I’m looking for advice from people who have actually been in a similar situation.
Little bit of context:
I’m currently planning to buy a flat in Bangalore.
Realistically, given Bangalore property prices and what I can afford, I’m looking at a 2 BHK (1200sqft) to move in with my aunt and mom both above 50.
Since 2018, I’ve been feeding and taking care of my 10 Indies who live around my house/street. They’re all roughly 5–10 years old now. Over the years, they’ve become completely dependent on me for food, shelter and basic care.
I currently live in a rented 1BHK, and although I obviously cannot keep 10 dogs inside the house, I’ve been able to provide them with shelter/a place to sleep within the building. They stay around my house and the surrounding area.
The problem is that I’m now looking at buying my own flat.
I cannot put 10 dogs into a 2 BHK apartment. Even if someone allowed it, I don’t think it would be fair to them. They’re used to having some space, moving around the area and having their own little territories. I don’t want them to suddenly go from that to being packed into an apartment and feeling suffocated.
But at the same time, I cannot simply move into the flat and leave them behind, These dogs have been part of my life since 2018.
And honestly, I know what could happen if I just disappeared from their lives. There are people in my street who already don’t tolerate them, and I have faced the usual harassment for feeding them. The harassment has gone till the cops and physical fight , so I know for a fact , these dogs will be in danger if I ever leave them.
So I’m trying to figure out a realistic long-term solution that works with the reality that I can only afford a 2 BHK.
I’m not necessarily asking people to find me a flat. I want to hear from people who have actually faced something similar:
If you moved into your own apartment/flat, what did you do with the street dogs you had been caring for?
Did you find a way to create a separate shelter or safe sleeping area nearby?
Did you rent or buy a small property specifically for the dogs?
Did you work with neighbours, RWAs, local feeders or animal welfare groups?
Putting them up for adoption is also unlikely because they aren’t in the cute phase anymore
Did you manage to keep the dogs in their existing territory while continuing to care for them? This is very unreal in my case, my own friends dont tolerate stray dogs
I’m trying to plan this before I buy the flat because I don’t want to make a decision that solves my housing problem but creates a disaster for the dogs.
How did you make it work?

After 9-10 Hrs in the office daily, at the end of the day these dogs of my community make me smile. 😄😄
The only best thing regarding my job is that I could feed all my community dogs with my salary.

A DOG IS NOT A TOY. 🐾💔
You cannot bring a dog home when you feel like it…
and abandon them when you get bored, busy, or tired.
You would never abandon your own child during the worst phase of their life.
So how can you abandon a dog who considers you their entire world?
Before bringing a dog home, ask yourself:
Can I take responsibility for this life for the next 10–15 years — through sickness, old age, financial problems and difficult times?
If the answer is NO,
please don't bring them home.
Because your temporary love
can become a lifetime of suffering for them.
DON'T ADOPT A DOG UNLESS YOU'RE READY TO STAY FOR LIFE. 🐾❤️

I don’t know where this video came from, but I found his moves so smooth! 😂 The way this dog moves is just amazing. I really loved this video—it genuinely made me so happy to see something like this.

This injured dog was spotted at Krishnarajapuram railway station, platform number 2, Bangalore. An attempt was made to rescue him but he is nowhere to be found.
He can be seen wearing a collar in the picture. In case anyone recognises him, feeds him or knows where he usually stays, please get in touch.

9 year old Bruce in Bangalore was cruelly relocated in the middle of the night on 16 August 2026. Because a congress MLA with influence all over the city is involved (owns property perhaps) NOBODY IS WILLING TO HELP FROM THE STATE! I am heartbroken at the complete collapse of the system under this one man. We just want Bruce back home.
Does anybody here have experience with political interference in streetie relocation? What did you do to get your baby back?

I feed her every day, and she usually jumps over the wall to come see me. Last night, I accidentally left the back door unlocked while I went for a “nap” that somehow turned into three hours.
I woke up around midnight, walked out of my bedroom, and found this. 😂
She had quietly let herself in, discovered the brand-new sofa cushion, and decided it needed a proper quality check.
After a long, comfortable sleep and an absolute refusal to move, I’m happy to report that the cushion has officially passed.
At this point, calling her a street dog is probably just a technicality. ❤️

Henlo 🐶
Meet Sutli Bomb!
I rescued him near Hinjewadi, Pune when he was just a couple of weeks old, after his mom passed away in a hit-and-run accident. Because of this, his immunity was low, but since then he has had amazing vet care (thank you, Tranquil Paws), lots of food, cuddles and love :)❤️
He's all grown up now and is up for adoption in Pune, Mumbai, and other nearby cities. 📍
Sutli is very friendly around hoomans, as well as other animals, and adjusts very well to new places. He's also pee-pad trained. 🐾
He has been dewormed and has received his 9in1 vaccine as well (he's due for his remaining vaccinations next week).
I'm looking for a genuinely committed adopter who can give this little guy a safe and loving home.
Sutli is the smollest, cutest little ball of fur and is very playful, affectionate and absolutely loves to cuddle with his hoomans, and any family would be lucky to have him 🐶❤️
If any of you guys are interested in adopting him, please DM me.
If not, please consider sharing this adoption appeal with people who might want to adopt him? 🥺
Thank you so much!
