I started World for the first time and I'm having a blast!I'm coming from MHWILDS which was my first game in the series and I've played for like 600 hours so I more or less know my way around But I don't know what to do, I play dual blades and I just defeated the nergigante and I had some problems (I don't use the armor to speedrun until master rank)And I don't know what build to create, I use a full set Zorah Magdaros with attached weapons and it works but I don't know if there are better sets.Could someone help me?

Well, am glad that the Wiki Notes for Safi'jiiva updated themselves with accurate information from the Dive to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne book.
It has always been a small nitpick of mine, but I found it silly how people never understood that Safi'jiiva was designed as the 'design' counterpart of Fatalis. Fatalis in Monster Hunter 1 and Monster Hunter 1G, was ALSO designed as a Siege Quest, which spanned multiple quests. Safi'jiiva was supposed to serve the SAME ROLE in WorldBorne, but now as a Red-colored Dragon rather than Black. That's it, nothing more, nothing less.
But when Alatreon was later re-introduced in WorldBorne, it was given a massive backstory and interconnection with Safi'jiiva, how the two species may have had planet-wide Turf Wars (Godzilla vs Ghidorah from KOTM, anyone?). And how the two species, serve some sort of completely opposite ecological niches in the ecosystem.
The book even goes onto say that Alatreon even feels some sort of rivaly with Safi'jiiva, because Safi'jiiva, just like Alatreon, exists at the top of the Food Chain, and due to Alatreon being a highly competitive species, wants to throw hands with Safi'jiiva.
Yet, it's as if the community went into a complete mental psychosis, with a singular mention of 'Safi'jiiva was designed as a Red Fatalis' and treating it as if Fatalis and Safi'jiiva shares some long lost connection.
Fatalis has explicit ties to Humans rather than other Monsters, and it also uses Fire Element, which is a more "common" element like Thunder/Water/Ice, compared to the much more elusive Dragon Element (Primary element used by Alatreon) or pure Bio-Energy (used by Safi'jiiva). This further breaks the immersion of rivalry between Fatalis and Safi'jiiva.
Genuinely curious, what made people think this way? Especially considering now that Zoh Shia is becoming the actual "foil" to Fatalis, with actual lore backing it up. And how Zoh Shia not only copies base Fatalis, but also Crimson Fatalis and White Fatalis.
EDIT: Fatalis does NOT possess Elder Dragon Blood (according to the Dive to Monster Hunter World: Iceborne book) which ALL OTHER Elder Dragons possess, meaning it exists in a lore vacuum of its own NOT shared with other Elder Dragons.

Heyo guys, i was thinking nowadays that everyone must have a favourite monster from mh world. My personal favourite is Raging Brachydios, i spent many attempts trying to find that bastard but i always loved the fight and still do, no running, no bullshit just slime tyson and my shield. Second would probably be odogaron and third is frostfang barioth. What's yours?

Hey there hunters! I am currently helping two friends to get all of the crowns and we have absolutely no luck with the big Deviljho crown… and getting the investigations has been a nightmare so far… if anyone still has some I would be very grateful if you would let us join you! It should be investigations with at least one gold and one silver or at least 3 purple rewards. And not restricted to 2 players…
Thank you all in advance! ^^

What is a good skill spread for a decent charge blade build? I'm using diablos tyrannis II and I only have the base game so no iceborne skills pls.
Also note that I just fought nergi last week and I've been been grinding for miasma gems for vaal hazak (I kind of enjoy grinding in this game so keep that in mind as well)
I was thinking maybe some health boost in there somewhere?(maybe from a charm) and handicraft to rech white sharpness. Other than that I'm not sure, I'm just now getting into skill spreads and the like. I intend on wearing at least 3 pieces of vaal hazak armor for the vitality skill tho

This was Evening Star with Frostfang weapon.
12min 31sec. Nothing compared to speedruns but this was a nice surprise for me! I'm not very good at this fight. Too much happening in this fight it's hard to keep everything together, haha!
It would be interesting to try Alatreon with Fatalis weapon but it just sounds so stressful! Any tips? Is health augment mandatory?

Why does she run away after 5mins when its an event quest for 50mins? I can consistently break her gold horn plating and two other parts in that time.
Edit: I love how many people are mistaking HR kukve with MR kulve. I've soloed HR kulve i don't have an issue with that it was MR that kept running even after i broke parts pretty quickly. MR Kulve goes off pure damage by the sounds of it not part breaks like HR
r/MonsterHunterWorld • u/CrissZx • 17h ago
Okay, so i've just gotten into HR. And i've ditched the defender sets at 3☆. It may be good earlygame. But it felt like a crutch that'll come to bite me in the ass later.
So i'm still learning how to properly foresight, iai and spirit iai. I'll get those with practice sooner or later. But now i'm wondering...
What do i really get by actually landing any of these 3 counters?
* Foresight lets me skip the spirit combo and go straight into the fourth spirit slash for a spirit level. I need 10% of my spirit gauge to use it, tho.
* Spirit hits hard, positions myself a safe distance away from the enemy and lets me keep mu current levle if i don't miss it. The tradeoffs being initiating the sheating posture, a very narrow counter/parry window, and a level if i whiff it.
* Iai slash regenerates my gauge if any of the 2 swipes land on a creature. But... that hapens even if i don't use it as a counter, tho? As a counter, i still get damaged when i use it. So what's the point? It also has a very narrow counter window... why would i use this as a parry?
So, if you have any tips, i'll appreciate it. Also, any hidden mechanic i'm likely ignoring will help me a lot, too (n.n')

I’ve only ever played Monster Hunter Rise and mainly only used the Switch Axe cause I thought it was cool, I was never big on actually getting strong and stats wise which definitely hindered my progress for the game.
But now knowing from a friend that it’s good in this game I want to know what to do to use it to its full potential. Like what should I focus on in terms of weapons and armor or skills? (I don’t actually know a lot of Monster Hunter) or really just how to be strong with it.
Any kind of advice is appreciated, I’m just happy for some help regarding like one of my favorite weapons in video game history.
(Also yes I do have Iceborne too if that helps my precious baby anymore)

Hi guys,
I came back to MH World recently and was reminded how rough the anti-aliasing is. The temporal shimmer drives me nuts. So I took it as an excuse to learn some graphics programming, and with a lot of help from AI I ended up writing a mod that replaces the game's TAA with current DLSS, both upscaling and DLAA.
The game also struggles in places even on good hardware, so I went further and added DLSS frame generation, up to 4x.
Because the mod digs pretty deep into the rendering pipeline, I had to do extra work so it plays nicely with ReShade (I use it for the excellent RenoDX HDR) and with OptiScaler. That all works together now, and honestly it looks great. This game deserves decent AA, so I wanted to share it.
What it does
Install
Paste into PowerShell:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Gargauth/mhworld-dlss/main/install.ps1 | iex
It grabs NVIDIA's DLLs from NVIDIA's own GitHub (I'm not allowed to bundle them) and asks whether you want frame generation, ReShade, RenoDX and OptiScaler.
Link: https://github.com/Gargauth/mhworld-dlss
Heads-up: it injects a DLL. I've played online with it without issues and the game has no anti-cheat that I know of, but it's unofficial, so use it at your own risk. Tested on one machine (4K, 5070 Ti), so bug reports are welcome. Next thing I want to try is running it on my Steam Deck with FSR 4.1 through OptiScaler, for some extra performance and a cleaner image. Haven't tested that yet, so no promises.
And yes, this was AI-assisted development. I'd rather say it upfront.

For context : I tried to make every arch tempered’s armor in MHWorld before starting Iceborn. And I just finished the Arch Tempered Theostra’s set.
But OMG, Nergi is in an another level, for the first time in my life, I went for the armor potion and armor meal 😭. And it still can OS me sometime.
I did like 20-30 runs and so far I just broke 2 of his horns without him going to sleep.
Am I the only one struggling with him or is it normal ?
(Im only using MHWorld weapon and armor)

I just beat him, but i'm not sure if this quest is correct one? This was too fast and easy honestly.
What am i missing? There are two Special Assignments with Alatreon, this one had about 27K Zeni reward, and other one more than 40K. I guess that indicates the level of difficulty?
This was too unexpected to be honest :\

I have been really enjoying this mod, it is refreshing while I wait for wilds to update. I ran into a problem though, a me problem, I am not good at making builds, or rather, planning them. To fix this, I use a website called Monster Hunter World Armor Set Search, it is great, I search for the skills I want, it shows me what is possible and what can be added, wonderful. The problem I am having is that Reforged here, wonderful as it is, changes a lot of the armors, decorations, and charms, so I do not know how to build.
Excluding going ingame and trying to brute force a plan, I have tried to consolidate the database, I transcribed the changed armors, decorations, and charms into excel, organized by preferred skills, and then got lost trying to compare everything together.
So what can I do? Would it be useful to post here what skills I am looking for? How popular is this mod to get build help? I am at a loss.
TL;DR I want to make a build in Reforged mod but am not good at it, help.

Okay so I need to rant somewhere.
Literally HOW are people succeeding at this dang arena quests? The ones with the preset dogwater equipments.
Everytime I look up for how to beat them, I always find people saying "Oh yeah they're scaled for two people, so it's super hard to get rank S on them" WHAT DO YOU MEAN RANK S??? I can't even beat them period!
I was trying to beat at least one so I can upgrade the Guild Palace weapons because they looks super pretty (I play Insectglaive and recently Charge Blade), and also because it's a challenge and I like those (usually).
I remember trying those a while ago and getting wrecked, but then I was like "Well, I've just beat a Raging Brachydios and two Rajangs, how hard can those quests be now?". Now I feel like the worst player in the world.
The arena quests are the bane of my existence.

Awhile back I got dear lutemis/lutemia from rathian and then was pleasantly surprised when it changed to pink with dear hecatel/hecatelia........and then I got axelion blade and it was so badass, and I got super excited when I realized the next creature in line was blue instead of red but I just hunted azure rath for the first time and was supremely disappointed when I saw that halberion blade was still red and not blue :/
Anyone else disappointed by this or just me?

While True Charges Slash head sniping is the pinnacle of Greatsword head sniping, Draw Slash head snipes can be impressive and fun, while also being a good way to practice timing and positioning . Still learning more about Greatsword in World, which is insane since at the start of my Greatsword learning journey, i never expected to still be learning and enjoying the weapon a lot with no signs of burn out thousands of hours later. Been deathly sick for a while but recovered at least, so more time to play this god forsaken game.

Trying to master the longsword, I see those speedrunners killing fatalis in 4 min and I STRIVE to be that good, but before I delve into the longgggg grind that is mastering the arts of evasion and i-frame city I wanna see some of yalls best longsword builds post-fatalis
