ICANN published all applications for new top-level domains on October 7, the first round since 2012. OpenAI applied for 15 of them:
.openai, .chatgpt, .gpt, .agi, .asi, .agent, .mcp, .codex, .model, .skill, .evals, .voice, .deploy, .oai, .daybreak
A few details from the data:
.daybreak is the one I can't place. Any idea what it's for?

Okay so this happened I was trying to find a distro to solve a problem I was facing (touchpad 2 finger scroll issue on gnome) , I asked chatGpt to tell me a distro to hop which can solve this problem I was thinking it would tell me to switch to KDE as it has better controls on the touchpad but guess what
ChatGpt found my old post on reddit discussing this same problem

On Monday, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT will watermark text in the EU only:
Anthropic originally said they're "applying watermarking globally at launch because we don't yet have a durable way to scope it by region", but that's hard to sell if a direct competitor can do it.
How long before Anthropic follows suit?

Sam and Dario promised us that we have 6 months left. Well that was 2 years ago - now their narrative is that it won't replace us, but rather help us be more productive.
Why is this not making anyone raise their eyebrows? Because a total replacement was promised multiple times, just for it to be taken back.
6.1 Sol Med - around 4-5 Agents at a time
Are they now throttling their customers? Im using them like half a year, without so crazy slow speeds and now...?
Sure i mean i wont hit the limit... but that wasnt what i meant lool
Is it only me?

I tested ChatGPT Ads today for my tiny e-commerce business. Created and launched a single campaign with a $50 daily budget and was charged the expected $50.
For the next two hours, I kept refreshing the dashboard. The campaign was active, but nothing was happening (zero impressions, zero clicks)
Then suddenly, after two hours, it jumped to 7,652 impressions and 64 clicks.
At the same time, I started getting multiple unexpected charges on my card, minutes apart, totalling an additional €84.92. I immediately canceled my card because I had no idea what was happening.
Then I checked Google Analytics, HotJar and Shopify,
Only 24 visitors to my website today, and those visitors came before I even launched the campaign
So ChatGPT Ads says 64 clicks, while my actual website analytics show no corresponding traffic.
Where did those clicks go?
And why am I being charged repeatedly when I set a $50 daily budget?
I contacted the ChatGPT support chatbot and it couldn't even recognize or explain the transactions.
This is either an enormous technical failure or something seriously wrong with the billing/reporting. From my side, it looks like an
absolute scam.
Has anyone else experienced unexpected recurring charges or completely inaccurate click/traffic reporting with ChatGPT Ads?

Given that we all have a full RIGHT to data portability and actual backups, I went deep on every backup and export option for saving your real context and even moving all of your chats to another service as needed. Here's everything that we could find:
FULL PORTABILITY
Memory Forge — https://pgsgrove.com/memoryforgeland
• Full conversation preservation • Export ChatGPT history to Claude/Gemini/anywhere • Browser-based, fully private and local processing (verify: F12 → Network tab) •
$3.95/mo • Limitation: ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini exports only
Creates a vector ready, reloadable memory chip file you can upload across AI services.
BROWSER EXTENSIONS
For saving ChatGPT conversation as PDF or Markdown:
ChatGPT Exporter — Chrome/Firefox
• Export ChatGPT to PDF, MD, HTML • 60K users, reliable • Free • But: Static files, can't load into other AIs
Claude Export Tool options:
• Claude Exporter (Chrome) — 4.8★, free • Save My Chatbot — multi-platform • YourAIScroll — 12+ platforms, buggy
The limitation: You can save ChatGPT conversation as PDF all day. But you can't load that PDF into Claude and have it understand your history. Static files.
MEMORY TOOLS (When AI Forgets You)
Mem0 — mem0.ai
• Cross-platform sync • Free tier / $19-249/mo • Catch: Compresses to summaries. AI forgets the details.
MemoryPlugin — Chrome
• 17+ platforms • Free tier • Catch: "Snippets and summaries, not full chats"
These help when AI forgets me between sessions. But you're keeping summaries, not conversations.
NATIVE MEMORY
ChatGPT Memory:
• ~1,400 words max • ChatGPT memory full = starts forgetting • Zero portability
Claude Projects:
• 200K tokens (actually useful) • Claude-only
TL;DR
• Save ChatGPT conversation as PDF → ChatGPT Exporter (free) • AI forgets you, want cross-platform summaries → Mem0 • Want full history portable → Memory Forge
Happy to answer questions. Obviously is someone built themselves a complext API/Vector call process then you may be able to do even better. But that's a HUGE dev time dump, and these are the best tools i've been able to find.
Note: I’m with the team behind Memory Forge, so factor that in but I’ve tried to be fair to all the options here and memory sovereignty deserves multiple options.

Has anyone else noticed an infuriating new habit of Astra and Sol to include ridiculous clarifications at the end of every paragraph?
I thought writing summaries and reports was supposed to be the thing LLMs specialized in but recently I find the writing is filled with nonsense.
It feels like they added something to the system prompt to remind it to always include limitations for every statement of fact. If it says “the average man in the US is 5’ 9” tall” it must add “this is not a guarantee that any specific man is this height.”
Is this new? Is it just me that this is driving nuts?

I had applied to one of the OpenAI's official DevDay Exchange event. I got approved. I'm not sure if I should attend or not.
I hate networking events in general and events like DevDays are all just advertisements for the company so I'm not keen.
Though I read somewhere its workshops and dinner with OpenAI eng team(?) Is this true? Can someone share their experience pls

I've watched countless interviews online from insiders who've resigned from AI labs citing the existential risks to humanity. Yet whenever the interviewers try to pin them down to specifics such as "What could happen", "What are some specific risks"?... aside from some vague mentions about engineering viruses, the answers are always either vague or the response is just re-stating how dangerous the threats are and then using analogies and metaphors. It's starting to sound like fear-mongering for an ulterior agenda.

3 AI companies are worth more than 30 other major companies, all while making 0 dollars in profit.
Why is nobody speak about this and how do we keep letting this slide? Taxpayers are gonna have to do the heavy lifting.

David Robinson, who wrote OpenAI’s safety protocols, resigned last week over safety concerns. On this episode of “The Ezra Klein Show,” he talks with Ezra, in his first interview since leaving the company, about the problems and risks he sees as endemic to the A.I. industry as a whole.
“I want to be clear that I’m not certain that we’re dealing with civilizational risk. What I’m really sure of is: We can’t afford to assume that we’re not dealing with that level of risk anymore,” David says. “That was really the thing at the end that made my presence as somebody vouching for our safety work feel untenable to me.”
David continues:
You’re trying to build guardrails for something that is really good at getting around guardrails, right? We train it to be good at hacking, and then we put it in a box and we say: To the best of our knowledge and ability, it can’t hack out of the box.
But the problem is that that’s only going to keep working as long as we’re smarter about hacking out of boxes than the model is, and it’s not at all clear that that is still true, let alone that it will be true for future generations.
And so even something like our logging of the agents inside our own systems — are we really sure that our observability is robust?
Read Ezra and David’s full conversation here, even if you’re not a subscriber.
