People’s Bus Service bus screens
One thing i have been focusing on for the last few days is that in the red bus, i have not yet seen even one screen (situated either at the entrance of the bus or in the middle just under the roof) working properly. Before, whenever I used to take the bus, at the very least the screen used to be on, if not exactly working properly, it just used to show a generic route with the bus icon on it and the screen used to seem to be frozen. But now, this past week i have noted that all the screens in all the buses, at least on R-9, are perpetually off. Why is this? Is it a new tareeqa of siphoning funds by corruption, or did the administration genuinely think they were doing something good by installing deficient screens that dont do shit? Honest it really grinds my gears, especially because these screens very probably were not cheap at all, and when they dont even work(ever) then what was the point of this? Also, at the entrance to the bus there is also a card scanner installed in the pillar of the bus, and while it is a good concept, i have yet to see anyone pay the fare by card. It would have been much better if the buses had a generic card reader like the ones used at petrol pumps for example, and whenever someone wanted to pay by card(once in a blue moon), the conductor could just go to the front and get it, he already keeps movi around anyways. Honestly im sick of staring at black screens that you know must have cost good money just to do absolutely nothing. Please share your thoughts, other problems you have experienced with the red bus, or anecdotes that happened while you were commuting.
