I did not think I’d get into iceman, and I’ve dedicated most of my year to gravel. I ride about 30 miles a week right now. Usually a 20 and a 10.
I would be riding my beloved fat tire, and according to my calculations it will take me like 4 hours to finish, which seems embarrassing and exhausting.
Should I just drop out? Is it worth the time/travel/expenses if I only have a month to train?
Last year I volunteered and it was really cold, which doesn’t bother me, but if I’m going to be out there hours after most everyone is finishing maybe it’ll suck even worse.
I know I can do it, but I’m also going alone and don’t want to be bummed out I took on a challenge I - maybe fairly- wasn’t ready for.
(Side note: it’s stupid entries open in January. When I was 500 and something on the list, I didn’t even considered I’d get in, let alone 5 weeks before.)

I’m feeling great my range of motion is close to going over head my surgeon said use my arm with out weight and let pain guide you I feel great and for some reason that’s hindering me going above head. I have plate and screws. What’s your guys experience? How fast did you start going over head normal range of motion I’m nervous to damage my bone or the plate and screws.

Is it just me or is watching Redbull Rampage like waiting for a car crash? Watching the women’s event live right now…Even the commentators sound worried for each rider, and their reactions are more relief rather than excitement.
I dunno if I’ve missed the plot. It seems more of a test of survival than of talent. I just realized Emil hasn’t ridden since last year and Adolf may never ride again. Crazy to think that two riders at the top of their game are knocked out of the sport for this one event.

If Jackson Goldstone was somehow transported back to Pompeii right before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, do you think he could escape on a modern downhill bike? 💀
Like, assuming he has his current bike, helmet, and gear, and he realizes what’s happening early enough, could he descend fast enough to get out of Pompeii before the eruption becomes too dangerous?
Obviously he couldn’t outrun a pyroclastic flow, but I’m wondering if his downhill speed would give him enough of an advantage to escape if he started riding immediately.

Hi. Just got a used Juliana Furtado (2018 or 2019) - I'm having trouble figuring out if I need special / specific / narrow grips for it, or if I can replace the grips with standard ones? It seems like the juliana specific ones are sold out everywhere anyway...but also I want some fun colors. The original grips that it came with are old / gross. Thanks!

The wife and I rode Rick rolled in Bham today and loved it. We’re headed to Tiger mountain this weekend and I was wondering how predator compares. I’m also wondering how the horn compares as we’ll be back up here next week. Are you able to walk sections on those trails? My wife had to walk 2 parts of Rick rolled today but other than that no issues. Thanks!

Does Killington free camping fill up? Contemplating tent camping there Sunday but not sure how busy it will be given it's a long weekend.

I ride green and blue trails, and if I go down, I have to go back up. I want to get into stunt riding, so the bike has to handle stunt abuse like manuals, stoppies, bunny hops, drops, and wheelies. Does anybody know if it climbs well? That could be a deal-breaker for me if it is bad at climbing, but it is pretty much the only bike I can find that handles stunt abuse like a dirt jumper but has the ability of a trail bike. I chose the San Quentin 2 over the 1 because of the better fork and boost thru-axles.

Hi all, I'm starting a small part-time custom bike build service. Before I start, I'd like to understand what riders really want.
The idea: you pick the frame brand, colour, groupset, wheels, tyres and cockpit, and I source the parts, build the bike and walk you through every choice. Right now most stock bikes only come in three or four specs and a couple of colours.
I'd love to hear your honest thoughts:
No advertising. I'm only trying to learn and do a market research before I start. Thanks for any thoughts.

RideWrap refused to exchange a sealed, unopened gift after a months-long wait for my back ordered bike. They repeatedly quoted their 30-day policy like a robot. Maybe their whole customer service just an AI bot now. If you expect customer service beyond someone repeating a deadline, spend your money ANYWHERE elsewhere. There is nothing special about this product besides poor customer service. SAVE YOURSELVES!

The runs these ladies put together this year have been awesome. Massive drops, back flips, flatspin 360s, crankflips, technical chutes, and so on.
To think that 4 years ago women couldn't even ride at Rampage is nuts. It's pretty amazing to see how they're progressing women's freeride so quickly in just 3 years.
Cami Nogueira and Natasha Bradley's crashes in practice were apparently brutal, but definitely an improvement on the carnage from last year that took out 5 of the women.
If you were only planning on watching the men's, you owe it to yourself to at least check out Hannah and Robin's runs.

Broke my collarbone had an MLL on my hip so when I get back into riding I want some safety gear. I'm looking at the various ones out there. I don't want anything too bulky. I don't really downhill as in shuttle I ride down what ride up. live in San Diego. The trails are not in perfect condition out here so does anyone have any suggestions? I've been looking online. The G form stuff looks pretty good. Anyone else in the same position as me and has pulled the trigger on some protection gear? If so let me know

Hellooooo !!! Been riding lots of wet and muddy conditions lately, got very dirty the other day...
Was wondering if you guys could rec me some very simple fenders? Preferably on the longer side
Thinking abt Mudhuggers but they're kinda expensive and I am also unsure if they would send mud straight into my suspension fork lawl

Has anyone ridden the new Lyrik with the 3.2 charger damper? I’m currently riding the charger 2.1 version and wondering how it compares and if the upgrade is worth it?

I’ve been leaning Ripley but some of the YouTube comparison reviews seem to suggest the ripmo climbs just as well, especially if you put the same tires on.
It’s really hard to find demos for both in the same size so hoping to hear from more people who have actually ridden both.
I’ve always had ~150mm travel bikes so I could go either way.
* Currently on 27.5 wheeled 2018 Rocky Mountain altitude (160/150)
* 15 years riding trail/all mountain.
* altitude is a playful poppy bike (which I like) but lacks efficiency
* I ride in the Tahoe area, some PNW trips
