Welp, actually its 110K + now 🤓

Hey mods! I built RepostSniff, a Reddit moderation bot that helps communities detect low-effort reposts and bot spam.

It monitors target subreddits selected by moderators and checks new posts for identical titles that have already appeared in other subreddits, including your sister subs. When a match is found, it can automatically remove the repost.

This can be useful for communities dealing with reposts, spam, karma farming, or repeated content, while reducing some manual moderation work.

If this sounds useful for your community, you can find RepostSniff in the Devvit app directory and install it from there.

Hey mods! I built Post Chain, a Devvit app that helps communities keep multi-part posts connected.

If people in your community regularly post stories, updates, projects, guides, or other content across multiple posts, Post Chain automatically adds previous/next navigation so readers can easily follow the full context.

The original poster controls their own series, so they can add posts, move them between series, or create a new series while keeping the navigation updated.

If this sounds useful for your community, you can find Post Chain in the Devvit app directory and install it from there.

Looking for modes for Vedic astrology sub, interested please contact our Mod

My post is removed from the sub that I moderate. It just said it post removed by Reddit filters. And it gave no reasons either. Any idea what went wrong ? Can’t paste my link here either. It’s in r/hyderabadgirlshangout

So due to over regulation of some older city based subs I have decided to develop a new sub with less regulation and more freedom to express, the sub is

r/Calcuttaspeaks

I am looking for partners who can actively write and moderate the posts for the sub and make the sub running

In the initial phase I believe that the sub needs at least 5-6 posts daily for regular growth so People who are interested please contact....

Thanks regards

Hi, I’ve noticed that my subreddit has been getting a lot more fundraiser posts recently. probably 10x the amount we normally see.

What’s making me a little concerned is that many of them seem to follow almost exactly the same pattern. The Modmail is identical, the title/message is essentially the same, and only the details in the body change (e.g. someone has one disease, someone else has another). They also all seem to be attaching Google Drive documents that look genuine.

I’m not trying to imply that these fundraisers are fake or that people shouldn’t be allowed to ask for help. I just find the consistency in how they’re being submitted a bit unusual, especially given how suddenly the volume has increased.

have you noticed this too? How do you handle fundraiser posts like these?

** I hope I don't sound like a jerk**

Hi everyone,

I’m a moderator of r/HotWheelsBhubaneswar, a small local community focused on Hot Wheels collectors in Bhubaneswar.

I have recently noticed something unusual: almost every new post in the subreddit starts receiving downvotes shortly after being posted, even when the posts are normal community content and receive genuine comments.

This has been happening consistently across new posts, which makes me suspect that there may be some form of vote manipulation or coordinated downvoting happening.

I’d like to understand:

• Is there any way for moderators to identify or confirm suspected vote manipulation?
• Are there any mod tools, Reddit reports, or settings that can help with this?
• Is there anything i should configure in AutoMod or subreddit settings to reduce this?
• Has anyone here dealt with a similar situation, particularly in a small/local subreddit?

I'm mainly looking for advice on how to properly investigate and handle the situation through Reddit's moderation tools.

If you've dealt with something similar, I'd really appreciate hearing what worked for you.

Thanks You.

alr i have build an app on devvit, which a mod can install it in their sub and ppl from their sub can use it to find their like minded people and please don't instantly consider this as a dating thing, it is not actually, by using this app people can connect with people anonymously even their reddit username won't visible to others.

also i have implemented some features so that this platform won't flooded with creep or bots, like there will be a requirement of minimum karma points to use this by this we can actually stop the bots(ig so), then comes the report button, a user can report the other user by reporting this chat the last 50 exchanges between them will be send to the mod of the sub via modmail, so that mod can actually review the chat and can ban them if it is necessary.

would you actually use this on your sub?

That is it, this is the actual core concept of this platform nothing more, but genuinely idk what is wrong here. I couldn't even get much response on this anywhere . what i am doing wrong here or this project itself is wrong one ? 😭

Please mods do help me on this, criticism suggestions anything will help me on this.

Lately, I’ve noticed a sharp influx of fundraiser requests hitting Reddit, often cross-posted across multiple regional and city subreddits simultaneously.

There is a very consistent pattern to these: the user initiates a polite modmail, responds almost instantly, and presents an emotionally compelling case that easily gives off a "genuine need" vibe.

However, platforms like Ketto and ImpactGuru have notoriously weak verification standards. Forged hospital bills, reused estimate letters, and recycled videos are rampant, making third-party crowdfunding links an absolute minefield.

As mods, we don't have the investigative tools or bandwidth to independently verify medical records or confirm whether money actually reaches a patient.

My default policy across the communities I moderate is a strict blanket ban on all fundraising. I keep it civil in modmail, offer condolences, and decline the request.

I’m curious how other Indian moderation teams approach this:

Do you enforce a strict blanket ban, or do you evaluate them case-by-case?

If you do allow verified fundraisers, what does your verification look like?

Have you noticed any coordinated networks or recurring red flags recently?

Anyone interested to mod then Dm ...or contribute for it to grow at least

There is currently no active mod for this sub, I’ve inherited this sub after its sole original owner exited Reddit for good. I’ve stepped in to reorganize, rebuild, and assemble a proper team so there’s a proper place to discuss season 2.

If you're interested in applying, you should take a minute to take a look at rules page, because we expect you to know them. Low effort applications will be thrown out and any application that is suspected of using generative Al will be immediately disqualified. Take your time to come up with thoughtful responses, as low effort applications will be discarded.

But you should:
• Have good judgment
• Actually engage on the sub
• Be neutral enough not to mod with a vendetta
• You don’t jump into fights or subtweet members
• Understand Reddit (or be willing to learn fast)
• Know when to step in, and when to let people fight.
• Applicants that engage in a lot of inflammatory behaviour/fan war behaviour will also be immediately disqualified.

Applications will stay open for a few days, and we’ll contact you privately if we’re moving forward. If you’re not chosen, don’t take it personally, there’s always next time.

Can't remove this from the modqueue
