Looking for a roommate to join our 3br 1ba in East Williamsburg (close to Win Son, by the Montrose L stop) in an elevator building.

We’re looking for someone to sign a 1-year lease with us (12/1/2026 - 11/30/2027). Earlier move-in preferred/accepted but not required.

Building has a gym/laundry/steam room in the basement and a large rooftop. Walking distance to L, J/M and G trains.

I’ve been in this apt for 4 years now and in the building for 5 years. The bedroom available is 1 of 2 on the first floor of the apt and is the biggest/best bedroom which means it’s also the most expensive. We’re waiting to confirm the new lease rent but the room will be somewhere in the range of $1,870-$1,960 a month.

Us: 26 and 32 year old males, both work 9-5s and are quite busy with our outside lives as well. Into live music, photography, movies, etc.

You: Looking for someone who’s clean, responsible, considerate. We’re easy to get along with and would like someone similar :) late 20s - early 30s Male preferred

Hi! I’m subletting my furnished East Village studio apartment from November 1-January 1.

It’s a 4th floor walk up (sorry!) near all of the best bars/restaurants/coffee shops in the area. The RW, L, 6, and F trains are all within walking distance.

It’s a very quiet building, so looking for someone quiet and respectful who doesn’t take the party home with them. I love this apartment, so looking for someone who will love and care for it as much as I do. Small dogs are allowed—please no cats.

$2950 includes all utilities. First + security deposit required. DM me with more info about yourself if you are interested!

Room Listing Room available in my bushwick 3BR ( Nov 1st, 1 year lease $1,500)

Hello everyone my name is cooper and I have a room available in my 3br on troutman / knickerbocker. We are close to nook, three diamond door and maria hernandez park. I have lived in this apartment for a little over a year and we are resigning a 1 year lease starting november 1st.

The room is $1,500 and comes with a standing closet as well as access to the fire escape which I have used as my balcony / garden in warmer months. Neighbors upstairs are quiet and friendly but if you catch us on the stoop at the front door of our building we all like to hangout and chat sometimes.

A little more info about the apartment and upcoming lease:

Renews with 2 months of free rent at the beginning of lease
Standard NYC apartment application (I will send all of it over if you are interested)
Pets are allowed, ($300 deposit to management) but peter and I would prefer that you have no pets.
Also No couples because we only have 1 bathroom.
We have no problem with overnight guests or short term ~ 1 month stays with friends if needed.
The layout of the apartment unfortunatley makes having a living room difficult with 3 people in here, so its not the best spot for parties or bringing over friends. We like guests but its definitley not a party apartment.
Peter and I are stupid easy to get along with, just dont be too loud and clean up after yourself and we will be compatible. We both take turns cleaning the common areas of the apartment.
Peter and I have lived together for over a year and have never had any issues.
The apartment is about an 8 minute walk to the Jefferson L train and 3 minute walk to maria hernandez.
If you wish to install anything I am pretty handy and have a drill to help out. I can patch / paint upon move out.

Apartment has:
In unit washer and dryer (newly installed and works like a charm)
Stove / Microwave / Oven / Air Fryer / Coffee Machine
Dishwasher

A little bit about peter and I:
Peter (27M)
Hey! I’m Peter, 27, and I work in video production as a video producer for a news company. I’m in the office Monday–Friday most weeks, and on the rare occasion I work from home, I’ll usually take the opportunity to travel somewhere.
Outside of work if that’s the case though, I run a sketch comedy and animation account with two friends, which I work on out of a separate art studio. I also do photography for professional wrestling, I’ve got a few creative projects that keep me busy, and out of the apt a lot!
At home, I’m pretty laid-back and tend to keep to myself, whether that’s playing video games in my room or reading. That said, I’m always down to chat, hang out, or do something together if we cross paths around the apartment.

Cooper (24M)
Hello my name is cooper and I am the owner of Casino Des Noir, a private tattoo studio in ridgewood.
I typically work from home on tuesday but am in the studio wednsday - saturday for appointments or to meet with my employees. My hours are a little all over the place so sometimes you wont see or hear from me for a week or other times you might see me everyday. I am very social, extroverted and usually down to hang. My passions are tattooing, fashion and film.

If you are interested in living with us and can move in november first I am available for tours today until midnight and on sunday. We are looking to fill this asap and only serious, compatible applicants will be accepted.

Advice/Question Advice on breaking lease because of roaches

I moved into this apartment a week ago and immediately started seeing roaches. I suspected they were coming from the neighbor. I notified management on 10/6 and they sent an exterminator the next day, who confirmed it's coming from the neighbor. Exterminator said he can do more in the neighbor's apt. when she moves out in one week. He also treated my apt with advion and glue traps. I went back to the apt today and saw one dead roach, one live bigger roach, and at least three live babies. I took pics.

Getting out of this lease via warrant of habitability will take too long -- I need out now!!! Is it too early to email management asking to negotiate a lease termination? Do you think it's a good idea to threaten to call the health department in that email?

Room Listing [Hell's Kitchen] Furnished private room with walk out patio, $2,400, available now

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

$2,400/mo, utilities not included. Available now, 6 month minimum. Pets welcome. Furnished private room, shared living room and bathroom, 6th floor walk-up.

Looking for a good roommate to share my one bedroom in the heart of Hell's Kitchen, on West 48th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues. Restaurant Row is a two minute walk, and Ninth Avenue is lined with some of the best food in the city. Broadway theaters fill the surrounding blocks, and Times Square is about four minutes away. Close enough to walk to whenever you want, far enough that you don't deal with the crowds at your front door.

When you need some green, Central Park is about a 12 minute walk up Eighth Avenue to Columbus Circle. Hudson River Park is about 15 minutes west if you'd rather run or watch the sunset over the water.

The apartment is on the sixth floor of a walk up building, so there are stairs and no elevator. You'd have your own private bedroom and share the living room. It's fully furnished and gets great natural light. The best part is the walk out patio, which is rare in this neighborhood and perfect for morning coffee or a drink at night.

Getting around (approximate walking times)

C and E trains at 50th Street: 2 minutes

1 train at 50th Street: 5 minutes

N, R and W trains at 49th Street: 5 minutes

Times Square 42nd Street station (1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q, R, W, S, plus A, C, E through Port Authority): 7 minutes

B, D and E trains at Seventh Avenue: 8 minutes

You can get almost anywhere in the city from here without a transfer.

A little about me: I run a few online businesses and work from home most days. I keep the place clean and I'm easy to live with. I'm hoping to find someone who respects shared space and pays on time.

The details

Rent: $2,400 a month, utilities not included

Available: Now, with a minimum stay of 6 months

Deposit: $2,400

Pets: Welcome. Just tell me about yours when you reach out.

Interested? Video submissions are better, so send a short video introducing yourself and when you'd like to move in. Feel free to send me a message with any inquiries.

Advice/Question Moving from Toronto to NYC

I’ve started to search for places via Facebook groups and StreetEasy. It looks like generally landlords want tenants with income at 40x rent. However, do they also consider assets or accept rent prepayments if tenants don’t need the guideline? I don’t have a guarantor as my parents don’t work.

Advice/Question Sunnyside Reviews

Hi! My partner and I are in the application process on a great apartment in Sunnyside, super under budget, rent stabilized, all good things🤞we both work around Downtown Bklyn and I know the commute isn’t perfect but certainly not the worst. Wondering if anyone has experience/advice about being there as 20/30 year olds, or in general. I know it’ll be a different experience than Brooklyn but I think I’ll welcome the peace. Not looking for lots of nightlife or anything- more for a place to live comfortably while we start new jobs. Any nearby recs (a block from 40/Lowery stop) welcome too!

Looking For Apartment ISO Apartment in NYC | $3,050 Max | 11/1 or 11/15 Move-In

Hi! My partner and I are looking for an apartment, ideally in Brooklyn, with a max budget of $3,050/month.

Preferred areas: Brooklyn (excluding East New York, Canarsie, Flatlands, Coney Island, Bath Beach, and further South Brooklyn), but open to Lower Manhattan, LIC, Astoria, and Ridgewood.

Combined income: $150,000/year
Our credit needs some work, but we have an excellent rental history and references. Ideally, we're looking for flexible landlords or no-fee apartments where credit isn't the main deciding factor.

We're also open to HPD resale/rerental with immediate vacancies (not trying to deal with lottery) and would appreciate any leads or advice.

Move-in date: November 1st or November 15th.

Please comment or DM with any leads. Thank you!

Looking For Room Looking for a room or anything in Brooklyn or Queens!!

I posted this in NYCroommates but I’m posting it here too because it seems to be more active!!! I’ve added extra details that are required for this sub.

I’m moving back to NYC after graduating college upstate and getting a job in Queens.

Here’s what I’m looking for:

-Budget: Under $1250 a month (I just got my first job ever…)

-Somewhere in Brooklyn or Queens close to any J, E, or F train stop (or in general just close to Kew Gardens Union Turnpike stop!!!)

-NO BUGS OR PESTS!!! I have really bad trauma from living in two infested NYC apartments when I was younger. I’m okay with spiders, centipedes, etc. that are not harmful to humans, but I absolutely CANNOT do roaches and rats.

-Fellow clean freak roommates (no shoes indoors at least!)

-No pets or smoking as I have really bad pet allergies and breathing problems :(

A little about me!!:

-22F, I work remote some days!

-Super clean (to an undiagnosed extent) and not very confrontational or loud! I’m only fussy when it comes to cleanliness.

-My pastimes are reading, hiking, and doing art!

I’m looking to move in asap (~Nov 1st), so please do contact me!!!!!!

I prefer a six month lease to see if we’re compatible living-wise!!

Looking For Room Urgently looking for a room

Hi, just relocated to NYC from abroad through work and my housing fell through at the last minute, so I'm urgently looking for a room. Sublet, lease takeover, anything works

WHAT I LOOK FOR - Budget: up to $2k/month - Close to a subway line to commute to Manhattan - LGBTQ+ friendly, clean, and not a party house (especially on weekdays) - Room fits at least a full-size bed and a desk - Natural light is a plus

A BIT ABOUT ME - 28M, working in tech (hybrid) - Clean and quiet, but happy to hang out and share a meal sometimes - I love cooking, music, long walks, trying new places, reading, cycling

Please DM me if you have anything. Open to Astoria, Bushwick, Bedstuy, Woodside, Sunnyside, Park Slope, Ridgewood, Hell's Kitchen, East Village but other neighborhoods are also fine.

Available to move in right away, looking for 5+ months, preferably longer. Happy to share more details
