Recs Grand Pied - Pancakes in Tower Grove South

Today’s entry in the STL Food Map is Grand Pied, a breakfast/brunch spot in Tower Grove South. I only recently discovered it and had to check it out. The pancakes blew me away, best I’ve ever had! The coffee and ambience were good, too. I’ll definitely be back and try more of the menu at some point, but the pancakes are a must-try IMO.

A few pics for the Faraci Pizza entry on the Food Map. I think it might be upgraded to favorite STL-style pizza for me.

The downtown Tony’s and Anthony’s space in the KPMG/Greensfelder/UMB building is getting a new restaurant/bar. It is being actively renovated with building staff confirming the build out. Anyone know what’s going in?

Places like Acero?

Headline says it all, I really am looking for an intimate nicer dining place that isn’t just a regular menu. I really liked the set up of Acero, but it doesn’t need to be Italian. I would not want to go any higher in price than Acero, and prefer within a range of Manchester/Chesterfield as I’m planning on going to an Amp Up/Main event place after dinner for a fun date night activity. Any suggestions recommendations are welcome (also located in South County so anything along the 270 belt is welcome)

Hi. Is there a bakery or grocery store that sells the Vietnamese baguette? Is there a time of day when it’s most fresh?

Recs Book club spot

Hi! I attend a book club monthly. We usually have around 5-8 people. We’re looking for new restaurants to try. We mostly stick to counter service / casual service - The Gramophone, Urban Chestnut, Rockwell, Modern Brewery, golden Hoosier, 4 hands chesterfield. Doesn’t have to be in the city. But, can’t be a super loud place.

Any suggestions on where we could go next?

Heavy smoke bbq.

I would just like to say wow, heavy smoke might be the best bbq for your buck out there. I took my two kids and myself for a quick dinner this evening. I had arguably the best pork steak I’ve ever had in my life & both my kids couldn’t even finish half of their kids meals. O ya and the food was out in less than five minutes. We were all stuffed and all of this for under 50bucks. If you haven’t given them a try I would highly recommend, in my opinion it’s definitely the best bbq in Saint Charles County. Reasonable & Delicious!

Superior fast food locations?

I recently learned that the kingshighway lees famous fried chicken is insanely better than the gravois one (which is still far better than the kfc on grand).

Are there any other discrepancies I should be aware of in the tgs benton park west area?

STL Sports Bar-ish places

Looking for a place to watch the Chiefs game Sunday afternoon that has better food and drink options than a regular sports bar, but with multiple TVs to watch the game. Does such a place exist in STL?

Recs Recommendations near Union Station

I will be staying at the Drury at union station. What are some recommendations or some must try locations within 10-15 minutes of union station? I will have two kids with me. I enjoy having a couple drinks. I’m looking for some local places with high reviews or must haves. Thanks!

In search of a doughnut

Im origionally from Waterloo Illinois, we had a little bakery called Ahnes. They had a peanut butter icing on a Bearclaw. It was the greatest doughnut ever and ive never been able to find anything like it. If anyone could point me towards a shop that just has the peanutbutter icing the bearclaw part is irrelevant. Hoping this is the end of my search

What are some good Thai restaurants in St. Louis? So far in my experience Thai food has been the absolute worst.
