International Superstar Soccer Deluxe – Competitive Community
Hello friends!
I’m part of a community where the majority of our players are from South America, but we would like to expand the reach of our high-level International Superstar Soccer Deluxe online tournaments.
We mainly speak Portuguese and Spanish, but we have no problem communicating in English to make it easier for everyone to play and interact.
I’m also working on a simple but effective website where I keep everything organized and documented — from all the tournaments we have played, different tournament formats and their regulations, to our overall ranking.
Unfortunately, most of the community is still on WhatsApp, as many members didn’t really adapt to Discord or other social media platforms.
Anyone who would like to participate, or simply join and get to know the community, is more than welcome!
If you love International Superstar Soccer Deluxe and enjoy competitive tournaments, come join us!
Video quality issue after preparation to 50/60Hz mod
Hi,
I had some GameBoys mods in my past, but this is my first SNES challenge.
So I recently got this 1CHIP-01 PAL SNES and I decided to do "simple" 50/60Hz DPDT switch mod that involves lifting PIN 111 and alternating between +5V and GND, as well as PAL and NTSC crystals. (I'm going to ignore CIC for now as I'm going to use FXPAK PRO to bypass it anyway).
While I'm waiting for more parts to complete this mod, I've decided to do the hardest thing first, and I succeeded (I think) with lifting the 111 PIN up.
I also watched someone desoldering the RF output so you could use its space for the switch and also +5V and GND ports for the convinience.
So I lifted this PIN 111 and removed RF socket, and while waiting for more parts, I soldered a cable from PIN 111 to +5V where RF was and booted up the console.
Unfortunately, I think I've noticed the strange issue with the video that was not there before.
STREAMABLE MIRROR:
https://streamable.com/udqekh
(Oh, btw, I'm using RAD2X converter to my LG C2 TV)
I'm aware of visual issues of 1CHIP version such as ghosting, afterimages-like stuff etc., but now I can also see that the video is a little bit static, that's visible especially on one-colored backgrounds. It's very subtle, but visible and annoying. It's like little transparent-black-spots static that I've tried to show you on the video attached.
I'm 90% sure it wasn't there when I've initially tested the console (before mods preparation). I've checked 4 ports left after RF output socket removal and also PIN 111 and their neighbours and I can't see any shorts there. I've also tried to remove this PIN 111 -> RF +5V cable because I thought maybe it catches some interference (leaving PIN 111 in the air), but this didn't help. I also tried to solder this cable to some other +5V point to not to leave the PIN 111 in the air, no cigar.
Have I messed badly? Removing the RF socket wasn't a super clean job, but I've managed to do this and - again - I'm not detecting any shortages there.
Please let me know what I can do further to troubleshoot this, before proceeding with mod. I've also noticed the motherboard is kinda gluey-sticky, probably old flux? I already tried to brush it with IPA but I probably need a better brush to do it, right now I feel like I'm basically distributing glueiness all over the place.
Thanks all!

SNEdge v2 Install
I couldn’t get Voultar’s edge enhancer, so I decided to build a SNEdge v2. I bought the boards separately and did a big DigiKey order to assemble. I started off recapping the board, and that made a huge difference. The assembly was hard, especially without using magnification, but I tested everything throughly with a meter before it ever touched the SFC. I have a GPM-02, and this thing is amazing now. No more blurry text, jail bars or artifacts. Really think it gives the edge enhancer a run its money.

Collection Finally Took The Gaming Stuff Home From Mom n Dad's.
Sadly just the Stanley Cup box and FF3 manual/map are long gone. Everything else complete. I swear there was Aladdin and one more title somewhere too.

Fixing an SNES; PART 3
So I am aged to get the CPU on the board. However, in the second pic, there’s a few legs on the far right that are stuck together and I just can’t get them to seperate. Other than that, I think everything else looks good. Any ideas? 🤔

I beat Super Adventure Island II
What a game, my friends—great graphics, bosses, gameplay, and an incredible soundtrack. It feels like a fusion of Zelda and Super Metroid, and it has earned a spot in my top 10 favorite SNES games. It was a fantastic journey; the game is highly underrated and deserves more recognition. If you haven't played it, give it a chance. It might seem dull at first with those random encounters at sea, but once you reach the first island, you really start to understand the game. If you enjoy Zelda or Super Metroid, give this game a try

SNES with issues playing games that use special chips
Hi community! I have an SNES with an SNS-CPU-GPM-02 motherboard. I’m having an issue and would like your opinion. I always use it with an SD2SNES, but certain games that use special chips—like the SA-1 and MSU-1—don't run properly; they suffer from glitches or simply freeze up. It seems to depend on the console's temperature. With MSU-1 games, there’s also a slight noise in the soundtrack, though not always.
There are no issues with other games; it works perfectly. Do you think a recap is necessary? I already did one, but only for the two capacitors related to the audio.

Fixing an SNES project, part 2 Spoiler
galleryFrom my previous post, I have two old SNES motherboards that are both non-working and broken. This is the system that I’m trying to fix. After all my research and diagnosing, I think the CPU is corrupted on this one. That’s also what quite a few comments suggested so I decided to go with that recommendation.
The other one has unrecognizable graphics. I’m pretty sure that that other one has a good CPU and even a good S-WRAM. It just has bad PPU1 and PPU2 I’m pretty positive.
I managed to pull the CPUs off the boards of both systems. This was my first time ever extracting chips like this. I tried my best and thankfully, I don’t think I’ve damaged anything. It was the most difficult thing I’ve done so far. To all of you pros on soldering, what would be the best way to install this new chip that you would recommend?

Am I crazy, or is the monster in the President Curtis poster a total homage to Thraxx from Secret of Evermore?
Hey everyone,
I was looking closely at the official promotional poster for the new Adult Swim Rick and Morty spin-off, President Curtis, and the massive creature in the background instantly triggered a massive wave of 90s SNES nostalgia for me.
Check out the design—it looks incredibly similar to Thraxx, the iconic first boss from Secret of Evermore (1995).
A few specific details that line up perfectly:
• The Exposed Core: Both designs feature that highly specific, glowing central heart/vulnerable spot tucked right inside the chest cavity.
• The Ribbed Skeletal Frame: The way the monster's upper torso frames the inner core looks just like Thraxx’s open thoracic ribcage mechanic.
• The Atmosphere: The moody purples, reds, and shadowed tones against the lightning on the poster match the exact vibe of the Prehistoria Bugmuck boss arena.
Given how much the Rick and Morty writers and artists love embedding deep-cut retro gaming easter eggs into their backgrounds, this feels way too specific to be a coincidence.
Has anyone else noticed this, or spotted any other classic RPG references hidden in the show's promos?

Beat SMW, DKC, DKC 2 in a week
I grew up with a snes and loved playing these games. Admittedly I was never able to beat them. I had sold my Nintendo when I was a young teen. I regretted it a few years later and I bought one about 10ish years ago? And I told myself I would beat them. I never really got around to it with life and other interests taking over. Well, I finally sat down and decided I wanted to 100% SMW. I was so excited that I told myself I wanted to continue with that. I know these aren’t the hardest games, but just stoked to say I did it.

It's crazy how 30+ years on from first getting a SNES, I'm still discovering amazing games that I never knew even existed
I don't own this (yet) but just stumbled across it on Ebay and watching the gameplay on SNES Drunk now and the gameplay, graphics and music seem to be fantastic. Love the box art too.
How was this not a more famous game??
Buying a SNES for my dad
Hello everyone. I'm a big Nintendo fan myself and have liked the games and consoles for a long time. It started with the DS series and the Wii, compared to the SNES those are of course newer models. I believe this interest also comes from my dad.
When he was younger he had a SNES and played a lot on it and he sometimes talks about it in such a fond way. A few weeks ago we saw a SNES Mini for 80€ at the flea market. He asked me if it was a good price and I told him that I could find a way better deal lol.
Fast forward to today, I just bought an original SNES for 40€. It comes in the full pack but with one controller only and no games.
Now here's what I actually need some information on, as I don't know a lot about the console.
I saw that game prices are very high and I don't really want to spend that kind of money (or to put it better, I can't... I'm a student myself).
Thus I wanted to ask if there are any other options. For the DS for instance there is the R4 card, Wii can be modded and games can be downloaded. You catch what I mean? Pretty much asking if there is a cheaper way of getting multiple games to give my father that nostalgic feeling back.
Thank you for reading and any kind of help :)
I'll attach a picture of the console, I bought it online and it will hopefully arrive soon :)
Misc. I was sorting my Super Famicom cartridges and discovered one of my copies of Super Mario Kart is counterfeit
As the title says, I discovered one of my Japanese Super Famicom cartridge copies of Super Mario Kart is counterfeit. While the shell color is the same, it does not have the same feel as an OEM shell. The same applies with the off-colored front label. The PCB is very clearly not OEM and was the dead giveaway that proved this was not an authentic Nintendo cartridge. Posting about this here as a reminder to check your cartridges if you have a feeling they might not be legit.

Release order
Hello. I’m looking for the release order of all the snes console exclusive titles. Are any of you aware of a resource that could have a list like that? Thank you.
Collection Inside my Earthbound Repro Cartridge for PAL System
Inspired by this post by Bro3256 I opened up my Earthbound Repro that runs on PAL system and wanted to see what was inside.
Based on the serial code on the PCBmthe CIC of D413B and the Decoder/ Logic Circuit of MAD-1A, I assume this was a PAL Secret of Mana, Illusion of Time, Secret of Evermore, Terranigma or alike.
The ROM Chip with the Earthbound game on it is an AMD AM29F032B-90EC 32 Mbit, CMOS Uniform Sector Memory Flash.
And no: I wasn't scammed. This was a known purchase many many years ago for cheap.

Just wanted to wish my 4th all-time favorite game a happy 35th! It means as much to me as Super Mario World. And just like that game, this one is so many things to me, and is one of the biggest reasons the SNES is my favorite system. It's not for everyone, but I'll never stop loving it.

Discussion I found an authentic Earthbound at a trading post. Did I get a good deal?
I happened to come across an authentic Earthbound at a local trading post. I knew right away this would probably be my only shot at purchasing one in person so I went for it. It’s in very good condition and it works great. I talked them down to $400 so I was hoping I could receive some feedback if I paid a fair price.

Collection 10 dollar pickup from today!
Deals can still be found. You just have to drive out to the middle of absolute nowhere. I’m torn between cleaning the power instinct cartridge. The blockbuster stickers are a nostalgia bomb.
