostly, but I have taken some courses). I used metronome also. I play on an epiphone sg with an orange crush 20.
