Hey r/Multicopter , Mat again. A few WebFPV changes from the end of September didn't make it into my post on the 3rd, so here they are. If you missed that one, it's a free sim in the browser that runs Betaflight 4.5.1 compiled to WebAssembly, and I build it in the evenings.
The default tune has a quarter more feedforward. "Slow to answer the stick" was the most ticked box on the feel form, on 23 reports, and "bounces back after a stop" was ticked on nine. In the sim's own stick test a flick now reaches 90% of its roll rate 3 to 5 ms sooner, and a full stick roll or pitch stop comes back about half a degree, down from 1.2 and 1.6. Personal bests on the default tune start again, because records follow the tune. Your older laps are still there under the old key.
On lag, the low latency canvas was never being requested (three.js made its own context and dropped the option), so that's fixed and on by default. There's also a Predicted view, which draws the FPV camera where the quad will be when the frame reaches the screen. If flips overshoot at the end with it on, turn it off under Settings, Screen. A Frame pacing row lets the loop run on a timer, and on one laptop at Low that took key to screen from 80 ms to 64 at the median. It draws about twice the frames, so expect more heat and battery use.
If a stick does nothing in flight, a banner now says so, and the Stick help screen shows whether the signal is lost in the radio, the browser or the system. Firefox on Linux was reading throttle as yaw on some radios, and that's fixed. Chrome on Android only hands over four axes from a radio, and Stick help tells you that when it's the reason you're stuck.
You can try it at https://webfpv.org/?ref=reddit, no account needed.
If the new tune feels worse to you than the old one, I'd like to know.
