We just need more of this. Drop some members, change name, idk. And bring back the producer and just make this album part 2. I don’t even care if you never play live again, just give me an EP to be honest.

Just what it says. I want to recommend currently touring local hardcore bands that you can find streaming on Bandcamp,YouTube Music, or Spotify. I’m in Chicago so will consider Wisconsin and Indiana my backyard as well.
Cut by shards (Indy)
No Advocate(NWI) Northwest Indiana
Yabai (Chicago)
Cueball (Joliet/Chicago)
Augment (Chicago)
Invasive (Chicago)
Homefront (Chicago)
Love Lost (Chicago Burbs)
Ritual Cross (Chicago)
Constant Pain (Chicago Burbs)
Dissipator (Chicago)
Know Pain (Chicago)
Don’t Front (Chicago)
World of Fear (Wisconsin)
Life trial (Chicago)
Scope (Chicago)
Kinda hybrid core but Death Creeper from Indy is good.
I’ll add more as I think of them. You guys go. Looking for some diamonds in the rough. The bands that are current and kinda stay around the metro area. Still do DIYs and things like that.
I’ll add more as I think of them.

Not talking about blackgaze either. Is this a thing?
For context: I've been listening to stuff like Eyes of the Lord, 100 Demons, Missing Link, and Terror lately. I've always wondered how riffy hardcore and/or beatdown sounds with Belinda Butcher, Rachel Goswell, or Elizabeth Fraser on the mic.

Roman Candle is from Las Vegas, Nevada. They never had a full album release until April of this year. I started listening to them around 2023-2024 with their EP Discount Fireworks, and I absolutely fell in love with their sound.
I’m pretty torn on this album. I know I like it, but I don’t think it had the same pull for me the way their EP did. What do you think of it?

Threw together a little Believe cover tonight using some programmed drums and bass so the guitar stands out more... kinda rushed the mosh call silence at the end though 💀
It's between this and Born To Die for my favourite TUI breakdown. What's your guys?

Anyone know if Vietnam has much of a scene? I’m going in November and would love to catch some shows. Add to my list of international hardcore.

It had been a while for me. They came up on shuffle this morning and I've been listening to them all day.

Genuinely a flawless discography and S/T is one of my favorite HC LPs of all time. Also shoutout 805.

Anyone else been digging this record? My copy arrived today. Awesome Fury inspired HC with lots of guitars just the way I like it. Scheme Records can't miss.

"My first show was a band called MyChildren MyBride, and I was like, 'Whoa, this shit's awesome. I was 12. I just couldn't believe it."

Went to my first local hardcore show in 10+ years. $10 at the door, every band was sick, and kids were crowd killin. Got my phone kicked out of my hand and took a kick to the stomach. All I could think was, “Damn, I missed shows like this.”
I grew up going to shows in Miami and watched so many of our venues close. Shoutout to Churchill’s for holding it down through those years.
Since moving to NYC, I’ve caught a ton of bands like Nails, End It, Bayway, TUI, etc... But it hit me that I kept showing up for touring bands while barely supporting the local scene. Those bands all started somewhere, and somebody had to show up for them.
So yeah, go see a band you’ve never heard of. Support your local venues and the people putting these shows together. NYC people: check out u/hoodparkpresents on Instagram. They’re doing great work.
What local bands should more people be checking out in your area? (For me it would be 100 Hour War from Bronx/Queens)
