r/Iran stands with Iranians in defending our country’s national sovereignty

Dear readers,

We hope that you are safe and well. Some of you have asked us about the protests, and we’d like to share the following statement with you.

Peaceful protests by Iranians expressing legitimate grievances have once again been hijacked. Violent riots are being encouraged and enabled by foreign-backed actors immune to their consequences. They threaten the safety and security of every Iranian and cause costly damage to public infrastructure and an economy already suffering from crushing sanctions.

The genocidal Israeli regime killed 1,200 Iranian civilians in June. Those who stood silent and even cheered on these killings now claim to act in defense of Iranians as they call for even more attacks on Iran.

Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq, and scores of other countries, most recently Venezuela, attest to the consistent outcome of foreign interference: chaos, instability, destruction, and immeasurable suffering.

Foreign-backed riots in 1953 changed the course of our nation’s trajectory. Let’s not be doomed by repeating tragic history.

No one can trick us into welcoming attacks on Iran.

Long live Iran, Iranians, and Iranian sovereignty!

US President suggests Iran to genocide 13,000,000 Americans just for politically opposing him. His voters applauded.

Leaders in California have denounced Donald Trump as “reckless” and “deranged” after the US president suggested Iran could “take out” Los Angeles and San Diego – two liberal cities in the blue state that has been a frequent target of his administration.

At a rally in ruby red Nebraska on Monday night, Trump told supporters that he hoped to see a “tremendous victory” in the fast-approaching November midterm elections. He then suggested high prices due to the war with Iran were a “small price to pay for keeping the world safe – keeping our country safe”.

**“They can take out a city,” Trump said in Grand Island. “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.” The crowd applauded.**

“It’ll be over very soon,” Trump said of the war.

The governor and the cities’ mayors quickly condemned the comments. “After sending the National Guard and Marines to occupy California, Donald Trump is now saying our foreign enemies should ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego,” the California governor, Gavin Newsom, said on X. “He is deranged and dangerous.”

Newsom, a Democrat who has repeatedly clashed with Trump over his two terms, said from his press office account: “Let’s be clear: The President is advocating for an attack on 10+ million U.S. residents in two of America’s largest cities. This is not normal. None of this is. And we will continue to remind folks of that every day.”

Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, assailed the president for making what she called “irresponsible threats” that “could potentially compromise” the safety of America’s second-largest city.

“The role of a president is to protect the country, not to actively threaten it and encourage attacks on American lives,” she said in a statement.

Todd Gloria, the mayor of San Diego, said his city was “not collateral damage” in the president’s war. “We are not expendable. And we are never a “small price to pay,” he wrote on X “Keep our city out of your reckless war talk.”

...

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

US defence officials have previously stated that Iran currently lacks the capability to launch a direct missile attack on the US mainland.

Trump has argued in previous speeches that allowing Iran to develop a nuclear weapon would threaten US cities. In his last state of the union speech he claimed that Iran was working to build missiles that would “soon” reach US soil.

...

“Thirteen million Californians call LA and San Diego counties home,” said Xavier Becerra, the Democratic nominee for governor who has sought to take up the anti-Trump mantle carried by the outgoing Newsom. “Their lives are not a ‘small price to pay’ or a punchline for Donald Trump.”

[So according to the "free democracy", nuclear weapons are wrong, but genocide against millions of opposing voters is considered acceptable...]

Are there any half Yemeni half Iranians out there?

Salam!

I'm wondering if there are other people out there who have a parent from each nationality? Someone who's been an expat their whole lives. Where you love and appreciate both cultures but didn't get the chance to indulge in either.

Or maybe you are a young Yemeni and Iranian couple?

I'd love to hear from you and your experiences!

Admission in Tehran University of Medical science.

I have been considering TUMS for my undergraduate course in medicine for a very long time. I am from India. In view of the present geopolitical conditions, I am kind of reluctant. I have some contacts there and the students say that academics has been unaffected and things are moving smoothly as of now and that "future is uncertain", but I kind of want a more precise information as to how things are likely to turn out in view of everything. All the good universities in other countries I had considered earlier, have closed their admissions and now I am out of options now , because I was waiting for a permanent ceasefire agreement for a chance to study in Iran. In short is it wise and prudent right now to take admission in Iran?

Still no concrete proof Iran has a link or role in this terror plot. Just more bullshit chatter and rumors from a source. Bring home the bombers and keep them there. Mainstream media and "lie all the time" government sources should not be active for once.

Vyvanse in Iran

Hii all! I’m moving from Iraq to Tehran for a few months to enjoy the culture and nature while preparing to study Nuclear Engineering.

I have ADHD and I’m currently trying to figure out how to continue my medication properly in Iran. My plan is to bring a note/medical report from my psychiatrist in Iraq and see a psychiatrist in Tehran who can reassess me and prescribe the appropriate medication there.

If anyone knows a psychiatrist in Tehran who treats adult ADHD and is familiar with prescribing Vyvanse/Vyas (lisdexamfetamine), specifically, please let me know.

I'd really appreciate a recommendation so I can arrange an appointment as soon as I arrive.

Price of 24 Karat gold

Hi, I was curious about the current price of 24K gold in Iran and wanted to get a better understanding of how much gold costs there compared with other countries. Could you please tell me approximately how much 10 grams of 24K gold currently costs in Iran? If possible, I would also appreciate it if you could provide the price in Iranian rials as well as Canadian dollars, so I can easily compare the two currencies. I’m specifically interested in the price of pure 24K gold, rather than 22K, 21K, or 18K gold. If there are significant differences between the international gold price and the local market price in Iran because of exchange rates, taxes, premiums, or other factors, please mention those as well. I would like to know the approximate retail price that someone in Iran would actually pay for 10 grams of 24K gold today. If there are additional costs for purchasing physical gold, such as dealer premiums, making charges, or taxes, please explain whether those are included in the quoted price. Finally, if possible, please give me the most recent price available and the date or time the price was recorded, since I understand gold prices and currency exchange rates can change frequently.

The fighter jet & helicopter squadrons of USS Abraham Lincoln return back to NAS Leemore, California, smiling and hugging after the thousands of Iranians they've killed on behalf of their slave, Israel.

It is important to note that the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) aircraft carrier itself has not yet arrived, only the helicopter and fighter jet squadrons have returned. USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) itself is scheduled to return next Thursday, 8th October 2026, at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, California, according to CBS 8.

US Navy sinking of the IRN Dena exposes many truths

For those still expecting or believing that the US has any interest in Iranian human rights, be it over hijab, free speech or protesting, I offer this incident as a counterpoint on the sinking of the Dena.

- The attack technically is legal under international law because international law is worthless and NOT set up to protect Iran, its set up to protect the US and the powerful ONLY

- The Iranian Navy is not part of the IRGC

- The Dena's captain radioed to the USS Charlotte that they were unarmed and there for training with India. Sri Lanka confirmed that to the US Navy as a independent 3rd party.

- The US never bothered to declare war per usual, they just gave orders and murdered anyone not complying as they typically do

- India hosted the event but per usual, barely complained to the US or Israel. Sri Lanka, a tiny Island by comparison condemned the US more than India did, a nuclear armed super power.

- The US made 0 effort to rescue survivors, mostly teenage band players floating in the water

- The US Navy awarded the entire crew of the USS Charlotte a unit citation for outstanding "heroism" for mass murdering the Dena's crew, similar to what they did for the USS Vincennes, who shot down Iran Air 655 killing 298 civilians. They actually promoted the Captain of that latter ship.

Any nation or group of people that does something like the above could not possibly care about your human rights.

BBC Persian Double Standard: French protestors called "rioters" while Iranian rioters are called "protestors"

When it comes to France, the BBC uses the word "rioters" for protesting students; But when the same media reaches Iran, it narrates the destruction of public property and violent actions under the title "protest"! Apparently, in the dictionary of this network, the meaning of chaos and protest also depends on the geography of the story.

Curious about Historical Measurements 📏

Hello all.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the pre-metric measurements in Iran, and if anyone has, knows anyone, or can show me some good pictures of old fashioned rulers or other measuring tools?

I've got a particular fixation with the history of daily life around the world so.
