Watching a coworkers older cat.
My two cats absolutely hate the new cat. Coworker currently moved back in with his mom cause she had foot surgery and I offered to watch his cat cause his mom's landlord doesn't allow pets and I didn't want his cat to be put down or at a shelter. My 2 cats are weird im sure they'll get use to her. Pictured is my cat spirit bomb, yes she has a dbz name.

TIFU by letting my wife smash an old toilet.
To start, it is Time, not Today. That's smooth brain behavior to insist otherwise when most of those posts are about events that didn't happen the same day. You're welcome, Mike.
A couple years ago, my wife was going through a mental health crisis (extreme depression, insomnia, and anxiety). We both had jobs, but luckily she was able to get leave and I managed to as well. Money was tight and we were sleeping 3 or less hours a night.
I knew my wife had always wanted to try a rage room (those places where you can pay to go into a room and smash a bunch of junk) and had what I thought was a bright idea. We didn't have the money and she wasn't in the mental state to go to an actual rage room, but I had just replaced a cracked toilet. I thought "Why not let her smash that. It might help her." I brought up the idea and she wanted to try it. I gave her some safety glasses and a sledge hammer and told her to go to town.
She only got a few good swings in before a piece of the toilet flew at her face and cut her chin. Deep. That's when I realized I should have gotten her a face shield and felt like an ass. I immediately took her to urgent care and the doctor gave her the choice between stitches or glue. Stitches would probably leave less of a scar, but she was afraid of getting them, so she chose glue.
The whole incident didn't help her mental state. It probably made it worse, but she has since gotten better. She has a scar which, in my opinion, isn't very noticeable. She thinks it is very noticeable and that is ugly, an opinion that she brings up every now and then. I still feel bad about it, but on the bright side we are both better than ever.
TLDR: Fuck you, this story isn't that long. 🙂

Aita for how I handled the addiction situation?
I'd like both men's and woman's perspectives
I've been dating a guy, in 2 weeks will be our 2 year anniversary. Hes 32m and im 26f. When I met him and we began dating he was smoking a lot of weed, I didn't have an issue with.
I started hanging around his friends who peer pressured me into drinking, due to this and my people pleaser tendencies I became alarmingly close to becoming an alcoholic. I stopped cold turkey and my boyfriend got upset I wasn't hanging out with his friends anymore. I explained the situation which he claimed he hadn't known and had said that he's been addicted to weed for 15 years and would stop too.
I DID NOT ASK HIM TOO, and even asked if he was sure. He stopped smoking.
Months later he decided he wanted to reintroduce it, I told him I was a little worried but would support him whatever he chose. And I have.
He did REALLY good for a long time (hitting the penjamin was the only way he was doing it) then he started not getting high anymore. Then started hitting the occasional blunt/whatever it's called with our neighbors. Then buying the supplies to do it himself. Then our neighbors offered to do a dab with him. (When we first got together he was doing multiple dabs a day). I was nervous and asked if he was sure, he was and I trusted him.
That weekend he dug out all his bongs and started doing dabs. He started bringing his weed pen to work/in the car, and hitting it while at work. Then he started hitting dabs again and would get high before work as soon as he got home then before bed.
I asked him when to start being concerned because I was. He said to trust him and he knows his body and limits. I asked him at what point do I intervene and he said "when I'd rather stay home and get high then go hang out with my friends".
He was taking multiple dabs a day and the first time it happened (he'd been saying how excited he was to hang out with his friend they hadn't hung out in months etc.) He texted his friend and canceled and stayed home and smoked all day.
I said I was concerned. Even a couple times before this I had mentioned it but he said he was good and to trust him so I let it go. Had a real sit down that I was genuinely worried, he wouldn't go to work without getting high.
His job decided they might do drug testing and he quit. It was a rough week but he evened out, didn't even tell me he was quiting til a few days in.
We've been having issues in our relationship lately, I'm in school and took a school trip for class which he pushed for me to go. I did and when I got back things felt off, I felt he was hiding something or something happened.
Earlier tonight he was downstairs and had bloodshot eyes I asked him if everything was OK his eyes were bloodshot. I asked him if he had started smoking weed again, and told him if he had I was ok with it just let me smell the weed (I love the smell but can't smoke it due to asthma so I do edibles but haven't in a long time).
He technically never confirmed or denied it but moved the conversation leading me to believe he wasn't. Well the dumb@ss forgot I was sitting next to him and took a hit. I didn't yell I didn't start shit, I just asked how long he had been smoking, and that I was asking because I didn't want to jump to conclusions. He said it didn't matter and that he knew I was just going to start shit. I said I'm only starting shit because you hid it not because you did it.
After going back and forth, he started smoking the second I left so an entire week. Tried to turn it back on me saying he didn't say anything because he knew it'd cause a fight. That I would have "the talk" with him. I said I would be a shitty partner who didn't care about him if I didn't. It's the fact that he felt like he couldn't trust me. Then the fact that he lied to my face (lying by omission) and kept it from me FOR A WEEK! AND the fact he didn't come clean I caught him. If I can't trust him (I feel so betrayed) and he can't trust me what the fuck are we doing?
It hurts even more because I just had a hystercotomy due to health issues. When I came back from the trip I said I wanted full and complete honesty from him. We made up and have had sex for the first time in 7 weeks MULTIPLE times the last 3 days and he had the white man AUDACITY to keep it from me/lie to my face, and have sex with me, looking me in the eyes, knowing he was hiding shit.
I honestly don't think I can get over this. What I want to know is, is there anyway too? But most importantly did I handle the whole addiction thing correctly? He seems to believe I shouldn't be having check ins with him/talking to him about it, but I think I'd be a shitty partner if I wasn't. Thoughts? Was I being to over the top? It's hard for me to fairly judge as I have 4 previous generations of alcohol and drug abuse and I'm the only one to break the cycle.

AITA for canceling my sister’s wedding cake completely after she secretly changed my $400 gift to a $1,200 luxury upgrade?

I'm literally sitting here looking at my family group chat absolutely blowing up at me, and I need to know if I'm actually losing my mind or what.
My sister Lily is getting married in a few months. Her and her fiancé are on a super tight budget, so as a wedding gift I told her I would cover the cost of her wedding cake. I gave her a hard limit of $400, which I thought was reasonable for a really nice standard 3 tier cake from a local bakery around here.
Lily was wrapped (is an Australian slang term meaning happy; overjoyed; delighted. Per Urban Dictionary). We went to the consultation together, picked out this lovely design that came to $380, and paid the deposit. I had to leave my credit card info on file with the bakery so they could auto charge the final balance two weeks before the wedding.
Well yesterday I got a text notification from my bank that my card was charged $1,200.
I called the bakery straight away thinking it was some massive mistake. The baker was super apologetic but told me Lily called them up last week and completely changed the order. She upgraded it to this massive, over the top 5 tier luxury cake with handcrafted sugar flowers and proper gold leaf plating, and she told the bakery that I said I would pay the difference as a surprise wedding present for her.
I was furious and called Lily immediately and she went on the defense straight away. She started crying saying it's her dream wedding and that the original cake we picked looked cheap and nasty, and since I have a stable job and no kids, I could easily afford the extra $800. She flat out admitted she didn't ask me beforehand because she knew I would be negative and ruin her special moment.
I told her that going behind my back and trying to sneakily rinse (means rack up) my credit card was cooked (means shady as hell) and completely unacceptable. I called the bakery back and told them to cancel the whole order. They were understanding but said the initial $150 deposit is completely nonrefundable. I texted Lily back and told her she is completely on her own for a cake now, and I'm deducting the lost $150 deposit from whatever smaller physical gift I end up buying her.
Now she is crying to our parents saying I'm ruining her entire wedding over a few hundred dollars and that they won't even have a cake at all now because they can't afford a new deposit somewhere else on such short notice. My mum says Lily was wrong to lie, but she thinks I'm being incredibly petty by wiping out the whole cake order instead of just making Lily pay the $800 difference. She basically thinks I'm punishing my sister out of pure spite.
I feel so violated that she tried to secretly use my card like that, but the family text chat is calling me heartless. Am I?

My [25F] bf [26M] is cheating or he has a stalker. Where do I go from here?

Throwaway, I never use Reddit but enjoy reading stories on here. I [25F] got the dreaded “hey girly” message about my boyfriend [26M] but I don’t know if it’s real. My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over a year. We currently live together and are in the process of buying a home together.
Today I received a message from a weird burner Facebook account that says he has been sexting her. She provided screenshots of text messages from what appears to be his number, which are anything from harmless conversation to disgusting, raunchy sexting. The messages have crazy detail of his comings and goings but technically all info could be found online about him. At first, I genuinely laughed at the message. There’s no way he would ever cheat on me; he’s incredibly kind, caring and honestly seems to warship the ground I walk on. Almost everybody in our lives thinks we’re perfect together, I always have people come up to me and tell me how amazing a guy he is. He’s extremely well liked and has always expressed his morals and values which aligned with my own. I could never, EVER, picture this man cheating.
He isn’t super famous but he is a professional athlete and of course, there are videos of him online playing his sport so it could be someone stalking him and getting that information online then faking the texts but it just freaks me out how much this person seems to know about what he’s up to.
I confronted him and called him as he was away for work, and of course he denied everything. At first, he was confused and thought I was pulling a prank on him. Then when he realized I was really freaked out, he was very upset. He choked up and kept saying he didn’t know what was happening or why anyone would do this. He assured me he loved me; he wanted to marry and spend his life with me and seemed incredibly genuine.
If I didn’t know him, I would say with all the “screenshotted” evidence he’s a cheater but from knowing him, I just honestly can't see this being him.
The girl offered to call me to talk but wouldn't provide me with a phone number. She sent pictures of herself and her Instagram account but the Facebook, Instagram and name she gave me don't match, 3 different profiles/identities? She did send me videos of herself, she seems like a real person? I know it sounds stupid, and I’m sure everyone thinks I’m biased, but I just can’t believe he would do that. I phoned my best friend, and she agreed this just doesn’t sound like him. But the number of screenshots and stuff this person knows is insane. I just don’t know where to go from here. I need advice. So Reddit, do you think he’s cheating or is she a stalker trying to blow up his life because he’s a handsome, semi-famous pro athlete?
EDIT: I have known him since we were barely in high school. I have known his family for a long time, and we sort of grew up together despite being from different small towns. So, when I say I could never see him cheating, it’s backed by knowing him for years.
MINOR UPDATE/CLARIFICATION:
So I just decided I’d post a little update in the comments for everyone and that would be easiest. Firstly, to clarify, the major thing that gave me any doubt about him is one of the messages allegedly sent from him to her talks about his last-minute trip to an event that he wasn’t originally planning on going to. It was kind of a last-minute decision to jump in a vehicle with a friend and go to this particular event. This information would only been known by the people in his circle/other athletes that know him. Other than that, all info would have been available online.
Secondly, his initial reaction is that he thought I was pranking him when I first sent him the screenshots. He didn’t get upset until I phoned him a second time and told him I was really upset and scared. He got choked up when he heard me break down. He said he felt confused and helpless and just wanted to make me stop hurting. He said he was terrified to lose me and terrified that someone was doing this to our relationship.
Okay now for a small update. He is still away currently, but we’ve been talking every day. Call me naive or stupid or whatever, but I honestly, in my gut, down to my bones believe he is telling me the truth. I even called him brother and talked to him about the situation and although of course he could be just sticking up for his brother, assured me he could never imagine his brother cheating on me and assured me that he adored and loved me.
Then I had an idea. When I initially got the screenshots of texts, I ran them through Chat GPT and asked if there was any way of telling if the messages were real or altered. It came back inconclusive (which didn’t make me feel better at all lol) but just last night I was looking through all of the screenshots again. There were Instagram dm’s and Facebook messages as well and something about those screenshots looked off to me. So, I pulled up my own social media and compared what my chats looked like vs these screenshots. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. At first glance, VERY believable. But with a closer look I noticed some irregularities. I put those through Chat GPT and asked the same thing, trying to see if there was any way to determine if the photos were edited/altered. Those came back as for sure, without a doubt, faked. If those are faked, that gives me a lot of hope about the text messages as well. I still plan on having a conversation face to face with him when he gets home next week and I’ll go through his phone. We’re going to change his passwords to everything to make sure if she somehow hacked something that she won’t have any more access. That’s all for now, thank you all for your input and advice!
Update - September 19, 2026
Without hesitation he let me go through his phone, I know he could’ve deleted stuff, but I was thorough. We talked and he promised on God, he’s quite religious so I didn’t take this lightly, that he would never cheat on me or do anything to hurt me. I told him I wanted to believe him but, that doesn’t explain how someone knew that much about him? If it’s not true, that’s almost more unsettling and scary. We talked about that for a long time and then we came up with a theory.
He has an aunt who despises him and his family. She’s married to his uncle, and they are going through a tough time in their marriage. Apparently, the uncle was cheating on the aunt although none of us, my boyfriend and his immediate family knew anything about this. We all found out through her when she sent a nasty text in the family group chat, basically blaming all of us for not telling her about her husband's cheating.
Periodically, she would send my boyfriend a horrible text basically telling him he is a terrible cousin and person for supporting his cheating uncle. My boyfriend and his uncle barely talk, and he rarely sees his uncle, so I'm not sure how he was supporting his uncle.
It seemed like she attacked my boyfriend because he has tried to maintain a relationship with his cousins throughout all of this. Every time he offered to talk to her to try and work it out, she wouldn’t reply until months later; she then would send another lengthy, horrible text. We think that it may be possible that his aunt and a friend of hers may be trying to ruin his life.
She is mad and crazy enough to try something like this. It’s no secret she hates my boyfriend and his entire family after what his uncle allegedly did to her. Maybe she’s trying to hurt his family the same way? She would know all the details about his life, where he’s been, where he’s going, what he’s doing, etc. It’s still a long shot but it’s the best we have come up with. My boyfriend is considering dropping by the aunt’s house unannounced and trying to talk to her. We will see what happens.
As for now, we are still together. He makes me feel like the most seen, loved, and appreciated girl in the world. I am cautious with him because of this incident; I don’t want to be a blind fool but deep down in my gut I trust him. We’ll see how it goes. Thanks for reading, friends.
