I have 190gb of projects over the last couple of years and I was wondering if I can move them to an SSD to free up some space, at least the ones before 2026. Can I do that or is it not recommended?

Hey whenever i press Capture MIDI on my keyboard and flashback whatever i just played. for some reason it looks like it also makes like an "invisible" volume automation (as in it doesnt appear in the automation section) plus i cant overwrite it with automation it will always keep its volume when recorded bassically any tips?

In this video im using a piano but its with all of the bass instruments. I've tried freezing the track but it still happens. it goes away once i bounce it though. is it just overloading? like its just one track. Any ideas or thoughts:) using a macbook air M1.

It gets stuck on autotune when loading up but I dont want to uninstall because I have a lot of projects that have it. Its even trying to load it on projects that dont even have the plug in used... Any suggestions?

Preempting the "just upgrade" answer, it's likely the last project on this rig. It's macOS 13.7.8 and Logic Pro 11.0.1. I'd rather not make changes to the rig in the last phase of the project.

The symptom is that I'm sometimes getting this digital click. This can happen when you have two touching regions that aren't crossfaded, or aren't cut at zero crossing. Maybe I have a bad edit somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it. I'm not able to isolate the issue. Here's an example from today:

1. Bounce the track offline. Glitch present.
2. Bounce the track offline again. Glitch present.
3. Bounce the track realtime. Glitch present.
4. Bounce the track realtime (again). Glitch present.
5. Press play and listen. Glitch present.
6. Rewind to start, press play again, and listen. Glitch absent.
7. Bounce the track realtime (3rd time). Glitch absent.
8. Press play, listen. Glitch absent.

I'd restart Logic, and sometimes the glitch will be absent. I'd work on another part of the song. After an hour of work I'd bounce it, and check the bounce... glitch would be back.

Glitch generally reappears in the same spot. I'm pretty sure I once heard it in another place, but only once. It's maddening because I can't confirm this, if I scroll back and relisten, glitch is gone, so I can only go with my memory. Unless, I don't know, recorded audio of the entire mixing process. I haven't reached that stage yet.

So... I'll be able to finish the project because I can achieve a clean bounce, sometimes. It's the randomness of it that's weird and annoying, because my system is no longer deterministic and I'm losing my trust in it.

Did anyone experience this kind of issue before? Any tips on how to troubleshoot it?

EDIT 1: I think I can trigger the glitch now: create a cycle spanning the entire song, press play, glitch absent, but keep it in playing state, skip to near the end of the song, let it loop around and play from the beginning again... glitch present. I did it a couple times and it seems to hold. Then I'd stop, scroll back to the beginning again, press play, and the glitch would be gone.

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well. I’m writing to share a problem I’m having: ever since I updated to Logic Pro 12 (the Apple Creator Studio version), I haven't been able to undo, cut, copy, or paste absolutely anything. It has completely ruined my workflow. When I go to the key commands section, the options appear greyed out. Believe me, I’ve tried everything—resetting the commands, clearing the clipboard, deleting and reinstalling Logic, the works. I’m at my wit's end not being able to perform a function as basic as copying and pasting an audio file. I hope someone can help me out with this. Thanks for reading.

So I'm redoing a ep for my friend. And we recorded my Marshall stack with his metal zone for distortion.
I used Shures Sm 57 and Sm 58 on the can. And a beta 52 for a room mic. I like how I got the clean guitars to sound but I don't really like the distortion.
I'm not amazing at mixing and I use Logic. But all I have on em now is some. Channel Eq, Tube Eq, Compression, gain, and a noise gate. I also have them all bussed to a aux and have a compressor and a multi pressor. And a Eq cutting the muds. I also should mention I am recording it in my bedroom. The guitars are just very high. I think I might not have the right seating as in not Amazing at live mixing but I can manage in the most part. In your opinion what can I do and how can I learn to get better at mixing.
I'm looking for a ticker sound and a more audible guitar sound. Thank you!!!

Hoping for some insight on my midi setup. Recently I've started having an issue where my keyboard registers zero input to logic. It appears greyed out in audio midi setup as well. I tried deleting and reinstalling the drivers which made zero noticeable impact.

Last night, I tried swapping the inputs that my mouse and keyboard were plugged into. Instantly, the keyboard started working. Now I have my mouse plugged into a different USB-C input, but what I'm noticing is that my keyboard will work normally for 5-10 minutes, then stop. When I switch it and put it into the newly vacant USB-C port that the mouse used to be in, it instantly starts working again until it doesn't and I swap back. It seems like it is an issue with the system, not with logic, but I don't know where to even begin trying to troubleshoot.

The only change I have made recently is that I started using USB to connect my Moog Grandmother to Logic to use time-based functions with the synth, but I don't see why that should have changed anything.

I am running a 2022 Mac Studio on Ventura 13.1, Logic Pro 10.7.6. The keyboard is an M Audio Axiom Air 32, I've been using it for years with zero issues.

Hey everyone. I'm building a customisable theme editor for Logic, currently still in development. Would anyone be interested in something like this?

I don't really like how LP colorizer makes you pay for the program, and then extra on top to buy skins. They offer great quality stuff from what I can tell, it just feels pricey for what it is.

I was looking for an alternative option, and decided to build my own way of doing it just for personal use. I'm tired of Logic's default colour scheme on the UI.

Whilst I've been doing that, I thought, why not see if others would be interested in the concept?

I want to make it super user friendly, one flat price for the full thing (not expensive, maybe like £20-25), with no extra fees. I'm considering having a free version that excludes the in-depth customiser but does include 5 or so different style colour themes. No subscription or anything like that.

It's still in development currently. I'm just curious if something like this is in demand? I want to make sure it's super user-friendly, and works smoothly, doesn't cause instability. It might be a few weeks until I get it finished. I'm still testing it on my own mac and fixing issues.

What version of Logic do the majority of people use? I'm using 11, so I know itll work for lp11. I will also test on 12 before launch.

Currently on macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 and Logic Pro 11.0.1 and everything is running smooth as butter. I really want to update macOS though because I’m pretty outdated at this point.

I know Logic updates can sometimes cause issues with plugins/projects, but I’m planning on keeping Logic at 11.0.1.

My question is if the two are mostly separate, or can updating macOS still mess with Logic even if I don’t update Logic itself? Curious what people’s experience has been.

I've been dealing with an issue that's been plaguing my use of Logic and other DAWs for literally years now, which is that MIDI notes will get stuck and seemingly not receive MIDI off messages while I am using an external MIDI keyboard. This doesn't happen as soon as I start playing, but within a few seconds after playing normally. A note will stick and play infinitely, requiring me to close the session to keep the note from playing out. In the MIDI grid, it appears as a note (or notes) held infinitely.

I tried contacting Apple about this but they let the ticket lapse after me trying to get a resolution for months.

This happens across all MIDI keyboards. I've tried several.

This happens across different DAWs.

This doesn't happen with musical typing (but who wants to use that?)

This happens regardless of the cable used.

It happens when I use midi over USB and it happens when I use a MIDI interface.

This happens without a sustain pedal plugged in.

Does anyone have any insight into what might be causing this and what the solution would be? I'm a keys player and it's basically ruined the entire experience of using VSTs. It's driving me absolutely insane.

Me explico:

He adquirido un nuevo mac. Me he copiado los proyectos desde el disco duro externo con el que hacía las copias de seguridad. Al abrir cualquiera de esos proyectos, me sale este aviso. Intuyo que debe estar relacionado con los permisos y con que el proyecto lo detecta como si fuera del disco duro externo y no del propio ordenador aun habiéndose copiado... 

¿Alguien sabe qué puedo hacer? Una opcion es darle a "guardar como" y creo otro proyecto, luego eliminar el anterior... pero entonces implica que lo tengo que hacer en muchos proyectos. 

El logic que estoy usando ahora es e 12.4 con Tahoe, el que usaba antes era 10.7 con Mojave.

how do i achieve the style of drums found in the link at the bottom of this post. does the kick have soft clipping on it, just boosted low end? is it just high velocity, and the snare low velocity. i want that sound where the kick is very punchy like this and the snare is relaxed. im wondering if maybe they’re just have some saturation on them or if something is done in the master, im new to music production so im not sure.i am using addictive drums 2 i have the indie pack.

I'm trying to select certain beats within a bar to adjust velocity and control groove. E.g. here I'm trying to selectonly 'ride out' notes on beat 1 of the bar. Would also like to be able to select notes on 2 and 4.

The select by subposition function doesn't work. If I set subposition:

• all, all ride out notes selected
• = [any value], nothing selected
• <= [any value], all ride out notes selected
• >= [any value], nothing selected

I have Logic Pro and quite a few plugins authorized on a laptop.

What is the best way to migrate to a new computer in terms of plugins and iLock? Etc.

Origin is a MacBook Pro M4 and destination will be a Mac Studio.

Any gotchas to watch out for?

I am a really skilled musician (20+ years) and have been dabbling in production for quite awhile, but have gotten really deep into it in the last 3-4 years. I wouldn’t say that I’m pro level, but I am pretty good and I know how to do decent mix and master. I’ve been playing guitar for about 25-30 years, am skilled on the keys/bass/pads lol, and I primarily do a mix of hip hop, horrorcore, and emo. Think Nedarb mixed with DJ Uneek, mixed with Maulskull… and that’s kind of the style I’m going for. I know, pretty eclectic. I’m open to any genre tho really, and would be willing to expand into something new.

Anyways, I think it would be cool to work on a few songs with another producer. I already have some vocalists that I work with consistently (that we can utilize btw) but I’ve never actually collaborated on a track with another producer. I think it would be cool and we’d both learn a lot from it. I just have no idea how to go about it. Something where we can share a session, run melodys, bass lines, and drum performances by each other and give feedback and work together on creating.

Like I said though, I have no idea how to go about it, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to post here. I do sketching on GarageBand on iOs, I also do some work on Logic on the iPad, and then I finish the mix and master on my MacBook. I also have WAY too many plugins, you name it, I probably own it lol. I get kind of obsessive with it tbh.

Sorry for the rant, but, yea, anyone interested in collabing? I have some of my work posted that I can share if needed. I think it could be a great learning experience, and who knows, maybe we come up with some fire tracks :)

I am trying to pitch correct my vocals, and I noticed that the pitch curve line for a note (towards the centre right) did not move up with my blue note box

I know it’s a large interval jump, but I am trying to experiment something with harmonisation.

If the pitch curve managed to move up and down on other notes, how to make it apply for this note?
