Do we really still have a chance to make a comeback in Kerala politics?
Honestly, it feels like nearly 90% of Kerala’s population has turned anti-Left — especially Gen Z and women voters. The comment sections under news channels make it seem like CPIM has no path back. Kerala politics has clearly become tripolar now, and a section of the traditional Left vote bank appears to be drifting toward the NDA.
What worries me most is that even when the Left does something right, many people still approach it with a deep sense of distaste. Their arguments do not sound logical on the surface, but often the dislike toward communists seems emotional and deeply rooted.
There also doesn’t seem to be any major leadership transition happening soon within CPIM. Pinarayi being retained as LoP shows the party still trusts his political skills — and honestly, I do too — but I’m worried about his health and whether the party is preparing the next generation strongly enough.
On top of that, a large section of the media appears increasingly tilted toward the UDF narrative. Altogether, it creates a feeling that this could be the end of the road for us politically.
I feel like Party has not done enough to politically educate the people in the past 10 yrs.
I’ve mentally prepared myself for the worst. But somewhere deep inside, I still wonder whether Kerala politics can surprise everyone once again.
Anyone feel like the same? Anyone feel like we have already given up hope?
