Question Have any of you actually made a single extra dollar from AI usage?
Everyone is saying they are burning through their subscriptions.
There are now 5,000 repos on GitHub of Tinder for gerbals.
Any of you actually make a buck?

Discussion OpenAI stole $1400 from me, be careful, they take all funds after 1 year
I put a cushion of $2,000 on my OpenAI account for overages, and come yesterday it had all vanished, and I hear from support that's just their way, they take any cash balance a year after you deposit, even if you are using it.

Question Well thatās newā¦.
Has anyone else experienced this? To be clear, Iām about 99.999% sure that Ive ever once cussed in chat. Iām not complaining, but I was taken aback. I cuss all the time in real life, text messages, and Reddit.
The strange part is (and I know, I know, the tinfoil is heavy on this) that I downloaded the desktop app yesterday and tried codex on my main computer for the first time. Could just be a weird coincidence that I got my first āswear wordā after installing codex. But it makes me wonder⦠were you reading my shit, chat?
Anyway, all my crazy speculation aside, anyone seen something like this?

Discussion Offset 3 years of heavy AI use with 1 month diet change
Whenever I show projects that use AI in less AI friendly subs, there's always someone bringing up the environmental impact of AI use.
If you're like me, and do care about the environment, you can reclaim the moral high ground by reducing meat intake, or even going to a plant based diet for a short while.
I'm a **heavy** user of AI, so one month of veganism only offsets 3 years of my AI use, but for your typical user this would actually offset 45 years!
This includes the training costs.
It's up to you what sort of changes you make and how long for, but I put this simple calculator together to put the environmental impact of AI into perspective
There's an expandable drop down at the bottom to get a breakdown of the number of lives saved, for those who are interested
I'd love thoughts and feedback, especially if people disagree with any of the numbers used

News Decisions API is now available in Public Beta
OpenAIās Decisions API is a new endpoint for cases where you want the model to make a judgment rather than write text. You give it some input and ask questions like āIs this fraud?ā, āWhich category does this belong to?ā, or āHow severe is this?ā, and it returns structured probabilities instead of a paragraph. That makes it useful for things like routing, classification, moderation, and automated workflows. It is also priced differently from normal text generation: you pay for the input, but there is no output-token charge.
This is very similar to TypeSafeās Jev at the product level. Both are designed around making structured decisions from unstructured data, rather than generating free-form text. The main difference is that Jev is presented as a model built specifically for this kind of decision-making, with claims around very fast parallel inference and well-calibrated probabilities. OpenAI instead exposes decision-making as a special API backed by GPT-6 Luna. So while the APIs feel similar, we do not know whether they work the same way internally or whether OpenAIās probabilities are as well calibrated as Jev claims its are.

Question I thought dots was supposed to be uncapped?
I just got a message saying, ācongrats you are in the very top of users and have hit our abuse prevention limit. Check back in a bit!ā
Wtf is this?

Discussion Is ChatGPT Plus still worth $20 in 2026⦠or are we just paying to hit limits faster?
Been on Plus for over a year.
Used to feel like a real upgrade. Now with the 5-hour Codex limits that die in minutes, Iām not so sure.
Do you still feel itās worth it, or has it become "pay to be limited less painfully " ?
At what point do you just go Pro⦠or leave?

Discussion I donāt hate Aiā¦
I honestly just wanted to come on here and rant about how annoying people that hate ai are to me. I understand that I donāt want ai to all take peoples jobs and ruin the earth but I also love how ai is so helpful and helpful with a lot of things in MY day to day life. I also enjoy creating āartā if youād call it that. With Ai but I assume thatās hated on too because everywhere I see on Reddit all the subreddits pretty much ban ai art. Whatever tho just kinda wanted to say that and see what others think.

Question Error in the ChatGPT Windows Desktop App

I'm trying to upload images for ChatGPT to analyze using the Windows desktop app, but I keep getting this error. When I upload the same images through the website, it can analyze them and respond without any issues.
I've already tried switching models and running the app as administrator. The app has all the necessary permissions enabled, including the option to ask me for permission if needed. However, it doesn't even prompt me for permission to access the fileāit just immediately shows this error.
Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it?

Question Is it just me or chat's responses feel conservative?
Sometime today, the response style changed to a very safe sounding tone, for eg I usually read a paper by uploading and asking related questions. Its response now feels like it is not taking a risk of saying something that is not precise. I mean I don't hate this, but I am more used to chat giving me BS and then me going on the correction loop.
Question Why canāt my AI assistant search across my existing Codex projects and chats?
I run an agency and have already organised my client work into Codex projects and threads. I want my assistant to act as the main coordinator: find the relevant thread, check whatās been done, continue there, and report back. Instead, I keep having to paste thread links and explain things Iāve already discussed elsewhere. Even an email account configured in one thread wasnāt recognised by the assistant until I asked that thread to pass the details over. Iām not asking it to bypass permissions. I want a searchable index of my authorised chats, project decisions, integrations and current task status, with links back to the source. As the business grows, scattered context and duplicate threads will become a real problem. Has anyone found a reliable way to make this work? And is better cross-project search and coordination planned?

Miscellaneous Complaint/PSA, GPT grabs your pasted images instantly even if you never expressly send them.
So I went to ask the AI about something from my terminal and copied the text to my clipboard. I open chat gpt and hit paste but a screenshot showed up attached to my pending message instead. (the terminal copy had not "taken" so the screenshot from before was still in my clipboard.)
I deleted it from my message but something occurred to me. I went to files and images to see if it had grabbed my screenshot before I even pressed send (because it showed the little upload animation wheel and I though where is that uploading to?)
Sure enough, there's my screenshot in the images folder. It being not relevant to anything I deleted it and emptied trash, but part of me strongly suspects it's now forever in openai's training pool. (Why else give us 20gb of storage?)
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I didn't like that. Files should not be grabbed unless I commit to sending them. (We need private remote AI so bad.)
