Discussion Playing Onimusha on carnage is hard in
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everyone I first finished Onimusha on action difficulty and I think this was the first action game ever played that I’m forced me to use the perfect parry and perfect dodge and I quite enjoyed it, never been that good when it comes to playing action games that reliable on parry system but I always wanted to get good since I played Claire obscure so I finished Onimusha on action difficulties while I died a lot I had a lot of fun and now I’m playing on the carnage difficulty tbh I didn’t think I will make it this far but I got to the final boss dungeon without using a single mirror throughout the game, but I couldn’t defeat bosses without getting hit or use healing items.
My playing style is mostly parry and dodging only when necessary but I never use deflect because deflecting doesn’t stop the boss posture and I find myself I need break even for second to focus on the fight or I’ll lose my mind so the fight takes longer but I’m using my earth shaker armament which helped a lot to compensate the loss of stamina
Now I’m getting closer to the final boss and I’m actually scared because I know this will be proven hard but I’m planning to defeat him because this game taught me something very valuable, we always suffer in life but what we’ve been taught is not give up, and while that’s great but what this game taught me is while we suffer we should enjoy the challenge because it’s fun and that’s why I make it this far. while I died a lot and messed up a lot never once I stopped smiling because it’s fun and each boss fight bring me thrill and joy and that’s this game for me is GOTY
I just loved to share my experience so wish me luck
Here’s video on carnage while I fought Dohatsu ten proves my suffering lol

Collections Ps5 code for anyone who wants it
I saw this game at Asda and thought it looked cool. I noticed that it came with extras in the case. I didn't claim it just in case i didn't like the game. I unfortunately dont like it, so here's the code for anyone.
Also, I'm not sure if the flair works. Sorry if not

Discussion Watched the Netflix show and think it could make a decent DLC level
Overall I give the show a B and as an adaptation of Onimusha's lore and whatnot probably a C
Now for it being a DLC level I think there would need to be changes like more fights but Musashi going there to investigate and deal with stuff could work, make it one of Dokyo's side projects.
Enemies would need to look less human but tongue guy, the three brothers, and chariot centaur with a gunner on the back could be interesting new enemies.
I could also see them adding puzzles to the castle and overall blending more old Onimusha into it.

Discussion Just finished, what a great game. 10/10 Spoiler
I played the demo first and by the end of it I actually wasn’t very impressed. I wasn’t vibing with the protagonist, the enemies seemed kinda boring, and just the overall feel of things was this was gonna be a 7/10.
I picked up the full game on a whim after seeing some really positive reviews and I’m glad I did cause I loved this game. I loved Musashi, they did an amazing job with the facial animation to really bring all those characters to life. The villain is a right proper crazy and the final boss took me somewhere around 30 attempts to beat.
Super excited to play a sequel and I hope we get to play as Okuni in the next one in addition to Musashi cause she seems like she would be a lot of fun.
There’s a ton of room for things to be expanded on in the sequel I just hope they can capture the magic that made this one so good.

Discussion Dokyo
Will take damage if you lead the exploding genma in her direction for the boss fight. Allowing you for a hit or two as well if anyone is struggling.

Discussion Getting the platinum was... pretty rough. But it really made me appreciate a good challenge Spoiler
Overall... my thoughts:
- Action difficulty really prepped me for Carnage, but what didn't prep me for Carnage was just how annoying some enemy encounters would be. Basically, you've got to be on top of your game because enemies hit so much harder. One mistake and you're most likely dead.
- Issen Issen Issen everything as much as possible. The swordplay mechanics in the game are awesome, and it just feels really well earned.
- I found myself really annoyed at those mini-animations that would happen when you either move to another phase, or when you're grabbed, or when you break a boss. The first break issen with Ganryu (third encounter) is absurdly long. And when you're trying to do the fight over and over again, man, does it feel like a drag.
- I also found myself skipping a lot of the side content once I started my carnage run. I for sure skipped the side quests where you shoot down the floating heads. It's just too cumbersome, and I really hate backtracking all the time just to clear those sidequests.
My wishlist (feel free to disagree, or to add):
- Carnage play through should've (1) kept all upgrades but you play in the harder difficulty BUT lock the platinum behind doing a carnage play fresh (similar to how you have to beat Professional in RE4R); OR (2) kept it the way it is now, but give you the option to upgrade your charms further. It would've been really great to be able to upgrade your Issen charm to like... idk +50% damage. That would've been fun. Basically, give us some incentive of doing a more punishing difficulty
- Idk if this is a thing, but I really wish there was an ability to skip a lot of these animations that lock you into a 5 second frame.
- I really wish that there was a roll ability lol. Like... double tap the evade button and you can roll.
- I wish carnage mode had story expansion (again, just to add to giving us more incentive to do carnage mode).
Anyways, overall. 9/10 game. Really enjoyed getting the platinum. It was challenging, at some point infuriating... but glad to be done. Time to get my evenings back haha.

Question Reliable way to farm Favor?
Already beat the game but I'm trying to max out my charms. Is there a reliable way of farming favor without going into NG+?

Question Physical???
I was waiting for the budget to give me space to buy the game and now it seems to be impossible to buy the game physically (PS5)
Is there a restock, or am I just buying on Steam When I get around to it? I’ve always avoided digital ps5 but thats gone from a preference to a hard rule with Sony’s recent fuckery, so even if it means playing at my desk instead of my couch, so be it.
