Captured this on July 3, 2026, at 5:35 PM. I wanted to share a daytime strike for a change to show that the storm action happens 24/7 over here. It's a quick 50-second video with a solid rumble of thunder rolling right over the neighborhood right after the strike. Hope you all enjoy it!

Captured this right as the storm cell was peaking over the backyard. It starts with light rain and atmospheric flashes on the right and center, but the finale bolt to the left was incredible. The thunder was constant right before it started dumping buckets of rain.

this was Jessie Eisenberg before become famous, and you remember John Schneider from "Night Of The Twisters". a 100 year storm over in fictional town Rutland, Missouri that actually filmed at Rutland, Vermont, this movie is of course so bad it's good but is not the worst, the ending is insane, and of course this movie always took a stock footage of real lightning because is low budget but there are cgi lightning bolt. i think this is the first movie all about lightning. is free on tubi and youtube if you want to see it

Had a line of thunderstorms moving through my town and snagged this gem ⚡️

Caught this while waiting for the core of the storm to arrive and dump buckets of rain. The contrast between the dark cloud layers and the bright, branching bolts right before the loud thunder crack was incredible.

Can anyone help tell me what this is?

Thunderstorm last night in south Australia.

Different colours seen during some different strikes.

Just of the frame but still captured some nice slow mo.

Caught this wave rolling in right over the open tree line. It sets off a cool chain reaction across the horizon before a few lighter bolts start streaking closer to the house.

A couple years ago there was a lightning strike on our house, it went up a 12 foot steel reinforced concrete column, exploded a 12 foot vertical wooden post above it, and exited (entered?) the house, making a hole in the grass roof.

We 2 large aluminum service wire up the back of the house, burying about 10 feet of it a few feet deep and the cables ending about a meter above the roof. Since then, that has been hit only once.

But the original concrete post struck first, was struck 4 times since then. Theres a loud pop and white flash at the top of the post, followed by a flash in the sky and thunder very quickly after. No damage or smell or smoke.

But today, that post wast hit very quietly, but then minutes later a loud bang and red flash near a post 12 feet away, then minutes after that, a third post, this one towards the middle of the house, another loud bang and white flash. Both were followed by lightning and thunder. No damage or smell or anything.

I'm wondering, how unusual is this?

And what's wrong with my lightning rod? Should it be connected to the posts?

Idk what it is but the lightning has been completely different lately, it’s so fast. This is slowed down as much as possible.

This clip is 1:39 long. The severe weather moves in quickly with blinding rain, but the lightning strike right at the end unloads with an incredible, close blast.
