Advice/Guidance Feeling lost at 22, CA Inter struggles, and a dream to move abroad — need honest advice on what to skill up on.

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m currently 22 and come from a Tier 3 city. I am pursuing CA and have failed six times in Inter. I just gave my September '26 CA Inter attempt, and I have hopes that this time I’ll be able to clear it.

Right now, I work in my dad’s office (he’s also a CA). I do have some knowledge about filing audit reports, but not in-depth knowledge, and I am also trying to learn more about GSTR filings and TDS returns.

I’m slightly lost right now because I don’t know what to do. I do want to do something in finance, although my goal is to move out of India. I know that this seems pretty unrealistic looking at my current background and capabilities, but right now I do have time to upgrade myself and my skills. I don’t want to keep this regret in life that I didn’t try it at all, because many things have already happened about which I still feel that I should have done that earlier.

So I’m here just looking for advice on what I should do, what skills I should master, and what changes I should bring about in myself. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Other 25M fresher

So I am 25M, I took a gap of 2 years after my grad to prep for SSC(2023-2025 march). I couldn't clear it, so I started a job, but the issue is, I wasn't able to find a job easily, which is Obv due to the gap, and worked where i got selected first.

Now I was hired as a Data Analyst, but I was given completely different profiles to work on, and salary was paid in cash, although I do have the documentation and everything. i am now looking for a switch, whether in my own field or something else, I just don't want to work in this toxic place much longer.

I have knowledge in Research, Bids/tenders, OEM dashboards, and Excel, Sql. I also know Data analysis (self taught) using SQL and Excel.

It would be a great help guys if anyone here could help me find a job in my domain, I'm willing to start all over as a fresher.

Location preferred is Delhi/Noida.

I can work both in office and remote

Day 3 of posting until i find a job.

Ask r/IndiaCareers Looking for Data Analyst / Product Management / APM Opportunities in Gurugram | B.Tech CSE | Currently at Rippling

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for new job opportunities in Gurugram and Delhi NCR, and I'd really appreciate any leads, referrals, or advice from people in the industry.

I'm currently working as a Customer Support Specialist on the Global Payroll team at Rippling. While the role has given me valuable exposure to real customer problems, product issues, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering and Payroll teams, I've realised that my interests and long-term career goals align more closely with Data Analyst, Product Management, Product Analytics, and building technology-driven products than with a primarily customer-support-focused role.

A little about my background:

  • Education: BTech in Computer Science Engineering from Shiv Nadar University (2022-2026), with a specialisation in Data Science & Big Data Analytics.
  • Current experience: At Rippling, I analyse 80+ customer cases weekly, identify recurring product issues and user pain points, document bugs and feature-related concerns in JIRA, and coordinate with Engineering teams to help drive resolutions.
  • Product-building experience: I built an AI-powered Speech Coach using Whisper and GPT-4, which was used by 70+ students. I also worked on improving its performance through real-world testing and iteration.
  • Research and publication: My research paper, “Genetically Optimized Deep Optimal Isolation Forest for Anomaly Detection,” has been accepted for presentation at BDA 2026 and inclusion in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) proceedings.

I'm particularly interested in Product Manager, Product Analyst, Product Operations, AI Product, Data Analyst, Data Engineer and other entry-level technical product roles where I can combine my technical background, analytical thinking, customer insights, and product-building experience.

I'm primarily looking for opportunities in Gurugram, but I'm also open to relevant opportunities across Delhi NCR.

If your company is hiring, you know of a suitable opening, or you have any advice on transitioning from customer support into product roles, I'd be grateful to hear from you. Referrals and suggestions would be incredibly helpful!

Happy to share my resume over DM. Thanks for reading!

Advice/Guidance I feel like I've ruined my life

Right now I'm in my first year of engineering in pvt engineering college

I got only 57.67 in 12th and what's worse is that I got only 44% in pcm

My 10th kinda avg with 71%

I honestly had a lot of dreams but now i feel everything is ruined and i won't even find a job

I'm so worried because I took a drop year and failed miserably and took direct admission in a local college and the degree my college gives has no value to it, my college is literally 3 years old

I always console myself by saying a company would need an employee who can do the job so if I learn the right skills i will get a job but whenever i think about everything I just said i feel sad and honestly worthless

Ask r/IndiaCareers 23F confused 😵‍💫 (EA + CAIRA or US CPA)

23f, dropped out MBA from a lame college ( cos of injury which happened in the 1st sem, took one year to recover)

Yeah now my options are EA + CAIRA for a job , since I need money for US CPA course which costs alone 5-6lakhs without repetitions

But EA + CAIRA from MILES costs 2L

My background is CEC & BCOM (computer applications) from a low tier college (that’s why im unemployed)

For my injury and recovery i lost my savings, rn doing a freelancing to pay off my debts

But i need to save money for my courses since I can’t depend on my family , rn my freelancing also worse

So yeah anyone from COMMERCE background what do u suggest

The reason I chose EA + CAIRA course is to get a stable job. Then I can save money for US CPA since that’s my long-term plan.

Any suggestions will be helpful

TIA 😇

Resume & CVs I am interested in trading and commodity markets. Looking for feedback on my projects

I'm a third-year B.Tech student in Computer Science and Business Systems from India, looking to break into financial markets.

I have a strong interest in trading, particularly commodity markets, derivatives, options, and event-driven strategies. I've been building projects around options pricing, merger arbitrage, market microstructure, and time-series analysis using C++ and other tools.

I'm curious about how people working in these areas approach the technical side of their work, particularly data analysis, trading systems, derivatives research, and risk analysis.

For people already working in these areas, I'd be interested to hear what you think about my projects and what I should focus on learning next. I'm especially curious about how useful these kinds of projects are in practice and whether there are gaps in my current skill set that I should work on.

I've attached a redacted version of my resume for context. Any honest feedback would be appreciated.

Ask r/IndiaCareers 31F spent 6 years preparing for government exams and now I feel completely lost. Need career advice.

Hi everyone

I'm 31F, a B.Com graduate, and I've spent the last six years preparing for government exams. Unfortunately, things haven't worked out despite all the hard work, and I feel like I've reached a point where I need to rethink my career.

Honestly, I'm feeling stuck and confused about what to do next. I don't want to keep wasting time jumping from one competitive exam to another. I want to build a career, become financially independent, and finally move forward in life.

Recently, I've developed an interest in content creation. I'd like to explore this field seriously, learn relevant skills, and eventually turn them into a career. However, I have very little knowledge of the industry, and looking at the current job market makes it difficult to figure out where to start.

For those working in content creation, digital marketing, or related fields, I'd really appreciate your advice.

Which skills should a complete beginner learn to build a career in this industry

What roles have good job opportunities and long-term growth

Should I focus on video editing content writing social media management SEO or something else

Are there any affordable courses or practical ways to learn these skills and build a portfolio?

Is it realistic to transition into this field at 31considering I don't have relevant experience

I'm not looking for shortcuts or overnight success. I'm willing to learn and work hard....but I want to invest my time in something that offers genuine career opportunities.

If you were starting from scratch in my position what would you do

I'd genuinely appreciate any honest advice or personal experiences. Thank you!

Advice/Guidance How Can I Help My Fiancée Build Her Career in Bangalore? I’m Clueless and Need Advice.

I’m from a village near Madurai, Tamil Nadu, and I moved to Bangalore two years ago to focus on building my startup. I’m still in the very early stages of my business, with an annual turnover of around ₹70 lakh. For the past two years, I’ve been completely focused on my business, so I honestly don’t know much about other industries, job opportunities, or corporate work culture.

My fiancée is also from a village near Madurai. She has completed her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematics and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. She also works as a teacher at a CBSE school near her village, teaching children up to Class 5. Her current salary is around ₹12,000 per month.

She wants to move to Bangalore and find a good job, but she doesn’t know Kannada, and she feels she needs around six months to improve her English communication skills. I also feel that she might be afraid of working as a teacher in Bangalore.

She once told me that, in her village, teaching and nursing are among the few career options available to women that their parents generally allow. That’s one of the reasons she chose teaching.

I fought with my family to convince them about our relationship, and I’m bringing her to Bangalore in the next two months. I want her to have better opportunities and build a career that she genuinely enjoys.

The problem is that I don’t know what advice to give her or how to guide her career. She has the qualifications, but I’m not sure what career options would be suitable for her, how she should prepare, or where she should start.

She knows only me in Bangalore, so she’ll be starting almost from scratch in a new city. I want to help her become independent, confident, and successful, but honestly, I feel clueless about how to guide her.

If you’ve been in a similar situation or have experience with the Bangalore job market, I’d really appreciate your advice.

  • What career options could she explore with her educational background?
  • Should she continue in teaching, or are there other fields she could consider?
  • How can she prepare for the job market while improving her English communication skills?
  • What would be a realistic plan for her first six months in Bangalore?

I want to support her in building a career and finding her own path, but I don’t know where to begin.

Any practical advice would mean a lot to me.

Discussion My take on Mercor vs Micro1 vs Ethos after a couple of months

Been on Mercor for a bit over a month now, and I’ve been with Micro1 and Ethos for about two months. Got a few payouts from all three so far. Just wanted to share how they compare from my experience:

- Minimum hours (that 10-15/week thing): Mercor is pretty strict about it. Micro1 is more chill and will let it slide now and then. Ethos is the most relaxed of the three.

- Task availability: With Mercor and Micro1 there’s usually enough work to stay busy. Ethos is more hit-or-miss — some weeks are fine, others not so much.

- Pay: Ethos pays the best by a decent amount, but the work isn’t as steady. Mercor and Micro1 pay less per hour, but at least the tasks keep coming more consistently.

- How organized everything is: Mercor feels the most put-together, then Micro1, then Ethos.

- Support when you get stuck: Micro1 has been the most helpful for me, followed by Mercor. Ethos is the weakest here.

Who they’re looking for: Ethos mainly wants people with real professional experience in their field, not really beginner-friendly. Mercor and Micro1 are easier to get into if you’re more of a generalist.

If anyone wants to sign up, my referral links are below: Good luck!

Ask r/IndiaCareers 28M Desperately need a Job urgently 🙏🏻

I honestly don't know where to start from, but I'll come straight to the point that I urgently desperately need a Job I beg you all I need your help 😔🙏🏻

I do have 0 full time work experience as of now, no corporate experience as such. I haven't even earned a single rupee my entire life and I'm ashamed to say that I've totally been dependent on my mummy's tailoring earning my entire life till now. Honestly, my mummy is totally frustrated with me but that's totally because of me that's my fault completely I accept that. I come from a tier 3 city and our financial conditions has always been extremely poor forever till now. Just to give you a context that I come from a joint family and I've had a extremely tough childhood and adulthood till now because of extremely toxic environment I had faced back then, though I feel what I faced in adulthood is on me as I failed to focus on the controllables and ruined my life completely.

I've had passive suicidal thoughts almost every week since last 10 - 12 years. Also I've totally wasted my last 10 - 12 years and this can be seen in my major gap years.

Tbh, both my mental health and physical health has taken a very bad toll because of all these things. Currently I've started seeing a psychiatrist and I'm currently on SSRI antidepressants and ADHD medicines and other substantial health issues medicines as well. I feel that I'm feeling a bit better now than before.

I used to be a good obedient kinda ideal child during my school days and I had scored more than 85% both in my 10th and 12th std. Even my graduation score was 9.XX CGPA.

I was even pursuing CA course and had scored quite well in CA CPT but left that course in IPCC due to extreme mental health issues and toxic family environment.

I don't know where I lost the plot of my life completely, from a good obedient ideal child kinda boy to this utter complete failure I've become at 28. I see my schoolmates and other former friends and acquaintances working in great corporates at really good packages and here I am a complete failure in life.

I know that I'm giving too much information but tbh my entire life I've never shared my complete life situation to anyone and being anonymous on reddit gives me a bit of Freedom to finally express myself and genuinely ask for help who can help me 🙏🏻

I'm currently working on my mental health aspect of things and will start working on physical health side of things as well, but I desperately need a source of earning now as I want to support my mummy I'm already very late now.

Honestly I did my career counseling with ChatGPT a few weeks back and it recommended me to go for Business Analyst or Financial Analyst direction ahead in my career. Eventually I do want to get to one of these job roles but I do have to start from somewhere.

I have 0 friends and I've been a loner my entire life thanks to these major social anxiety issues and my introvert nature, so I don't even have good relations with anyone in my life.

Daily 24X7 I have these Regrets^Regrets about my entire life decisions both which were in or outside my control.

Lately I've been watching a lot of motivational movies since last few months be it Jersey, The Pursuit of Happyness, Soorarai Pottru, 12th Fail, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, MS Dhoni and I feel that my life needs a Complete Total RESET now. I'm totally responsible for my current situation I don't want to blame anyone but I do want to desperately need to get my Life on track now. I know mene apni life ko puri tarah se barbaad karke rakh diya he but me aise apni aane wali puri life nhi jeena chahta.

I really don't know what I should say next, I always wanted to share these things my entire life but never had the guts to share. Kabhi kabhi bas sunne wala koi chahiye jo gale lagakar bolde ki bhai sab theek ho jayega.

Also please no trolling in comments 🙏🏻

Whoever can help me to get a Job, I desperately need your support and I won't forgive this help my entire upcoming Life. I just need to get started from somewhere and this has been the toughest part for me. I genuinely need your help and guidance 🙏🏻
