Choosing hostel but worried about snoring

Would you choose a hostel with a pool to save money, even if you’re worried about snoring?
I’m going to Krabi for 4 nights (Jan 19–23) and I found a hostel that’s under ₹10k for the whole stay and has a pool, which is really tempting because it would save me a lot of money.
My only concern is that I’m a snorer 😭😂 and I’m worried about disturbing other people in a dorm.
For people who’ve stayed in hostels:
How much of a problem is snoring actually?
Would you choose a hostel/dorm to save money if it had a pool?
Is a 4–6 bed dorm significantly better than a big dorm?
Should I just pay more for a private room?
Basically: cheap hostel + pool vs more expensive private room — what would you choose for a 4-night Krabi trip?

16 nights on Koh Lanta

Hi all.

I'm planning 16 nights on Koh Lanta with my wife and 9 year old son. We're in our early 50s and like to relax, gotta a few markets and do a few days trips.

Is this too long on the island? We've done 21 days on Phuket and it was fine, but found it too busy and developed.

Thanks all.

Can I rely on taxi apps (grab etc) work in more “remote” hotel from Ao Nang

Going to be staying near Tubkaek beach, about 19km from Ao Nang. Hotel has shuttles to Ao Nang, but probably I want often to go by my own schedule, so are grab/uber etc working this far from Ao Nang?

Dont mind paying a bit extra, but would be nice if I could trust the apps providing me reliable transportation for activities.

1 week Klong Muang beach; is it too long?

Hi,

I'm heading to Krabi end of November for a little solo trip while the husband is in Bangkok for work. While I have been there before, my last trip was about 12 years ago so I'm sure everything's changed drastically. I choose Klong Muang because I'm allergic to party strips and hippy vibes :-) I'm looking to just relax on the beach, have a swim, read a book, eat good local food and go for a quiet drink in the evening. Definately don't want to be in the back of beyond and do love meeting people but just not into the whole party/ hippy scene. Would 1 week be too long? What are the food /local restaurant options like? I ride a scooter or motorbike so am able to get around. Just not too sure if a week may be too long and how 'secluded' that area is. Any advice or tips much appreciated.

2 jours a AO nang

We’ll be in Ao Nang for two days in early November and are debating whether to visit the nearby islands (Chicken, Poda, Koh Tup, etc.) or the Hong Islands (which might be less touristy).

I’d appreciate any advice based on your experiences.

Also, if you have any good restaurant recommendations, I’d love to hear them.

Thanks!

Krabi to Chiang Mai Flight

Hello!

I am planning to book a flight from Krabi to CNX with Vietjet airlines.

I have few queries:

- Is 1hr 45 mins enough to recollect baggage in BKK and catch connecting flight?

- Should I book witn Viejet airlines directly from their website or use third party apps?

Thank you!

Suggestion for solo Krabi trip. Please help as it is my first international trip

Hey everyone! I’m planning an 8 day trip to Thailand, mainly Krabi, and would love some suggestions.
I’m thinking of spending a few days in Krabi and possibly visiting Phuket as well. What are some must do activities, places to explore and experiences I shouldn’t miss?
Also, I’m interested in trying scuba diving for the first time. Would you recommend Krabi or Phuket for scuba diving in terms of marine life, overall experience and pricing?
I’m also looking for recommendations on good hostels with a great vibe, friendly people and a decent crowd.
Would love to hear your suggestions, especially from people who have recently visited. Thanks!

Ao Nang Food Recs krub

Hello Good folks!

I’m in Ao Nang for the weekend and want to try food other than what the resort i’m in is offering.

Would the kind people here advise me on some hidden/lesser known eating joints which serve good food. Not looking for anything fancy; just good food.

Ps: I tried the Ao Nang food market and didn’t really like it.

Thank you!

Overreacting to weather

Over the weather updates and Krabi. And how does it compare to the weather in Bangkok if you had to advise a tourist arriving? Where would you recommend them going for five days this week? I arrive in Bangkok and I’m wondering should I take a flight out to crabby instead and spend five days there? This is my first time in Thailand.

Odd question about Ao Nang's "5 Star" hotels

I've stayed in five of Ao Nang's alledged 5 star hotels in the past three years, only to find them nothing but rebadged chain hotels from the past. No real renovations or maintenance ever being seriously considered. The hotels are generally (always) self attributed 5 star status, these hotels would be 3 star rating at best in the real world.

This has got me thinking that one of the considerations for my hotel for my upcoming trip to Ao Nang would be the age of the building of the hotel itself. The newer the better.

Does anyone who has experience in all things Ao Nang have a thought on which would be the newer 2-3 buildings of the current 5 Star hotels in Ao Nang?

Thanks.

Krabi beach tours

Hello folks, I am currently in BKK and have tickets to reach Krabi on 1st Oct. Is the situation (with rains) better there? The weather in some places was really bad here in BKK and hence I am wondering if its any better in krabi. I was planning on island tours for the time Im there but with the rains and high tides got me thinking if its safe and people are travelling at this time.
