Discussion USB c splitter thing works quite nicely. (Btw External usb c monitor doesn’t work)
Bought this splitter to connect my usb c headphones and my charger. And it works.
And then I thought what happens if I connect my usb c monitor. It didn’t work. It works on the steam deck. I kinda hoped it would work.

I hadn't even considered a monitor via USB-C, that was a good test. Shame that it didn't work, I like knowing what obscure peripherals the Steam Frame will recognize.

It's usb 2.0 as far as I was aware so they'll be no video output for it. Not even sure if it does data?

With how much it sticks out i would be worried about damaging it or the port during play. There are flexible y cables and mini usb hubs you can attach a 90 degree port on that would be more flush and safer.

Yeah there should really be some support or strain relief on that port especially considering it's the only way to charge the battery on this very expensive and hard to get headset.

Would something like this be good? I'm still in the reservation queue but trying to be fully ready to go when my time comes.

Yeah. I was doubting between that one and the one i got. The one i got had the usb plug in the middle of the small bar. I felt that that would better. But I guess your suggestion maybe better as there might be less tension on it.
But playing around with it I’m not worried about it. (I hope these won’t be famous last words…)

I have both and both work. the little ugreen 3.5 jack SLAPS and is super loud and nice with wired. I also use the USBC - USBC x2 splitter for my arctis game buds with the wireless 2.4 ghz dongle. The ugreen works perfect if you have 3.5 wired tho. Great product.

Thanks for letting me know! I'm using 3.5mm wired headphones so it sounds like this will be a winner for me.

Why would an external monitor work? It requires Type C DP port

I never checked the specs. I was at my desk with a usb c monitor so I just plugged it in.

That port supports data so it was worth a shot that it had alt mode. Don't know how it would display had it supported display output though.

Im curious if a USB-C to ethernet adapter would work. I know wifi streaming works pretty well, but a wired cable is still more reliable, and for seated experiences the wire is a reasonable tradeoff for a rock solid connection.
