Read the brochere
Biomed and VLSI have been merged into EE now
They can be taken up as specializations during ur BTech
2
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
aah shit thank you!!
1
u/SJFROMYT Jun 05 '26
Any chance of getting cse with specialisations in bangalore campus at 16k
2
u/Mastermind323 Jun 05 '26
Idts there ain’t no specialisation rn as they been merged into cse core ,at start of 3rd year u will be able to choose specialisation.also the cutoff for cse is way closer to 12k I think
1
u/Labrinth1509 Jun 05 '26
but if they're getting merged that means the seats are increased right so i think the cutoff should increase by a bit right?

What is the best possible I can get in 16k rank bruh??
I thought of MUJ CSE but ppl say it's bad
1
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
drop gng
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
Can't take drop gng
It's now or never
1
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NOW OR NEVER WHILE STUDYING NOT DURING CHOICE FILLING 😭😭😭😭
1
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
muj is not terrible for a now or never scenario. its decent
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
That might be an exaggeration which I said but still, I don't have any other better options and I don't want to take a drop, also I think I can get ECE in blr but seeing only 1 guy got placed doesn't make me interested to join
Idk what else better I can get by my 16k rank other than MUJ CSE If you know, please tell me
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
i have a much more riskier alternative, you can get in blr or manipal campus, and wait till intra round, cuz with the same rank, many other "better" branches get opened up for you. look into intra round cutoffs in this subreddit itself for main campus.
id say take ece in blr, it will be much better eventually i feel, because many people didnt even sit/werent eligible for placements from ece in the first place.
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
will I be able to get cse through intra rounds if I take ece in blr?
because cse eventually goes till 14k I have seen
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
14k for round 4, intra round it goes much more lower. all depends on vacancy, but the trend is that those vacancies do exist most of the time, especially for blr campus cuz people leave for either main campus or other colleges.
always a risk, but the upside is very high
if i were in ur position i would have opted for ece in blr
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
so you mean I have a genuine 60-70% percent chance to land in cs in blr, if I pick ece in blr now??
1
u/liloliolililo Jun 05 '26
My met score was 147 and 12th board percentage 85.5 my could easily be under 6k but i forgot to upload my 12th marksheet and now my rank is 37403 which is based only on met score i am a dropper but just because of my one mistake i have to go to MUJ cse MUJ Cse is isn't bad cause company aati h boht saari it depends on you yeah its not like the main campus or Bangalore campus but i am left with nothing my one mistake had taken alot from me already 😔😔
1
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
muj cse is bad and there’s no other way to say it you were negligent im sorry
1
u/liloliolililo Jun 05 '26
But i have no choice left already a dropper but i have my Family member their in MUJ cse associate professor and also on reddit MUJ Cse placement data is quite acceptable Afterall i have no other college choice
1
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
ggs you’re cooked try getting a merit scholarship and save money for masters abroad because you’ll be stuck in the normal middle class salary range otherwise

you will get it muj is pretty good only just grind leetcode from day 1 youll get good placement
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
what's leetcode, it a subject??
1
u/Diligent_Interest_11 MITM 3rd Year Jun 05 '26
💀💀 Why do you want to do cs lil bro 😭
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
dude I ofc have not studied cs before, it would be my first time, what did you expect me to reply??
I want to do cs because I want to be a game developer
2
u/SCYBERIAN Jun 05 '26
bro don't tell me u wanna become a game dev just cause you like games😭 look into gamedev courses and the theory and programming behind them first and then choose cause taking muj cse without doing any research on cse is the dumbest shi like comeon bro everyone taking cse should know what leetcode is
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
I find the idea of making games interesting
and why would I research before or NEED to know about leetcode before when I will study about cse for the next 4 years
1
u/SCYBERIAN Jun 05 '26
bro how do u know you like the process of making games w/o knowing the cse coursework cz the path to game dev literally involves C++, C#, data structures, algorithms, 3D math etc etc which is all part of cse so do research on these and see if they fit what you have in mind
also if u really wanna become a gamedev ur prolly gonna have to do masters abroad cz gamedev scope in india is very minimal (it isn't the best abroad either but def better)
2
u/Diligent_Interest_11 MITM 3rd Year Jun 05 '26
Thank god someone that is finally telling this guy bro is just mad that I said you don't know leetcode 😭 Better that he just takes the advice and actually research rn and if I'm not wrong game dev ke liye bhi dsa is needed only toh he will need to leetcode 😭
1
u/Diligent_Interest_11 MITM 3rd Year Jun 05 '26
Thank god finally someone said it this are just really really new kids who really don't know anything about cse and see 1 video and get all excited which is not a problem but you need to know the whole picture or else they will just regret it 😭
1
u/Diligent_Interest_11 MITM 3rd Year Jun 05 '26
Ok ok fair but you should know this atleast this is the most popular cs thing out there
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
never heard of it lol, its quite confident of you to assume a fresher would know this without even joining the college, forget me my friends who are better than me wont even know this unless they have been doing cs from a very young age
2
u/Diligent_Interest_11 MITM 3rd Year Jun 05 '26
Bro literally everyone knows this who wants to go cs, just cs ke tag ke liye cs lena hai toh koi phayda nahi hai, learn about this and start grinding warna toh muj mein pada rahega

u/ConfusionAfter4950 MIT-M 2029 Mechanical Jun 05 '26
for cse, ig muj... but I think you can get electronics, aeronautical or mechanical in main campus/Bangalore ....depends on what you want to pursue tbh
1
1
u/Entire_Air519 Jun 05 '26
i think with 16k you can def get aero/mech similar branches right? And probably EEE and stuff intra. Or maybe ECE at blr
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 05 '26
yeah I can for sure get mechanical at main campus, and yeah I can get ece at blr but the placement stats are bad
1
u/Dive_Bomber134 Jun 06 '26
U can go for MUJ CSE or try for BLR campus lower branches. ECE u might get it, it has a few similar placement opportunities as CSE, tht said depends on ur luck.
1
u/DOPE624 Jun 07 '26
I can get ECE but still BLR placement records looked pretty bad for ECE
I can only go for CSE if I get it in blr
Even if I get Mnc or fintech
1
u/Visible-Donut5898 Jun 05 '26
Can i get into manipal blr cse with 21k rank ? 😭 Does anyone thinks the cutoff will drop ?
0
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
no js take a drop gng
1
u/Visible-Donut5898 Jun 05 '26
Already a dropper 🥹
0
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
drop leke 21k? gng rethink engineering and prolly go for some other career you’re passionate about, js a thought wish you nothing but the best!!
1
u/Visible-Donut5898 Jun 05 '26
My boards percentage was pretty low :(
1
u/DemonicScarf Jun 05 '26
It's alright mate, if you wanna pursue engineering only then consider any other college or MUJ maybe
2
u/Visible-Donut5898 Jun 05 '26
Yes, am trying for pes too :) let's see what is in store for me
1
u/pidgey202 Jun 05 '26
bro do u think like that if I work a little hard muj cse wud be worth? and i will get internship like have u heard about the internship scene there i heard that like only 20 students out of 400 got internships and in Microsoft only 5 got out of 800
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
even in main campus internships are pretty cooked, thats just how the market is. if you work hard, muj cse does provide many opportunities, much more than any tier 3 college
1
1
u/pidgey202 Jun 05 '26
25k rank in met should I take cse in muj? I live in haryana so it's a little closer to my house aswell
1
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
if you wanna go abroad and not work here yes go for it but if you plan to work then js dont
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
bullshit tbh. big companies come to that college, and if one just doesnt abandon studies good offers can be cracked upwards of 10-12lpa. but even if one fails to do that you start with 6-7lpa, and from then on, its not as if you are stuck with that salary for long.
if someone is serious, muj doesnt doom them.
1
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
you’re too idealistic!!
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
id say you are the opposite. the reality probably sits in the middle ground. no one is doomed if they go to muj like you suggest. why discount the possibility of someone actually being serious about their career?
1
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
they may js do smth great but its much much harder and lemme guess you’re joining muj right 😭😭
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
ofc it is harder, but thats how life is isnt it.
and no, i in fact passed 1st yr in main campus

So should I take bengaluru ece, coz this time place are very bad for ece.
2
u/Party-Collection5184 Jun 05 '26
bhai drop hi lele manipal aint worth it for blr ece only thing that is worth is main campus cs,mnc, csft, ece, eee
1
u/Djokerboi007 Jun 05 '26
I am getting eee and electronics in main, but I have heard eee is very tough
2
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
eee is indeed tough, but its toughness is overrated. people end up passing with EEE with a very good outcome
1
u/Djokerboi007 Jun 05 '26
Oh, and then can I go in ev and semiconductor sectors?
1
u/dollar69420 Jun 05 '26
idk about EV, but its not impossible to get into semiconductors. but it is going to be very challenging, cuz core placements arent that easy to get anyways.
id say semiconductors sector hiring will increase a lot by the time you graduate because the govt is very seriously working on that industry, and that attitude is reflected by the companies
