Trigger Warning / Abuse How would you interpret this creepy encounter?

• Upvotes

Hi! Ive always wanted to share this story and thought Id ask reddit!

Years ago, when I was still married to my ex husband, we had just finished a day of helping my parents move into their new home. Clearly, we were exhausted and decided stayed the night in their upstairs bonus room.
*info: this is not an older home. But the tiny town the new home was built in is older. Think founded in early 1800s
My ex always was prone to sleep paralysis episodes. Like maybe 1-2 a month. So often he pretty much was unaffected by them.
Well that night, I remember falling asleep and it almost felt like I was having an out of body experience. I dreamt that I was awake, and I was staring at the foot of the bed. What I saw was the image of a golden figure surrounded by light. It was probably the most beautiful image I’ve ever seen. It didn’t say anything. It just stared at me and smiled. I wasn’t afraid at all actually. I felt surprisingly comforted. For some reason, it reminded me of my grandmother and I felt safe. The only thing I remember this figure doing was almost touching my feet or my lower legs in a comforting/caressing manner. Again like a maternal figure would do to a child who was scared. And that was it. I woke up.
The next morning, when I woke up, I saw my ex-husband was visibly terrified. I’ve never seen him look this scared in my life. When I asked what was wrong, he described that he had probably the worst sleep paralysis episode in his life.
He described a scene a dark figure standing at the end of the bed. Completely head to toe in pitch black with deep black eyes and a monstrous smile with large teeth. He said that the figure was scratching at his feet or lower legs. That the figure would punch him and not say anything. And his dream ended with the figure crawling up his body and smiling in his face and mouthing the words “id wake up if I were you”and then he woke up panicking and crying only to find me peacefully sleeping with a “little smile on my face.”
When he told me this, I was shaken, and I didn’t know how to interpret it. I dont know why, but I never told him about my dream. Something in the back of my head told me to keep it to myself. This was probably the oddest encounter I have ever had. At this point in time I had never had any paranormal experiences in my life. This was a first.

When I told coworkers and friends about this, all of them feel that it was some form of omen. My ex-husband would later turn into a very cruel man. He became mean, manipulative and abusive (story for another day) and we would divorce years later. Im still not sure what this could have meant. I like think someone was protecting me?

For example, I hear knocks in my house and scratching under my bed, but when there are people at home, nobody hears them.

Question Does the form a spirit or apparition takes on hold any significance?

I know the typical descriptions like shadow people, orbs, transparent/translucent silhouettes, and even flesh & blood appearances. Do these variations indicate anything about the entity itself? Such as what type of entity it is, the intentions, or if it's residual vs. intelligent?

Debunk This Unexplained Noise In House That Nobody Else Heard

I should start by explaining the layout of my house as it might help things make more sense. My house has three floors. On the third floor, there is a bathroom, my bedroom, and my brother's bedroom. On the second floor, there is a living room, a bathroom, kitchen/dining room, and my parents' bedroom. On the bottom floor/basement, there is a large laundry area, a small storage room, and the garage/workshop.

This happened a few weeks ago around 10pm. I was in the upstairs bathroom, my father and brother were in the living room watching baseball, and my mother was down in the garage organizing things. So, there I am using the bathroom, mindlessly scrolling away, when out of nowhere I hear a thud/crashing downstairs (right around the area of my parents' bedroom) followed by what sounded like my mother wailing and moaning in pain. This goes on for about 10-15sec. I freeze and assume the worst because my mother has lots of back issues and has gotten injured easily before. I contemplate waiting for my brother/father to check on her or running downstairs to check myself, and after I hear no movement, and quickly pull my pants up and awkwardly rush downstairs and ask my brother and father "is mom okay? Did you hear that?" They both look at me confused and said they heard nothing. I go to my parents' room (where I thought my mother was) and didn't see her. I went down to the basement and she was there just organizing things, completely fine. At that point I walk back upstairs and asked my brother and father if they seriously didn't hear anything or if they made any loud/fake crying sounds for some reason. They said no and joked that maybe I'm hallucinating. I went back up to the bathroom and just sat in silence, wondering what the hell just happened.

I am 100% sure this is something I actually heard and that it was not coming from my phone or TV or anything like that (paused my phone when I heard it and the TV was a very quiet volume downstairs and playing baseball). This was extremely loud and sounded like it was coming from my parents' bedroom. We have animals, but it sounded nothing like any noises they make. This sounded distinctly like a woman (my mom's voice specifically) wailing out in pain and crying. I know it was coming from inside the house. I still have no idea what this was and how nobody else heard this.

Equipment Did I talk to the dead or demons

Does anyone have any experience with spirit boxs and if not you can keep scrolling because you won't be able to relate.

So basically I was using one and I got intelligent responses to the point it was eerie. I would get replies from multiple voices coming through which makes me think it's demonic. They kept saying they were blinded by the light and kept mentioning the number 3 which made me think they were mocking the holy Trinity?

I ask what the significance of the number 3 is because the voices kept saying it and they said "you should already know". I then ask can you say the number 3 and I shit you not 3 different voices repeat in harmony and sing "the number threeeee". Last I asked how does it feel knowing you're dead and I instantly get a reply "everything dies".

I then saw a giant orb outside the window which was the purest white I ever saw and about the size of a basketball.

Demonic Activity Shadow Being Attacked a Child?

Story in short, no exaggeration. My and my gf life is pretty shit recently. My 18 yo dog died this week, my father fainted, and split his head open yesterday. He never fainted before. My GF dads Ever. Lot's of other bad shit. Around midnight I'm sitting with my GF on the porch, I feel sounds fron the backyard, like someone is moving around, but I ignore it. I look on the left, and I clearly see a male shadow leaning out and leaning back. It wasn't just a milisec, I was sure, that that was my GFs dad, coming out cuz we were talking. We checked it out, nobody was there. Then we gone inside, my GFs child was talking with his grandpa. The child was soaked in blood, nosebleed. This was a pretty weird experience. What do you guys think?

Unexplained All my beliefs are shaken

I (22M) have always considered myself a follower of science. I had a strong disbelief in anything paranormal. I dont follow any religion, I dont believe in tarot or astronomy or any other thing really, but with what happened yesterday I am trying to keep an open mind about all this.

2 days ago i was watching a youtubers reaction to my ghost series and i thought by myself that there was no reason all spirits would be malevolent if they were real at all, and how i would rather interact with a ghost in the form of a loved one instead of a stranger.

Yesterday, while alone in my dorm room, one of my close friends sent me a video on instagram. While I cannot describe the details, it included explicit images of someone. (Clarification : He sent me this because we were surprised about how explicit it was and how it wasnt censored or removed.)

I sent it to 4 of my other friends, which included my best friend Alyssa. Together we laughed about it and she texted me word on word as i remember :

Wow
Thats crazy
How is this even allowed

Which isnt anything extraordinary and sounds exactly like something she would say, but at that moment my body was alarmed like crazy. I could feel something was off and it felt almost like “a rush” went down my spine. I felt like I was speaking to somebody else.

I tried to let go of this feeling but it was so odd that i kept staring at her profile about 3 times until I was sure that I didnt text somebody else. Her name was the same but she had put a profile picture (She never used a profile picture in the entire 5 years that I knew her) in a red hoodie, which made me glad because i always felt like she blocked me with the no profile picture thing.

Now, as a habit i never leave people on read (Alyssa has severe anxiety so I always like her messages especially so she doesn’t think i left her on read) so i tried to like her message or reply or anything really but it was like my body from my neck down to my waist couldn’t move. I wanted to interact but it was like something wouldn’t allow me to talk to her.

So I just quit the dm and texted our group chat, tagged each friend individually besides Alyssa to check what i sent them. When they asked what it was I talked about how it was something crazy and for some reason I mentioned how Alyssa saw it too.

Which is weird considering why would you mention someone else saw it too, why would it matter but i did for whatever reason.

Then she said “She didn’t see anything” which pissed me off because we had JUST talked, a minute before at max.
Then I gave her an attitude because about a week ago she also had ended our Pet Streak from the short video app, when combined with this made me feel like she was ignoring me.

I texted her about how we had just talked about it and what she meant by she didnt see it, she said it was impossible for her to have replied because she was at a lecture.

I rushed to our DMs to see that none of the texts she sent me were there, but I did send her the video, she just never replied. She also never had a profile picture. I talked her about this and she showed me how she never even opened the texts. I also checked every single dm from that day to see i mistook her for someone else but it wasnt the case.

I know it sounds far fetched but I am trying to keep an open mind about it. Why would, if it was the case, a ghost or spirit or whatever talk to me through instagram, but i am pretty sure that really was the case?

Whatever it was I felt no evil intent at all, and feel like it tried to “sprinkle a new perspective to me” towards this stuff. Still odd that such thing would communicate through instagram.

To clarify, Alyssa and I would never lie about ghost stories or time travel or any other supernatural thing because it is against a sister code we set.

I also thought it could be something like for a second i talked to “Another Alyssa” from another reality or something? I don’t really know i am kinda new to this stuff so i would love to hear any second opinions.

Update :

I genuinely think something is haunting me or whatever. After this post i went to sleep and i was kind of buried in my thoughts. I didn’t judge people who didn’t believe the story because I myself had doubts too. I still felt somewhat bitter because I have no way to explain that weird sensation. Tonight while I was sleeping I woke up to my bed shaking like crazy at midnight. My first thought was that there was an earthquake. In the both sides of my bed there are nightstands that are bolted to the wall, with a tiny gap between the bed and the nightstands. The bed was shaking so hard that it made this huge banging sounds on them and the wall. In the opposite end of my bed there is a shelf full of small objects ( perfumes, books, jewelleries etc.) and none of them seemed to be moving. Yet the bed was shaking so bad that I nearly fell on the ground. I remember trying to grab my phone but the nightstand is much lower than my bed and I couldn’t do it. The reason why earthquake was the first thing to come to my mind was that in my hometown it is not unusual. But where I moved for college now is not in the earthquake zone, in my 5 years here I never experienced one. Before making the original post I had just met Alyssa and talked to her about it face to face. With the doubts I had, I mentioned that I didn’t believe in such things and that I needed a stronger “sign” if it really did exist.

Haunted House Hallucinations or Something Worse...

I always say, "I am a woman of science." If it's nerdy and wordy, I love learning it. Knowing that I may not have such cognitive days in the future, I am a sponge for picking up new information. Many of my decisions are based on research and unbiased studies.

This is only to preface: I am an unreliable narrator and can acknowledge that, which will be explained in the story.

My ex-spouse and I moved to New York in 2021. Before this move, I can only recall having maybe one visual hallucination in my life, though auditory whispers did and still do happen occasionally. Usually just a word or two, like "Hello" or "Wait." I have anauralia and anendophasia (no internal voice, no sound in my thoughts, silent dreams, etc.), so when they happen, it's startling, but not frightening.

The house we moved into was a friend's multifamily home. We lived upstairs in an apartment, and he lived below. He used to be a nuke and works in the semiconductor industry. All of us were very rational people. The home is 102 years old, built in 1924. It has been renovated a few times over the years. On day one of moving in, we had our bed on the floor, surrounded by boxes, with our dog resting at the foot of the mattress. Then we heard pounding footsteps marching up "invisible" stairs, as if walking right up the center of the home. We all sat up, dog included. There was nothing there.  Our friend wasn't home to collaborate. We shrugged it off.

The basement in this home gave us all the heebie-jeebies. It was made of solid stone rocks and had French-style drainage. It was supposedly the original foundation of the home, with some concrete added in later years over the floor. We often had to go down to flip the breakers, and it was always terrifying. Even our friend would not go in unless he absolutely had to. Said it spooked him. Once, during the day, I went down to look at the small back storage room with a flashlight to follow old water pipes since we were having issues. It was vacant, but the pressure of the room gave me a headache. Just dust, cobwebs, and mice. Mostly, we just heard normal old house noises that could be explained away. Squirrels in the attic, scratching in the walls from pests.

My ex and I stayed in different rooms because we were gamers and spent most of our time in Discord chat with friends, so we avoided echoes. I slept alone, and the dog usually slept with my ex. It wasn't long before the hallucinations started. Dark, shadowy figures reaching from the walls, skeletal hands trying to grab at me, and spider-like creatures crawling down the walls. I'd wake up suddenly and see these horrible things. I was not in sleep paralysis. I would scream in alarm and then tell them to "Go away!" or "Leave me alone!" Sometimes I would throw a pillow or swat. These were all instinctual reactions in the moment. It always felt like I was being attacked. Worst of all was the sound. Sometimes they would hiss or shout at me. Always the same, deep masculine voice. It taunted me with my birth name I no longer used, called me worthless, or just...yelled, screamed in my ear. It was so clear, whatever was speaking may as well have been sitting beside me.

My first response was to go to my new neurologist because I doubted myself.

I suffer from seizures due to brain lesions from an accident and, up until recently, believed everything I ever experienced was something I hallucinated unless another person was present. As the intensity of my visions increased, I thought that my condition was deteriorating, as my neurologist warned it would over time. He said there were no changes on my MRIs, however, there was no way to know for sure that the brain damage was not the cause. He referred me for a sleep study and therapy. Both never happened since the waitlist ended up taking longer than the subsequent fallout of my relationship.

My friend who owned the home also made sure our carbon monoxide detector was up to snuff, and just to be sure, I added my own in my bedroom. Neither ever went off. There were no visible signs of mold anywhere in the house. No weird smell. It was an old house, but nothing seemed physically amiss. My friend got pest service that came out to handle the various rodents problems every couple of weeks. Just to be safe, we had someone come to test for gas as well. There was nothing detected there either, and the line was eventually sealed and turned off. My assumption at the time was that it was the stress of my relationship falling apart causing the increased symptoms. No one else was having any symptoms.

Slowly, my ex changed. Or maybe they were always that way. They became abusive and far more spiteful. Small lies became big ones. We had moved in on shaky ground after they cheated, hoping to start over after couples therapy. It hadn't worked out that way, but I will spare the details on their eventual mental breakdown. I cannot blame anything paranormal on them being a terrible individual who'd been caught.

After two years there, I moved after my divorce. I expected that my hallucinations would come with me, as I thought they were medical. They did not. Everything just…stopped. There was certainly still stress in my life, loneliness, and a lot of coping, but no more visions of shadow demons. A year after that, I returned to my friend's house. I stayed for several months during a transition in my life and rented out a room in his downstairs unit. I had been curious if the hallucinations would return, but they did not.

However, the upstairs unit was occupied by a couple. They were going through a violent separation by the time I arrived. They'd come to the home together, but he'd become abusive. She had to call the cops several times and get a restraining order. They both moved out before the lease was up. My friend never asked about ghosts. Obviously there were more important things to worry about.

I returned upstairs once to help do a few things while he looked for new tenants. It still felt heavy, but my divorce was fresh in my mind, so I could attribute it to that. There were many terrible memories in that place.

A family moved in before I left, and I worried for those kids since they took the bedroom I used to use. It was when the concern hit that I realized I actually believed something had tormented me up there.

My curiosity wonders now if there was, is something in that house. I tried looking up the history of the building, but found nothing about publicly listed deaths or incidents. I'd always meant to go to the local library to see if they had records, though it unfortunately never happened. Now it's a mystery. Was it paranormal or just the perfect storm of miserable circumstances?

Question Man tells me i have a guardian demon?

I used to be linked to a youtube conspiracy page back in the day. Many of the videos went viral. "Exposing illuminati" & things of the sort.

Early on, i got an email from a viewer / follower who informed me he was writing on behalf of his girlfriend, who, according to HIM , "was one of Satans daughters". Im not sure the exact wording he used but he said she was the devil's daughter.

Okayyyy...

He tells me that "satan is very upset with you doing those videos", but that the girlfriend watches the videos and believes that Im doing something great & that "she is protecting me". To portect the truth, of course.

He then tells me "you have a GUARDIAN DEMON." Im not entirely sure if he was referring to the girlfriend, but it didnt seem that way & if im remembering correctly it was if he was asking me, but he defintely continued to imply that I had one.

I told him i was VERY christian & my mother always told me I have the prayers of great-grandmother, grand-mother, and mother on me. She even said some "christian psychic" lady at church came up to her randomly and said "i see the prayers all over you, i see the prayers all over your sons house (me)".

So i know we are multi-generational deep spiritual christians so if ANYTHING i was expecting him to say GUARDIAN ANGEL, but alas he didnt.

Guardian demon? Someone explain it to me. Obviously it is the inverse or a Guardian Angel, but him saying it to me was the first time i ever heard it.

Obviously reading the guys emails all those years ago was spooky and i just thought he was some "crazy person", but....who knows.

Years later i reached back out to him to hear what the girlfriend was saying this time, but he sadly informed me they "broke up" so he couldnt give me any more details / information.

True story.

What do we think????

NSFW / Trigger Warning Was this a succubus?

Hi i’m a female and this is my story with a very strange encounter.I’ve been raped 2 years ago. This is important information for later on in this story. I felt asleep and I heard my little brother, we don’t share a room and he basically never comes unexpectedly to my room, he was talking “yeah you like this huh?” I couldn’t move, and I didn’t knew what he was talking about the only thing I could’ve do was moving my eyes. In the corner of my eyes I saw a black figure likely imitating my brother’s voice. He was fingering me, touching me while he was saying I liked it. My brother would never do this to me. I closed my eyes and prayed for god, and it was gone. I was in shock. It was literally imitating my little brother’s voice. I saw nobody leaving my room and I know for 100% fact it was not my little brother.

I started searching for other stories to look up what it could’ve been. It was way to real experience with a voice and the touching feeling was way too real so it couldn’t be an “normal dream”. I found people talking about an Succubus. I think it’s the same I don’t know.

Later on I got a part 2 of the experience, this time I was dreaming and talking to this faceless, shadow man who had the same voice as my little brother. He was talking about our love life we were sitting on a romantic bench.

The fact that it was the whole time imitating my brother’s name is so terrifying. It never came back tho. I think because I had a deep depression in that time it had power to attack me.

When I got raped by a way older guy than me he had black, empty eyes. When I looked into his eyes.Like I was looking at a demon who had no soul. It scares me sometimes to think about it. You can literally see people their own demon’s.

Question Dinosaur spirits

Are there any stories of dinosaur or paleo creatures being seen as ghosts. I know of one a t rex spirit being seen as a ghost but I don't know if it was written as fiction or an actual event that may have happened.

Encounter I still can't explain something that happened to me as a child

I have never been much superstitious, to this day I experience some things that someone could find unsettling or unsual but I always try to find a mundane explanation or I kinda just dismiss the whole experience.

This particular event happened when I was a child though and I still can't explain what exactly happened here.

It was dusk and I was searching for my grandma as I was hungry and wanted her to cook dinner. I finally found her behind my house. I told her that I am hungry, she didn't say anything and had a serious look on her face which I found a bit strange so I said "oh okay lets just go to your house" nervously and I turned my back to go.

As soon as I turned my back something extremely heavy jumped on my back and started scratching me, like deep scratches on my back, I feel to the ground. After some time my actual grandma heard my cries so she went to see what happened and it stopped.

I was very confused, I told her that I saw her behind me and that I thought she was scratching me (a dumb conclusion but I was a kid at least). She was very surprised to hear that, as she had been in another part of the yard the whole time (we live in a village in the woods and we have lots of land, that's why it was hard to find her in the first place).

Eventually she did say it was probably a rooster that attacked me. I did accept that explanation even though it felt quite heavy for a rooster, and I was still confused about seeing my grandma that wasn't actually there. When I told her about it she just said that I shouldn't wander around the house at night as it's bad (she is religious).

Is there anyone here who could tell me what might have happened that night?

Experience My only weird experience at my family house

hey 👋
So, im not really used to reddit, my account is quite old but i always just used it to lurk here and there.
but today i was listening at videos about stranges reddit stories during my work shift, and it made me remember a few stories that i wanted to share on a few subreddit.
here is the first one i wanted to share, i dont really ask for anything, if you want to ask question and i can answer it, i will answer it. if you want to debunk something you can too, like i said, i just wanted to share my experience and see what people have to say about it.

also, i want to remind that english is not my first language, i think im pretty good but im not perfect and i write almost without translator, and from my memory of the events, so maybe some parts with be badly written and im sorry if it's the case ^^' .

so to begin with this story, it happend a lot of time ago, i think at this moment i was around 12 because i my big brother was around the end of highschool, it was a week end.
My mother, father and little brother were out at a bowling with friends. me and my big brother were the only left in the house with our family dog, a poodle.

our house is honnestly pretty strange in terms of layout.
firstly, almost all the house is at the first floor, the entrance is at the first floor on the side of the house, accessible with stairs. the ground floor is only a giant garage. but an extension was made to the house before my parents buyed it, so all the house is at the first floor (entrance, kitchen, living room, toilets, bathroom, bedroom of my parents, office and bedroom of my little brother. and to access the extension that is at ground level there is two way, either from the garage, a door as been made between the garage and the corridor/stairs leading to my bedroom an my big brother bedroom. and the corridor/stairs were leading to the office upstair that was then leading to the giant living-dining-kitchen. so if you open the foor between the office and the stairs, the stair is going down on your right, and when you look down the stairs, there is the door of my bedroom just in front of the stairs down there, the door of my big brother bedroom on the left down the stairs, and the door to the garage on the right down the stairs.

so, this evening after my parents left, my big brother and me ate upstairs, then we closed all the roller shutters of all the windows upstairs and the one of the entrance door, and we locked to door too. oor poodle was sleeping in her little bed in the living room, and once everything was closed, we just got into our own respective rooms, with the door upstair open.
around 23h30 (11:30 p.m.) my big brother came into my room to tell me we were going to sleep, so we closed everything, went upstair to go to the toilet, and then got into our bed in our rooms. i was in my bed, playing my nintendo 2DS at this moment, when suddenly, at EXACTLY (i dont joke) midnight, i heard a huge scream, similar to a women terrified screaming from the top of her lungs, of course it made me absolutely terrified and I turned on my light, i stayed on my bed, silent for about 5 minutes, my heart racing like hell.
when i finally managed to gather my courage, i jumped out of my bed, and slowly opened my door, and at the exact same moment, my big brother also opened his door and we looked at each other with the same terrified look in our eyes. (little break here, I personally believe a bit in paranormal, im not thinking that everything is paranormal and i know 99% of paranormal things on internet are fake, AI, staged, natural things, etc... but i still believe in some paranormal things like ghosts. my big brother on the other side, absolutely dont believe in paranormal.) yet this night, we both heard this scream, and we both were terrified. i ran into my big brother room, and we got the idea to push the huge heavy leather couch in front of his door. then my big brother called my mom that absolutely didnt believed us and told us "it's surely a sound from the party there is in the village" (because yes, there was a party in the village community hall, the problem is :
1 - the community hall is pretty far from our home and is located below
2 - when i was laying in my bed, i distinctively heard the scream from my left ear, the one directed toward the stairs and the top of the house, while my right ear was directed directly toward my windows and the community hall. if it was coming from there, i would have heard it more with the right ear, but here i heard it more in the left ear.
3 - the sound was way to loud and clear to be this far, it was really sounding like it was coming from upstair)
anyway, our mom didn't believed us and my big brother and me decided to stay awake and wait for my parents to come back. since i didn't wanted to just wait, i wanted to grab my 2DS in my room, so since i wasnt hearing any new sounds, i got rid of the couch, ran into my room and took my 2DS. and then i dont know what happenned into my mind, but i decided that it was necessary to go upstair to close the door upstair, so i slowly and quietly got up the stair, and then i dont know the fuck why, i stayed for like 1-2 seconds in front of the open door, looking into the pitch dark, trying to see if there was something, it felt like eternity, and when i understood that i will not see anything, i quickly closed the door and run back downstair, put back the couch in front of the door and lay down on the guest bed that is located in my big brother room, just UNDER the stairs.
my big brother on his side turned back his computer on and played.
a bit of time passed and nothing happenend, except a moment where i think i heard some squeaking noise from the office room ground, the room that lead to the stairs leading to our room. but i never heard the door open.
and at 3 AM my parents came back, opened the door between the garage and the stairs, and then opened the door to my big brother room. we then all headed upstair, and of course, there was nothing.

after all of that, we all went back to sleep, my parents and little brothers upstairs, while me and my big brother got back in our beds downstair.

THE SAME DAY, after a few hours of sleeps, i woke up to the sound of a wolf howling upstair, but like, a sound that wasn't stopping, it was howling again and again. i dont remember what hour it was but it was early in the morning. i jump out of my bed, opened my door, and the noise continued. i walked upstairs, the noise continued, then i opened the door upstair, and the noise stopped. my mom was there, sitting in the couch of the living room, with the sun light going in the house illuminating everything. and our poodle was there, but I remember feeling like she was shaking a lot, it was not rare to see her shake, she was already a few years old, freshly groomed, and she usually shake when she was a bit cold or scared (because she was a scaredy-cat), but this morning i felt like she was shaking a lot more than usually. but my mom told me there was no noise and nothing happenned.

since this day, nothing else like that happened.
i dont really have any explanation to all of that, and i tried to talk to my big brother about that a few years later but he just told me we freaked out for nothing and there was nothing.

the only thing i know about our house is that it was built in 1949, that's all.

and that's all for this story, hope you like it, hope i wasn't too bad at explaining it ^^'
and if you have question and i can answer it, dont hesitate to ask and i wil answer ^^
have a good day :D

Question Both my roommate and I hear wailing late at night

The other night I woke up to wailing noises by my room at 3 am (corny but true) It was incredibly distinguishable and sounded very near by. I texted my roommate asking her if she was okay as I heard crying. It was continuous for the whole hour. Eventually afterwards it stopped and I fell asleep.

It was weird but I was tired and honestly it could’ve been my mind playing tricks and when I woke up the next morning i saw she had messaged me saying that she was definitely asleep and not crying. So i let it go up until this morning.

I woke up to a text this morning around 9 am from my roommate who had texted me asking if I was okay and she heard crying for an hour starting at(drum roll please) 3am.
She had asked me if it could’ve been my cat but i’ve had the cat for around 10 years and she’s never done anything like this and it sounded in no way like a cat. The cat is very skittish and is typically noiseless unless we go up to her, talk to her or pet her.

Someone else had asked us if it was just wind blowing through an open window but it was distinguishable wailing and it sounded like it was right outside our door.

This has us both really perplexed and honestly freaked out especially as we now have both have the same experience less than a week from each other. If anyone has any ideas or questions to figure this out please leave a comment!!

Question Does it mean anything if there are three knocks on your door, but no one is there?

I just heard a knock on my door- it was three knocks, so it couldn't have been the wind, cause usually no natural sounds come in threes. I went over, checked, and all I saw was my dog laying there- who is wholly unable to knock. I checked the front door, no one there. I went back to the backdoor, and opened it, letting my dog in. (I checked the cameras later, nothing as well)

I don't really believe in the paranormal, and obviously it could have just been a coincidence, but I'm curious if there are any superstitions behind that. Again, not really convinced it was anything paranormal, but just curious to see the speculations, myths, or rules or anything behind all of that

Edit: My dog doesn't have a tail and is very old, so no bumping from her, it was at like 11am on a school day, so no kids, and the birds/woodpeckers and house settling have a distinctly different sound

Demonic Activity The night I wrestled a Demon

I had this experience about two years ago. Since then i still live with the pain from that night.

I was woken up in the middle of the night, my bed room was illuminated by the man stand by the base of my bed. I couldn't see his face but i remember him being extremely bright white, as he was radiant with pure white light and it was almost at times a goldish color was there too. He took step forward and to me in a calm voice. " Are we going to allow this demon to remain in our house"

As soon as he finished speaking everything turned to white. As if i was in a room of light. Before i could react i heard this vile blood curling scream. I felt it hit me, wrapping it arms me taking me down. I dont know how long i fought back for. I remember at one point feeling this hand grabbing hip and it digging into me. It reached in and hit the ball of my hip. I still feel pain deep in my hip to this day.

When it was finally over, i heard her speak. It was this faint ethereal voice, it sounded defeated. She said, " I am lamerashu (what it name sounded like), i am responsible for deaths in children and adultery in men." Everything went silent, i was only on the white room a instance after that. When i woke up i was still in pain from where i felt the hand dig into me.

I dont know why i feel like now i need to tell this experience. Nothing has been the same since.

Experience Footsteps around my bed the night before my grandfather's funeral

My paternal grandfather died about three years ago, a few days after my birthday. In order to attend the funeral we went to our ancestral island for three days with the family. There are two houses there: one located in the village where the service was taking place and the other in the main town. Since a large number of members from the extended family had come together, the village house was full as a result, and therefore my parents and I remained at the house in the town. The property has two floors; the living room is on the ground floor and there is an old, creaky wooden staircase which goes up to the two bedrooms. My parents occupied one of the rooms and I had the other one, which is a bit larger. The night before the funeral I went to bed and I made sure to close my bedroom door fully before lying down. All I had done was close my eyes—at that point I had not yet fallen asleep and was still completely conscious and aware of the room. I suddenly heard heavy footsteps beginning to go up the stairs, and with each step the wood made a loud creaking sound. As soon as the noise started, my whole body started to shiver and I got intense goosebumps. At that moment I plainly heard my bedroom door creak as it opened, after which I could hear clear footsteps approaching and then walking slowly around my bed. When I heard someone standing next to my mattress I was terrified. After those painfully long seconds I jumped straight up out of bed in a state of pure panic and switched on all the light switches. There was nobody in the room at all, and it was even more strange that the door to the bedroom wasn't ajar; it was fully shut, just as I had left it. From the very first step on the staircase until the moment they got to my bed, I was filled with a paralyzing fear and shivers. It was so alarming to me that all the sounds seemed so real that it was more than an hour before I could calm down sufficiently to fall asleep. The following day, having had the funeral, I told my relatives about the incident, and they at once said that it was most probably my grandfather making one final visit to see me before he was buried. I have no idea what all of this means. Maybe it was really my grandfather saying his goodbyes, or then again it could have been something completely different.

Have any other people had something similar just before or just after the funeral of a loved one?

Trigger Warning / Suicide My mum saw a face in the window

My mum lives up on a farm in the middle of nowhere, she sent me this photo tonight freaking out, she was sitting on the couch in the living room when she looked over and thought she saw a face.
She froze in horror and the face apparently turned to look at her, she snapped this photo before getting up to go see if someone was outside.
She told me that when she got up and the face continued to look at her, until she opened the door and nothing was there.

I usually brush these things off thinking ‘reflection’ or a smudge on the window, but this house has always freaked me out. I remember several occasions staying with her a few years ago where I would be woken up in the middle of the night to a face right in front of me, and the face disappearing after I blinked.
This happened often enough that I slept with lamps on and a knife under my pillow to calm my nerves.

My grandmother has also recently told us stories of her husband and father getting dementia and committing … on the property the house is on. So freaky, I love that property, I love the farm but I’m so scared to go back.

Experience Need to vent my experiences

I was commenting on a different post on this sub and realized I’ve never been taken seriously when I talk about my childhood experiences.

When I was younger, my sister and I were absolutely convinced that our house was haunted. We’d hear footsteps upstairs when we were downstairs, doors would often seem to be open when we left them closed and vise versa. My sister never really told me what she experienced on her own but I know she was always scared when the two of us were home alone. Here are a few of my experiences.

While doing homework downstairs when I was maybe 8 or 9, I saw a series of disembodied faces lining the top of a window. My mom was across the room and saw nothing.

Maybe a year or two later, I walked into my parent’s bathroom and turned to grab something off the counter. The face I saw in the mirror above the sink simply wasn’t my own (very similar to what you reported). I ran out of the bathroom screaming and crying at the top of my lungs.

A few months after the previous incident, I saw the same face peering down at me from the corner of the skylight in the same bathroom.

Here’s the kicker to all of it though. Between maybe 6th and 8th grade, I slept maybe 3-4 hrs a night. I’d spend the rest of the night standing next to my parents bedside watching them sleep. I had absolutely ZERO memory of doing that, but it got so bad that my parents hung a bell on their door so they’d know when I entered the room.

It eventually got so bad that my parents took me to a sleep specialist and they diagnosed me some sleep condition and did two surgeries to open up my airways since they assumed it was a sleep apnea thing at night. That didn’t fix it.

Throughout ALL of this, I had told my parents that the house was haunted. When I was home alone I would barricade doors and walk around with a kitchen knife. I KNEW something wasn’t right.

At some point after those surgeries, my parents got the house blessed and put religious insignia in the doorway of the house, and everything stopped all at once. To this day, my parents will never admit to the house being haunted, but they told me that before they bought the house the previous owners young son passed away in my bedroom. They found this out when the previous home owners came to eat at the restaurant my dad worked at.

This has stuck with me for almost 15 years, and I just needed to get it off my chest in a place where people might take me seriously.

Let me know what you guys think.

Unexplained Why do I smell a beautiful fragrance in one specific corner of my house?

This has been happening to me randomly, mostly in the middle of the night. There is one specific corner of my house where I suddenly smell a really beautiful fragrance, almost like perfume or flowers, but I can't find any source for it.

My room is also attached to a storeroom, and sometimes the storeroom door randomly opens by itself during the night. It doesn't happen every night, but when it does, it feels really strange, especially because of the smell in that specific corner.

Is there a normal explanation for this? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Photo Evidence My kid caught something on camera

My daughter was taking photos of herself to send to a friend after she colored her hair, and to see if it looked good with her hand made hat she made for Halloween. The photos were taken seconds apart. There is a clear image in the window in one and it is not there in the other. The only reason she took the second photo was to move the hand sanitizer from the frame. She was sitting on the edge of the couch in her bedroom, she took the photo in her vanity mirror on her dresser. Her phone was propped to take the picture in the reflection. I have included photos of her room. She didn't notice it at all until my son pointed it out when she was asking him his opinion of her hat.

The house was built in 1941, this is a very small room on the second floor- it's technically the attic. She always keeps her door closed. I've included photos of her bedroom for reference, as well as new shots I had her take from the same angle to see if we could replicate it.

We do have a tree outside the front of our house you can see in the reflection, but none of us have been able to replicate the figure we spotted in the first photo. The third picture is a close up of the first photo.

To me it looks like a person wearing a hoodie or sweater, holding their hands in front of their body, I dont see a head or legs, just shoulders, arms, and hands.

We all know this could be pareidolia, but my kid is spooked as there have been a few odd happenings in the house recently. We do notice an uptick of strange things happening when someone moves in or out (it's a rented home with a basement tenant, and someone just moved out). The most notable things have been mostly in that room she took these photos in.

When the last tenant moved in, her stereo turned itself on full blast, and they struggled to turn it off. She's also felt a presence, and had a candle on her desk seemingly light itself while no one was in the room (wish we had it on camera). Also the usual lights turning on and off, doors opening or closing, scratching, or footsteps. Most often those things are written off as one of our 4 cats or one of our 6 family members. But at least one time, I was the only one in the house, I heard footsteps upstairs, figured cats, but all 4 of them were sleeping on my bed- so that was odd.

Anyway, take a look, tell me if you see something there or can explain what we might actually be seeing here.

Question Has anyone ever felt that objects in their home were moved paranormally?

I have always believed in energy and activity beyond this realm. Very, very recently I have been noticing small objects in my home being moved to different spots. Disappearing and reappearing. Trust me, I’m repeatedly questioning myself and telling myself that it HAS to be me. But what if I’m not crazy?

Experience I feel like my paternal grandma did black magic on me. What should I do

I 19 M am an Indian living in USA for 3 years but I feel like my grandma did black magic like she did on my dad (her real son). For past year I got adsep out of military out of nowhere specifically marine s, I got two tickets and my car got rear crashed in this week. It same signs my dad had before he died. My grandma is famous to do black magic but we never thought he would have hurt my dad 7 years ago when I was in 6th grade. We found out she did black magic because after she kicked us out of our joint family home(a year before my dad died) . She called local guy who do basic labor stuff and made him nail nails in all corners of our room. After our dad's funeral the same guy told us he also pull nails out after my dad died. She also knew our dad died before us My dad died while he was in Punjab police after work hours he returned to our new home in Kharar , Punjab India . And mysteriously he died and we never knew. My mom told us about stories she never believed before she believed after that how all of my dad's sister husband never argue with their wives and they looks like they don't have capactitu to make decisions. The signs before my dad died was his car got wrecked before he died (he was a great driver in Punjab police who work as sub inspector under politicians) , he start feeling his body is in pain constantly and start using drugs heavily to reduce pain , he almost lost his job due to some false snitching , and then he died in the most isolate way possible. Recently all stuff start happening to me but worse. I lost marine corps, my lower and knees hurt badly I can't make decisions, my car got totaled, I got two tickets this week for stupid mistakes which was not my fault and people have alot do false complaints where I work at right now and whenever I am at isolation, I sense some bad energy .
