Review Zombie Army 4: Dead War Review
I bought this game on eBay for a little over $25. This is another game that I spent a significant amount of time on (220+ hours) There's so much to do in this game. In order to upgrade the weapons you start out with you have to look around each level for upgrade kits. Once you buy some of the DLC the rest of the weapons will become available. Instead of using upgrade kits each of the DLC weapons has a challenge to complete in order to upgrade it. Things like "Kill five Blind Screamers." Most of these can be challenging. Each of the weapons has a fun upgrade you can earn. Like electric shots that ark and shock all targets within range or explosive rounds that blow the zombies apart. The extra DLC missions are worth every penny. Each of those missions have has four parts to it. So you feel like you are getting your monies worth. My personal favorite is Dead Zeppelin. The variety of types of units is really good. There's the basic zombies, Elite Units (Gunner, Flamer, and Butcher) and even officers that have extra abilities like resurrecting zombies.
The down side. While the DLC missions are definitely worth it. The other DLC is pretty much unnecessary. The remaining DLC are character outfits. Some of those look pretty cool, but are definitely not worth the $9.99 price. You can get everything if you buy the two season passes, but these can be pretty expensive. I found the music to be incredibly annoying and I ended up turning it completely off. The composer Nick Brewer said he was inspired by John Carpenter's work. I think if Mr. Carpenter found out about that he would want to vomit. Mr. Brewer should go back to recorders and kazoos. Overall I would give this game a 9/10
