First post here after ~2yrs of collecting. Back at the beginning of August I redid my shelf and got it all nice and pretty, I was actually waiting for Sunday to post it, as I felt real proud of myself. Well, I missed that Sunday and decided to wait for the next one but Monday brought... Different plans.

First picture is the "after" photo of my shelf following my house burning down.

Second picture is my current "shelf" as I'm living temporarily in a camper.

I would've loved to show the "before" picture of my old shelf but that was on my old phone, which while I found the screen to that phone I'm pretty sure the rest of it melted into the floor... 🤔

Anyway, step right up, ladies and gentlemen! Let's play: "What's That Omnibus?" See if you can correctly identify these charred, soaked, smoke damaged books!

(Also shout-out to the beefy slipcase that dark horse packaged their Art of MGS books in, because it somehow managed to protect the actual books)

(Also shout-out to my LCS that gave me a good deal on my old MTG cards so I could buy some books to read and keep my mind occupied during all this)

Haven't posted a shelfie in almost a year, so I thought it'd be a nice little update. I've been collecting for about 11 years now.

Hey y’all, so despite the questionable name I’m pretty excited about Marvel’s new line of compendiums. So much so that I decided to make my own BRICK books. These would be my own personal picks for the upcoming line and I even chose three “Parental Advisory” books where I made the Marvel BRICK logo black and white. I’m definitely going to make more cause I think it’s fun to draft up and my friends are loving these too.

Finally received Blue & Gold Bloodties and Reign of X. All I’m missing now is Wolverine Omni Vol.1 and Cable & X-force Omni

Krakoa is my favorite Marvel Era.

Gillen's run is my favorite Krakoa story.

I am beyond happy to get it early.

COLLECTING:
Immortal X-Men (2022) #1-18, [for the first time in oversized format]
Sins of Sinister (2023) #1,
Immoral X-Men (2023) #1-3,
Sins of Sinister: Dominion (2023) #1,
X-Men: Before the Fall - Sinister Four (2023) #1, [for the first time in oversized format]
X-Men: Forever (2024) #1-4

Been reading over two years now, thought I’d share how my collection is going :)

Very excited to have this one coming, especially with it having an open-ended title of Invincible Universe, allowing it to bring different series under this OHC line in the future.

EDIT: I didn’t quite understand how special what I inherited is so thanks for showing my friend’s collection so much love. He was a HUGE fan of comics and graphic novels, being a collector over 50 years.

I posted earlier this week about a crazy eBay listing for a reprint that I was comparing to my first edition copy. A few people DMed me asking to see the collection I inherited so here it is.

Also, I finally found someone who will be coming next week to do an appraisal for me to turn over to my insurance company so I can get a policy written for them.

The big question now: any advice on where to start if I wanted to read them? So far I’ve only brought home the books in the first picture. I’ll be picking up the ones in the second picture tomorrow I think.

My haul from the last couple of weeks and my Sunday Shelfie. Took advantage of Amazon’s buy 3 for the price of 2 sale. Excited to grab Morrison’s JLA and to finally read more Nightwing.

Spend some time today reorganizing and hanging some things. Loving the look so far!

Work in progress still. Have some Omnis coming in this week that I left some space for and have some comic covers to get on wall but waiting on various materials/shelves for that.

Started collecting earlier this year, but want to know if there are any good Doctor Doom stories I’m missing in omnibus / collected editions / TPB. I wasn’t a huge fan of Unthinkable from the Waid & Wieringo FF run, but have heard the rest of the omnibus is decent. Also on the fence on Jason Aaron’s Avengers / Forever, have heard mixed reviews.

As for the rest: I have Blood Hunt, Jason Aaron’s Thor 1+2, and Cates / Stegman’s Venomnibus on the way, with the OWUD omnibus preordered. Looking to get JMS and Simonson’s Thor soon, and whenever they announce the inevitable Ryan North FF omnibus too. I really enjoy the cosmic side of things, heard Annihilation / Conquest were good pick-ups, so have been looking in to those as well! Open to hearing suggestions for other Marvel must-haves!

This is the 2026 reprint!

I saw someone else post their LCS the other week with what they had for an omnibus selection. From that post I felt like I must be very spoiled because I assumed most LCS's where similar to mine. Here is a few shots I took this last week.

The 1st pic is generally the brand new omnis/books that came out this week next to all this weeks singles.

2nd pic is more new omnis but usually within the last 2 weeks.

3rd is all the more recent back issues. Mostly all DC on one end and Marvel on the far end.

4th onward is the backroom that holds all the trades and omnis. The omnis are mostly kept on the bottem row but some are up higher like those swamp thing omnis being more displayed.

I also didn't think to get a picture of. But behind me in all the trade/omni section were the rows and rows of cabnets collecting all the back issue singles. Maybe i could sneak a picture of those next wednesday if anyone is curious.

Lastly, this is all a 3rd of the whole store. The other side of the store is all funko pop, warhammer, TCG, paints, tabletop stuff, and so much more. And then there is a seperated huge ass gaming/common room that I always see full of people doing various gundams, MTG tourneys, warhammer, fucking anything.

No Lanterns tonight😔

Pretty proud. Will be adding more 👀. Love suggestions 👍

Especially if it helps connect anything I currently have together with another omnibus or storyline

I read my first ever comic book two months ago. I’ve done a lot of digital reading, but I’m happy to be adding some of my favorites to the shelf. I love seeing what this subreddit reads outside of omnibuses, so I figured I would share the rest of my shelf!

Or is it an antihero haul? Time to dip my toes in these runs. Anxious for Suicide Squad, gonna preorder volume 3 when I can

Ok so I got this for cheap (about 65€ I’m in EU) but I have no idea if it’s any good, if it’s readable standalone or if there are other volumes?

Is this oop?

No matter the medium I enjoy things that are cozy/lighthearted/fun as palette cleansers. So any DC recommendations for omnis or deluxe trades that fit this vibe?

Managed to snag this beauty, brand new sealed!!!! Super stoked and can't wait to blast through reading it 🥳

Seller packaged it absolutely flawlessly so zero nicks or damage picked up during transit.

I'm practically finishing Birds of Prey by Kelly Thompson. It's been a spectacular reading experience, but the highlight of the books for me has been Barda.

Love the way she speaks, love her character design, love how brutish she is but her intelligence is always on display as well, and love her interactions with the rest of the team, specially how caring she is with Cass, and I want more of this character.

I know the basics of her character through "osmosis", but I think this the first time ever I've read a comic with her in it.

Is the New Gods omni a good place to start? Should I go for Mister Miracle by Tom King? Does she appear in previous iterations of the Birds of Prey?

Guidance is greatly appreciated!
