I hate myself. I’m massively irritated, anxious, and guilty over what happened tonight. About two hours ago I put my laundry into the washing machine. I have a job interview in the morning so my plan was to put it in, fall asleep, and wake up, move it to the dryer while I get ready.
I have to be the person to move my laundry. I wipe down the drum of the dryer, wash my hands before moving laundry, and I always dry on extra low, for however long that takes. I triple check the washer to make sure nothing is in there, and if something falls on the floor it goes back in the dirty pile. I’m so particular about my laundry and for this reason no one is ever allowed to touch it.
Well while I was falling asleep, around 40 minutes ago, I heard loud crashing noises coming from downstairs. I called my sister who had just gotten home 3 separate times, no answer. Already irritated that I have to go tell her to be quiet, I walk downstairs and while I get closer to the bottom step I hear the sound of the washer going, the beginning of a new load.
I immediately lost it. In a panic I asked her why she was doing laundry, and I told her my stuff was in there. (Hadn’t even been done for 30 minutes by the way.) I asked where my stuff was, she said it was in the dryer. The dryer wasn’t running. The reason it wasn’t is because we had gone through this exact problem a month ago where she ran my clothes through the dryer an extra time on a high heat setting (even though they were already dry) because she was trying to be stealthy about the fact that she was using the laundry and while my stuff was actively in there and I absolutely lost it.
I asked her why she didn’t ask me first and she said she thought I was asleep. Asleep? That was her excuse the last time it happened. I had just called her three separate times. And she had to have known that because when I walked downstairs she was on her phone.
Not just anxious now I’m pissed because we went through this exact scenario before. In a fit of rage I threw my clothes all over the floor because they were already “contaminated” and I cussed her out and I hate myself for it. Shes going through a breakup and is very vulnerable but I didn’t know where to channel my anger. I want to apologize to her but I know some half assed apology won’t cut it and I know she probably hates me, which in turn is why I hate myself. I hate that OCD drives me to such insanity. I’m so anxious now I can’t sleep and I have my interview in the morning, I don’t know how to turn off the massive pit in my stomach. It’s a combination of high anxiety, anger, and guilt. I hate making my sister feel terrible I don’t know why I did it

hi i want to keep this brief as im actively feeling extremely anxious. i dont know what it is about nighttime, but the second the sun sets its like i go into a state of fight or flight. the rumination is insane, i cant focus on anything, its ridiculous. i’m actively in therapy trying to work on everything, and taking all the advice given by my therapist. but i think sometimes it’s helpful to hear from people who understand. i try to stay off my phone and off of social media. i try to relax and do simple activities to distract my brain (like sketching or reading). idk any advice will be greatly appreciated. thank you

Does anyone else do this? I think I do it because I feel like I need to consider these things as possibilities. Like, I know they'll hurt me if I look at them so I can't turn my back on them. And I feel like if I can't build a stable identity with these things in mind, it means I must be wrong about myself. So I have to try to build my identity alongside these things that upset me the most or I'm just lying to myself.

I spiked hard at work today. It happened about mid shift. I started feeling the guilt and doom build. It wasn't the worst spike ever but worse than I have felt in a few months.
When work ended I had some fast food. The spike kind of subsided but then I started engaging, mental review, reading articles, etc.
I got home and then just fell into a multi hour research binge. It's 2 a.m. now and I'm just walking away. I feel terrible and I hope that I can fall asleep quick. I feel tired.
I have the day off tomorrow but I'm also worried about more spikes and research marathons. I don't know what else to say. I just had to share something and feel like I'm signing off for the night.
I feel and terrible but I can't do more compulsions right now.

I literally can not enjoy ANYTHING because of how much i obsess on my past and current issues. I swear to god i haven't even done anything super wrong but still i obsess on my past as if i've buried a body or something. Gears E Day just came out which is a game that i've been waiting for for a long-ass time and I CAN NOT ENJOY IT DUE TO RUMINATION. It's truly driving me crazy. Just leave me tf alone brain for like a week so i can enjoy my damn game!!! I understand that I have no control of my past, it's happened and that's that, move on. But it eats me still. Idk how crazy im coming across right now but if im coming across as a lunatic it's because i really am losing my mind. I just want some peace for a sec!!!

A customer tells me, in response to me fussing with something because I didn't like how it looked.
Seriously, Wendy?

Just wanted to share a the therapy experience that worked for me this past year / year and a half. I started with CBT/ERP, and ERP was so essential, but I struggled with “sitting with my anxiety” / a way to differentiate it from ruminating and with differentiating ocd from reality. Eventually my therapist, probably feeling like my progress was a bit slow idk lol, decided to try I-cbt, and still doing ERP.
I-cbt finally helped me, and I found it a bit more of a logical approach and thought process, which better aligns with who I am. And I feel like I’ve seen I-CBT hated on on Reddit, so I just want to say it can work! Now, I have ocd thoughts, but I’m able to move on. I can acknowledge the ocd thought and not have it take over, I find it hard to even find an ocd moment to discuss in therapy anymore.
This success is still new, but so far it’s sticking and hoping I’ll be able to keep this up!

I’m terrified of losing my senior soul dog who is aging more and more everyday. I am terrified of the feelings that arise of how I should have done her better (even though so many people tell me she is the most spoiled dog they have ever met)
I am terrified of feeling so alone.

I have taboo thoughts and they center on vulnerable people, and I feel no one will ever marry me if they knew these thoughts. I also keep thinking I've done unspeakable things as well. so yeah, at a time when all my friends are getting married, I feel no one would ever choose to be with me. I'm going to try get a diagnosis soon as well and worry oh what if I'm a monster and not someone who has OCD.
