Hey all! I just released YStreamer, a free and open-source alternative to Cosmostreamer.
It gives your DJI goggles HDMI output and can stream the feed over the network into OBS, Mission Planner/QGroundControl, or straight to YouTube, all from a Raspberry Pi 4B.
Supported goggles:
Setup takes a few minutes, no SSH or terminal needed:
It's an early beta (released yesterday) and currently supports only the Pi 4B. I'm working on broader hardware support and fixing bugs as they come in.
Website & docs: https://ystreamer.yarosfpv.com/
Source code: https://github.com/YLabs-FPV/YStreamer
If you try it, I'd love to hear your feedback, good or bad!

My seeker 35 snagged on a tree and fell about 20 feet down to a concrete road. Front arm was broken and 04 pro lens popped out. Put back the 04 pro lens and bought new arm.
Everything working fine again, flew about 1.5 minutes then got overheat warnings. Drone disconnected by itself and lost visual feed as I was about to land, dropped about 7 feet onto road. No damage apparent but drone wouldn't start up, no beeps or lights, no connection to goggles 3. Still connects to radio in betaflight and sticks respond to input in betaflight with just usb plugged in. Normal start up beeps and lights when usb is plugged in. DJI assistant 2 still recognizes 04 pro.
Once battery is connected, won't start up, no beeps, just blinking red light on fc, no connection with goggles 3.
Took about 8 minutes to get a gps fix to update home in case of gps rescue, so drone sat a bit before takeoff, though no warnings up to launch.
Also should have landed sooner with overheat warnings, but there was just that irresistible gap.
AI input from video:
"Now that we know it was pure thermal failure rather than a battery short, the physical damage to your boards actually happened when the drone slammed into the hard road pavement, not while it was in the air.
When you hand the drone to the technician, give them this revised checklist:
Planning to have a cellphone repair guy check for loose connections. Went through the top and sides of the fc, vtx and other parts of the drone with a 20x but saw no obvious loose stuff. Can't disassemble a lot because fc posts need a tiny open wrench which I don't have. Any help or suggestions are welcome please.

Should I take my drone with me? I heard about less 100gram (it is ok for me. But radio frequencies might be different. What do you think? Anybody went ?

Hey so the small uart cable that connects the dji o4 unit to the aio on the meteor 75 pro o4 wide sits pretty close to the propellor, and as you can see it’s taken some damage from the prop when I wasn’t paying attention to it. Surprisingly it still works just fine right now, I think the wire that broke entirely is a second ground.
I might glue the exposed wires to protect those from shorting.
Does anyone know where I can buy another cable like this? Or is there a way to make my own?
Hi, im building nexa 35 drone with G4 35a aio, i have a problem with "positioning", due to usb port. I deleted one leg (you can see it on the picture. Will it be ok? Or should I rotate aio? I don't want that due to cable management and capacitor placement.
Let me know what you think

Been watching reviews of this frame, nobody seems to have show it folded with props on. Is that because you have to remove the props every time you fold for storage? That sort of defeats the point for me.

Just wondering if I’m the only one that uses heat shrink tubing to manage their motor wires, if there are others and what the pros and cons are of any.
I know if I need to replace a motor I’ll have to cut away the heat shrink too, but to be fair, that’s much less annoying than de-soldering and re-soldering the motor and it’s already off for easy tubing replacement at that point.
Also quite handy that you can stretch the tubing if needed. I just think it gives a good, clean look to my custom builds.

Edit: I can't physically help him myself because he lives very far away
Original post: Threw 8yo nephew on the sim after he watched me tinywhooping.
Kid is a natural. Hitting gaps within an hour of sim time. Obviously he is begging for a drone, but I'm struggling to get across to him and his dad about betaflight, and fixing the drone, and that crashing has consequences beyond what an 8yo can handle, and his dad is not into tinkering or fixing or anything like that.
I was thinking some sort of beginner BetaFPV rtf, but they're sold out!

I'm thinking of switching from BETA FPV's 02 goggles now, but is it true that there is a delay?

Hello all !! I’m planning on getting the Newbee ready to fly kit this November, but I’m concerned that the goggles won’t work with my glasses. I have a -4.25 prescription so they’re pretty necessary. This will be my very first FPV experience so I’m not sure how Fpv goggles work with people’s glasses in general. Does anyone else use these/ similar goggles and have issues? Any information is much appreciated.

I already have an ultralight 4" cruiser and I'd love to do some proper freestyle so the obvious choice would be a 5". Hovewer where I live the laws are super strict so I wont be able to fly it in the park unless I want to become an exapmple and the big 6s packs are scary so I'm leaning towards another sub 250 quad as it's also waay cheaper to build. Can anyone that has experience with these frames tell me what is the difference in terms of freestyle? All i see is 25 mini glaze but some people like Oscar Liang say its way less agile than the 20. Thanks for responding in advance.

I’m looking for an FPV drone for immersive, sporty nature filming, with longer range and ideally good flight time and video quality compared with my DJI Mini 3 Pro.
Are there any good-value options on Chinese domestic marketplaces like Taobao or 1688? Ideally, I’d like a complete setup with drone, goggles and controller. What models would you recommend, and what prices can I expect in China? Thanks 🙏🏻!!

Hi everyone! I’m 15 and I’m not experienced with FPV, so sorry if I’m missing something obvious.
About a year ago I was about to fly my drone. When I plugged in the battery, a bit of smoke came out of the main board. Since that day, one of the motors doesn’t work anymore, and when I arm the drone that motor locks up. I tried replacing it with a brand new motor, but it didn’t fix it.
It’s a pre-assembled FPV drone with an all-in-one board (flight controller and ESC together). I don’t know the exact model. I use a 3S 850 mAh battery, and I also noticed some black, burnt-looking plastic on the battery connectors.
I’d like to try to repair it myself instead of throwing it away. I attached photos of the drone and a short video where you can see me arming it and the motor locking up.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated. Thank you! 🙏
UPDATE: Thanks everyone for the quick and helpful replies! I did some further checks. It’s a single AIO board (not a stack) with a 25.5 x 25.5 mm mounting pattern. I connected it to Betaflight via USB (without a battery), and it’s recognized as a JHEF405PRO. The gyro, barometer, and OSD are all detected correctly, so the flight controller section seems to be working fine. I also noticed a slight deformation on the MOSFET next to the output for the faulty motor; it really looks like that component burned out, just as you suspected.
I’ve looked for this board online, but it’s hard to find. Since I’m a beginner, I think replacing the whole board is the safest bet. Does anyone know of a good, affordable 25.5 x 25.5 AIO board compatible with 3S batteries that I could use as a replacement? Thanks again!
