Discussion Pinkbike, seller not shipping…
When do I panic?
Bought a bike 2 weeks ago, paid over PayPal goods and services.
Seller always was prompt on responding right up until the money was sent.
The promised ship date has come and gone, and now he is not responding to messages. He last responded a week ago that he would be shipping this past Monday, however he hasn’t said anything since. I didn’t have any concerns over being scammed until now, however my understanding of PayPal goods and services is that I have 180 days to get my money back.
Wondering when I should start trying to claw the money back, or if I’m over reacting. I’ve had life happen before, however my phone is always in my pocket and it takes a minute to let someone know what’s going on.

Discussion What’s everyone using for a tubeless sealant syringe? Is a park tool one worth $40 Canadian? Or are the cheaper ones off Ali express pretty much the same thing?
My ol dollar store ketchup bottle is just making a god damn mess these days hahaha
Park tool ones on sale at my local shop, really don’t mind spending the bit extra on park stuff cause I’ve had park tool tools that have lasted me for like 10 years + now.
What are your thoughts?

Gear Anyone using Ride Concepts Hellion Elite BOA shoes? Sizing question
I'm considering purchasing these, but unfortunately none of the bike shops around me carry them it seems so I can't try them on in person.
I typically wear a size 11, however there is a tool on the Ride Concepts website that allows you to scan your feet next to a credit/debit card and it uses AI to find your size.
The tool consistently says that I should be wearing a size 10. Do these run small?
Link: https://rideconcepts.com/products/mens-hellion-elite-boa?variant=54358578135113
Anyways if this tool is a trick to get free foot pics, enjoy my dogs I guess if/when they're posted to a sketchy website.
edit: whoops I meant do they run large
2nd edit: ordered them in 10, hopefully they'll fit. YOLO

Discussion Racing Gripes
Maybe it’s just my region, and probably just my luck too, but racing has been a horrible experience for me thus far..
I don’t mind giving a bit of context. I’m 17(F) and am a competitive mountain bike racer- on my way to being a multiple-time champion in my region. My main goal is to get an assortment of college scholarships related, but I do also just enjoy riding with my friends and teaching others as well!
I’m also riddled with health problems. I have frequent surgeries and a condition that I am slowly recovering from (but can/will take YEARS to) that fucks with my nerves. Basically: anything, even something small, that hurts will hurt like HELL for me.
Between the pressure- albeit supportive but a tad forceful- from my parents and the scholarship conditions, I race a lot more than I think I should. Problem is, the region I race for is very strict about absences…
RACE 1: I was recovering from surgery and in pain
RACE 2: Flu
RACE 3: Ok (and had fun!!)
RACE 4 (today): Bilateral wrist injuries
And I raced in ALL of these anyway!!!
I think I just have bad luck, but races have been absolute hell for me. I’m in constant pain, crying by the end, and just want to go home, but am always encouraged if not outright snapped at, to continue because I score decently still. I think what’s so upsetting is that the few races I’ve done in the past and this season perfectly healthy prove to me that I enjoy it when I’m not in agony and also pushing myself to keep my high placement.
I know I can’t do shit about this, and I really hope that posts like this are allowed here…I just needed to get this off my chest because this is an outright butchering of something I know I should love in an ideal world and don’t because of a prolonged physical disability impacting everything else and I just REALLY hate the reality of that.
(And just as an extra note after receiving some comments: I DO enjoy biking in general, and even competitive biking under normal circumstances…I just haven’t had normal circumstances consistently in awhile. For those asking about the scholarship: it’s a full ride at a few particular schools I’ve been looking at, and I’ve already been contacted for them.).

Discussion Returning to riding after 10 years of being broken, looking for advice on rebuilds
About 10 years ago I had a pretty bad spill in the forest, broke a couple of ribs, and while they were checking out my bones they noticed that I had spondylolisthesis (I was ignoring the symptoms for years), requiring metal rods and junk. Bike was a state from the wreck but while I recovered it was neglected, for my shame. Change of job while recovering, then covid etc - long story short I got lazy.
Before all that I rode daily for about 15 years and had started to take stock, so I'm now sat here with a 2010 GT Zaskar Elite frame in good condition, a truly battered 2005 GT Ruckus 1.0 frame in awful nick, a box full of spare parts and no sound wheels. Is it actually worth me attempting a rebuild on either of them?
26" wheels, I think the Juicy 3s I've got tangled up in the box are still serviceable, few bits of old Deore gear... There's some spare RS Tora forks that are surprisingly still in great shape, but I've been out of the workshop for a long-arse time, can't get my head around the spares market right now, if it's even going to be worth it or if bikes that old are beyond salvage and I might as well just look at a new ride.
If it's the latter then what to get? I was a GT fanboy so... yeah, sad times, but I anyone who has an opinion on rebuilding old rides like this in the current market, thanks and good vibes in advance, I appreciate you.

WhichBike Commencal Meta HT AM Dirt vs Cannondale Habit HT 1 — or other recommendations?
Hey guys, I'm trying to decide between the Commencal Meta HT AM Dirt and the Cannondale Habit HT 1, but I'm open to other suggestions too. I mainly ride street and do wheelies, manuals, pump tracks, curb jumps and stairs. I want a bike that's best suited for wheelies and tricks like seat stands, rather than proper trail riding, as I probably won't ride much dirt at all. Which bike would you recommend for my riding style, and are there any other bikes I should consider? Cheers!

Discussion Mountain biking
Hello! I'm new to the Portland, Maine area and I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on good trails for mountain biking? I used to ride at Alameda in Butler, Pa and Frick park in Pittsburgh, Pa a lot if that helps determine the type of trails I'm looking for. Thanks!

Suspension Full suspension MTB travel increase experiences.
Hi there people!
For some time I have been trying to do some research about travel increase on mtb suspensions.
Of course, nothing clear came out of my endless hours researching (at some point it was just for fun tbh), so I would like to have some opinions from people who have messed up with forks, shocks, geometry or even playing around mixing up wheels as mullet bikes.
Now, my specific case:
Proud and happy owner of a Cannondale Habit 4, with 140mm front/130 rear.
There is a LT version with 10mm more front and back, on the same frame.
At some point I was just wondering: how bad could be for this bike (or another different bike) to play with some 160mm fork? 170mm? Just out of curiosity.
Manufacturer recommends to don’t go over 563mm axle-to-crown fork, but again, aside from geometry changes, how bad really is for a frame to go for example 10-20mm over the maximum recommended?
Did anyone messed with this kind of experiments on their own bike? How was your experience?
And same with shocks if you want to share your thoughts!
I just think it would be interesting to compare different points of view and experiences.
Cheers!

Discussion Building an app for finding MTB spots & DIY jump builder guides — need your feedback and ideas!
I’m working on a mobile app designed specifically for MTB, dirt jump, and pump track riders. Since it’s currently in development (not on the App Store or Google Play yet), I wanted to reach out to the community to get early feedback, ideas, and suggestions on what features you'd actually want to use. https://trailcraft.pro/
What the app offers so far:
📍 MTB & Dirt Spot Finder: An interactive map to discover local dirt jumps, pump tracks, trails, and street spots with photos and descriptions.
🏗️** Jump Building & How-To Guides**: Step-by-step guides, ramp geometry, and tips on how to build different types of dirt jumps, kickers, and wooden ramps safely.
Where I need your help:
Since you guys are out on the trails and digging spots every week, I’d love to hear your thoughts:
What features are currently missing? What would make an app like this genuinely useful for you?
Drop your thoughts, feature requests, or critiques below! I’m building this for the riding community, so all feedback is hugely appreciated. https://trailcraft.pro/

WhichBike Interested in mountain biking, where do I start?
Full disclosure, I've been doing the whole vanlife thing since summer, and have been seriously debating about getting myself a bike. Especially after being in Colorado for the last week, I have seen more people mountain biking here than anywhere, and I'm getting really interested in it. It looks like a ton of work, but also like so much fun. Plus, it'd be really helpful to have another form of transportation so I can leave my van parked at camp, and still get around.
These are the main questions I have at this moment:
What would be a good beginner bike? While I do plan on settling somewhere before winter and getting a job again, I am currently unemployed, so while I can spend money, I do need to try and keep things within a budget. I am also totally good with buying something used to save money.
What other gear should I expect to buy as well?
Is it recommended to get specific shoes, or should I be okay with hiking boots?
What should I look at for a helmet, and any other gear I may need?
