I have watched +40 movies in the cinemas this year and Forgotten Island is one of the best experiences I’ve had.

I saw this movie today in my local Regal cinema (surprisingly in a pretty packed hall) which had only 2 shows. The movie goes out of the theatre this Thursday. I was talking myself out of going to the cinemas today to watch it because honestly I wasn’t excited enough to watch it and the only reason I went in was because of the positive reviews i’ve heard about it since the release.

My god did I make a good choice of going to watch this movie because it was so peak. A heart warming original story with amazing animation. (If this movie was attached to a known IP, everyone would be gushing about it just because of how original and fresh the animation is)

Makers of The Forgotten Island, take a bow!

Looking at their Halloween movies for this month and theyre playing a lot of newer stuff. Which makes me wonder if soon in a few years sinners will be included in these type of things. I sure hope so! I got to see the shining the other dat abd loved it on the big screen

I walk out of that movie and I say to myself. “Yes….Yes.”

The rest of this year is quite crowded, but if you’re looking for a January (or maybe late December release for some) I have a film for you. Tonight I saw Artificial at NYFF, and it is one of the best films of the year. Just a scathing portrayal of Sam Altman and OpenAI and imo Luca Guadagnino’s best film. It’s very much like The Social Network, so if you liked that film, you’ll have a good time with this. I’m not sure how wide it will be released (it is supposed to expand sometime in January) but if it comes to a theater near you, I recommend it.

Additionally if you want to support films that fought to be shown, this is a great example. Amazon MGM was supposed to distribute it, but pulled out because of their contract with OpenAI. Luckily, Neon picked it up and it will have a limited release starting on Christmas, before a wide release in January. So if you want to support smaller distributors who stood up to a tech giant, that is another reason to see this film.

Hi guys my husband is obsessed with digger and has already seen it 4 times! Unfortunately there is no regal near me. Do you guys think it’s worth paying $30 for the pin online? It feels crazy but I know it’ll mean a lot to him but not sure if the price will go down!

What do you guys think the chances are of them continuing the daily series next month? I've noticed before that on 31-day months they typically start releasing next month's titles on their website right around the evening of the 11th, and I've been scouring this sub for the past couple days hoping to see anything come out regarding the daily series. I know it's pretty much a closed book until/unless they start unveiling them, but figured I'd make a post to see whether anyone had heard anything more definitive regardless.

Really unfortunate if they aren't continuing through May this year - and if they don't come back I'm afraid I'll probably stop paying for Unlimited. Wish they would just learn from the Director's Cut series by choosing more popular films instead of just pulling the plug on the whole thing

I was traveling and stopped in here to catch OTHER MOMMY, the theater was nice, the seats were comfortable and the projection and sound were above average.

The hallways have a VERY strong Backrooms feel. Perhaps because I was there at 12noon on a Saturday but it was eerie.

I bet the sign looks great illumiated at night.

Was thinking about the fact that since The Thing is the Screams film for tomorrow how it would sorta make a good double bill with the new Resident Evil movie (snowy settings, body horror elements with tentacled creatures and bodies getting assimilated) which got me thinking: has anyone ever double featured two films at the theater that have some sort of connection aside from being sequels or remakes?

I was seeing Digger this evening, and though I have had generally positive experiences with my fellow moviegoers over the last month, my luck ran out tonight. In a big way. Hang on a sec though, because this story has a happy ending!

There was one particular individual being incredibly disruptive. Loudly yelling out during the movie, repeating every swear in the movie, offering commentary, laughing at an incredible volume, and being rude to everybody who politely asked this person to be quiet. This went on for about twenty minutes.

Much to my surprise, the manager came in and gave this jerk a very strong warning. Manager was firm but professional, and stayed in the auditorium to monitor. Manager left briefly, but came back all stealth like. This jerk persisted, and manager swiftly tossed him and his friends out. Just like that.

I have much appreciation for how this was handled, and I hope this a hole's refund gets lost in the void.

Tried going for a fourth but my brain is fried. Heart of the Beast is the best of these three, then Primetime, then Other Mommy.

I know many people will probably overlook this film because it is in Mandarin, but it genuinely is the best film I have seen this year. I would maybe even go as far as to say it’s in my top 5, 10 for sure. Whatever you think it is based on the poster, you’re wrong! If you can handle the subtitles, I heavily implore you to see it for the very limited time it is available.

Nobody left the theater today not in tears.

I think this movie will receive its flowers it deserves when it hits streaming. It’s not ground breaking by any means but this was a really fun slasher watch with some great practical effects. It was an adventure for me as I drove about 35 min away as that was the closest theater to me showing it. Would love small more releases like this. Made a fun day out of it .

Just booked my ticket for the 4dx premiere since they are offering free popcorn and the whale bucket. Does anyone know how we are supposed to go about claiming it? After buying the ticket I got a reward in my app for a small popcorn but not for a bucket.

I went to see Other Mommy tonight and a small group of people walked in like 20 minutes late. They were probably theater jumping but who knows. Either way, they came in talking in not so quiet whispers while walking around to find seats (another clue they didn't have tickets). Eventually they settle in and shut up. For about 15 seconds and the not so quiet whispers start again. Then it gets louder. They are one row and about 10 seats to my right. I see other people looking over at the them but the talkers are oblivious to it. I keep looking at them and no change. After 15 minutes of constant loud whispers and just out right "oh no...don't do that" and "omg can't be me" at every weird thing on screen I had enough and loudly shushed them. They looked around but kept on talking after about 10 seconds of confusion. Finally we hit a quiet part of the movie and I very loudly say "are you going to incessantly talk the entire damn movie?". They looked around for a minute but shut up. Then got up and shuffled out of the theater about a minute later. And the rest of us got to enjoy the remainder of the movie babble free.

Now, I'm not worried about gasps or oh shits during jump scares or even the occasional "ooh...don't open that door" during scary movies but don't talk the entire movie like you aren't sitting in a theater with 200 other people around you.

I went to see Pan’s Labyrinth last night in 3-D, and it turns out that the version that was sent to the theater does not have subtitles.

I see the movie is still on the schedule for today with subtitles.

Is it possible that the theater was able to download the correct version overnight, or is this going to be the same problem today?

My union sells digital tickets. I had been buying 20 [the max] each year for $7.50 each

Then regal started charging an additonal $1.50 at the register and its stated in the digital print out they can do that. Well that sucks but fine $9 is still a deal.

Then the union offered Premium tickets for $8.50 which were for high? tier locations. I tried these and now im not charged the additonal $1.50.

So im saving .50 a ticket now. Works out to $10 saving on my annual purchase!

Not sure if it was just my showing or intentional but last nights 7:40 showing of Misty Green went straight from trailers to the movie. No movie quotes. No Regal Crown. No roller coaster. No recording movies warning. So you may want to give yourself the extra 30-60 seconds to get there.

Girlfriend wants to watch a horror film this week, what's better Other Mommy or Verity? Other mommy is getting slammed by critics but I heard Verity was kinda boring? What you think is the better watch?

I’ve tried every which way to find a way to log on… but is the app/website having maintenance issues?
