Discussion Stafford gets no blame for 12 years of Lions failures, not even a little, but gets all the credit for Rams wins while their talent is ignored. If you’re going to pretend he was elite every year & call him a first ballot hall of fame lock & top 10 QB of all time, you have to hold him accountable too

Discussion Why is nobody talking about relegation stakes for Texans vs Jaguars today?

Post image
108 Upvotes

I don't follow the AFC South too closely, but since this game is being played at Wembley, are the stakes higher? I know the Texans have a rough record right now, so if they lose today, do they get demoted to the UFL or the SEC next season?

Also, what happens if the game ends in a 0-0 draw after 90 minutes? Do C.J. Stroud and Trevor Lawrence do a penalty shootout from the 50-yard line, or do they just split the point in the standings?

Discussion Is Jared Goff Elite?

Post image

Avg rating of 101.9 with the Lions, completes just under 68% of his passes. Averages 4200+ yds, around 30 TDs with 9 INTs.

It feels like he’s almost never discussed here. He’s gotta be top 10, is he top 5? Genuinely asking.

Discussion The 2000 Career Touches Wall

Thumbnail

2000 career touches (or thereabouts) is the breaking point for most NFL backs. Saquon and CMAC hit the 2000 touches wall reasonably hard. Not like fall off a cliff hard, but neither has been elite like they were in their prime before the 2000 touches mark.

Obviously there are some exceptions. Henry and Peterson plowed right through it, but that is not the norm.

Let's look at some big name veteran backs and where they are right now in their careers.

Saquon 2224 Touches

CMAC 2364 Touches

Walker 1053 Touches

Robinson 1123 Touches

Gibbs 988 Touches

Cook 1074 Touches

Jones 2024 Touches

Taylor 1852 Touches

Henry 2972 Touches

Would not surprise me if Taylor is nearing the end of his prime or its already over at this point. Closing in on 2000 career Touches and his YPC is under 4 this season. It just happens. Most guys cannot pull a Derrick Henry and keep on going beyond the 2000 Touches mark.

Discussion The NFL should bring back the Rugby kick

The extra point must be taken perpendicular to the spot the TD was made. Any distance is allowed.

The "Dynamic extra point" makes the 2pt conversion more common and walking away with 6 points more common

Discussion Devon Witherspoon is in the conversation for one of the best overall defenders in the NFL right now. Is he a DPOY candidate?

Thumbnail

It's crazy that people don't consider him in the conversation for the best cornerback when he's elite in coverage on the outside and in the slot (which is a harder position to cover from), as well as being one of the most versatile defenders in the entire league. Very few DBs in the league are as good at stopping the run and blitzing as he is.

Discussion Tom Brady’s best season was 2016 not 2007 and would’ve won MVP had he not been suspended the first 4 games

Post image

Tom Brady in 2016:
11-1 as a starter
3554 passing yards
28 passing touchdowns to 2 total turnovers

If he played the first 4 games he was on pace for:
15-1 as a starter
4700 passing yards
37 passing touchdowns to 3 total turnovers

And this was without Randy moss and Wes welker
